Courses still closed in the UK though look to reopen soon. They've already said gold is going to be one of the first sports to resume. It's easy to social distance and make necessary adjustments, which Golf England have already announced.
Our local league has cancelled the season though while our club competition is going to be reduced.

Course I played at yesterday has segway's you can rent. Look like crazy fun. I'm definitely trying one out next time.
I do enjoy walking a course but our seasons here are so short alot of the clubs just jam their courses up on the weekends. I have zero fun and have no interest in a 5 hour round. I usually only play the courses where carts are mandatory and actually enforce playing times. Segway's seem like a great alternative to a cart.
Anyone else try these out?

Never tried one. Sounds fun though. Not sure how it works with a couple beers ...
Last year was the least I played in a long time. Gets harder to play as you get older and kids grow. Too much sh%$ going on. I started playing when I was 5 but really got serious about getting better in my 30 s. Was breaking 80 but it took some dedication and a lot of range time.
Anyway want to play more this year so I have been trying to play last couple times I am hitting it off the toe. Which is the worst. Feels horrible and goes nowhere. I need a couple hours at the range to sort it out. I'm probably standing to far away and or coming to over the top. Just need some confidence.
One tip for anyone limited on time is buy the foam balls and hitting mat for your backyard. It really can help your game out and you won't hurt anyone or break anything 😉.
Hopefully I can get my mojo back this year.

They aren't hard to learn to use but never tried one with the extra weight and "balance" issues from having a bag onboard. I take it the bag is onboard and not over one's shoulder? I'm waiting for someone to start using a hoverboard, same principle just more balance needed.

Couldn't go to range while my wife was getting covid and I was watching the monkeys😲 so used foam balls. Found my spine angle was way off. Think I got it fixed . Maybe....who knows. Know tomorrow and Wednesday for league. We are defending champs ..no pressure .Tuesday makeup day.
Anyone who has played golf for a long time knows this.
You will find it then it clicks.

Even though the courses in the UK are now open (two balls only), I can't get a bloody tee time at the weekend so still haven't played.

First round since restrictions were relaxed and it had to be blowing. 40kph winds with 50k+ gusts. Hit a 7i 90m on the first! Played Hidden Valley in Melbourne. 6500m from the tips, soft conditions under foot so absolutely no run, lots of water and that wind for the first round in months. Not a recipe for a good score!

Finally got some range time. Foamed balls helped. I was standing to far away and to hunched over. Started striking them solid. Of course have to bring it to the course.
Play two days in a row for league so we will find out.

Played 18 on Saturday, carted it because the course is cart only... Shot 80 on a par 73 (really a par 72 but the 17th hole is a 480yd par 4 where par 5s on the front 9 are 470yds (with elevation accounted for), so I personally made the 17th a par 5. First 3 holes were rough but a had a 185yd 6-iron shot on the 5th that ended up 5ft from the pin that led to an easy birdie and really kickstarted things. First round of the year so Id say things started well.
I just picked up the new Infinity Tour shoes from Nike so I was itching to get out and play.

Like a putting convo here . What's your guys method.
I put my index finger down the shaft and lift the putter head a little up and try to pop it but never move my head while looking down once I got my line. I try hard to go a little in then out. I also mark my ball with a black line and use that .
Of course a lot more goes into putting but that's my basic that helps me make some.
Love this game.

I use a anser 2 style head but should honestly use a face-balanced putter, have always putted better with those as I'm straight back straight through. Traditional grip for me, and have been finding a little mark just in front of my ball to align with much more consistent for my putting. Binning more putts from distance (as long as I read it right!)

Yeah ping anser. It's grooved.
the best putter I have ever had.
Always amazes me how much time people spend on hitting driver on the range but never practice putting.

Since business sucks a fat one I played 27 today. Mix bag of good bad and great. My irons are still giving me problems. Everything else ok.
No rain for 4 days here which is rare certainly makes my course shine though. Greens rolling .

Bridgestone discontinued my preferred ball, but luckily I came across an extra sleeve, so I don't have to go experimenting just yet. No matter, my goal is to eventually get good enough where I bother keeping an honest score. Goal after that is to complete a full round without losing a ball.
Have plans to finally get out next week. It'll be an adventure.
