Imagine this: it's 2:30 am. Dead asleep. Suddenly, you receive a call. One of the ones that you know why the person is calling without question. It's Mother Nature and you have to use the restroom. So you grab your phone and check any messages or news. As you are checking your notifications it says that you have been tagged on the TGCT message board. They say coffee is an instant waker upper (I don't know, I don't drink it) but I'll tell you that nothing shoots your eyes open and makes you more alert than the adrenaline rush of finding out your digital nation is counting on you and the result of a competition hangs in the balance of what you are about to do some hours later. So just a few words to some people before I try to go back to sleep: To the tournament organizers: thank you for all of your hard work and running a beautiful and flawless tournament. SkyBlueBen the work you do is nothing short of amazing and for that I (and we) all thank you! To my opponents: what a match, what an event. Thank you for being such formidable opponents. However, as brilliant of golf as you all have played... You made one mistake (and boy it was a big one). You left the door open. And even bigger mistake is that you left the door open for me. No matter the result (even though I have the utmost confidence in my skill and ability to dictate the result in our favor), I will digitally shake your hands and congratulate you for a tournament well played. To my team: Believe. We were down, but never out and now the man who always plays his rounds late is the one with the keys to the boat to bring it to victory shore (see, we wouldn't have this drama if I played everything on Sunday ππ). I will leave everything on the course and you can bet your bottom dollar that no one wants this more than I do. No matter the result, it's been an honor to go to battle with all of you and I hope that the result in my head is the one that I will bring home. To the fans/stream watchers: some people may chicken out and not want to stream their rounds with the amount of pressure they may feel. They may worry about how streaming could affect tempo or how hecklers could get in their head. Those people aren't me. I will still be streaming my rounds and notifying everyone when I'm about to tee off. I'm a man of my word and I look forward to being able to share the experience with anyone who wants to watch. My 3rd round (the one that doesn't matter) is slated to tee off in 5 hours from now with the 4th round to follow. I will post in here when I'm starting round 3 as well as round 4. Let's go NA! πΊπ²π¨π¦ Here's hoping for....

MATCH REPORT DRC - DAY 3 SINGLESBill (UTI)Owensby vs Paul (SnottySid) Bradford. billybudd0623 sid snott
Third round singles match today from Royal County Down featuring your veteran CPA Bill against British Bulldog Paul. These two are evenly matched so a close game is on the cards. Firstly do we all know what UTI stands for in the participants heading? if not pls google it. OK all clear? Bill's quickly out of the blocks and takes a 2 up lead into the 3rd. It's nip and tuck, back and forth over the next few holes but Paul manages to reel Bill back in (no mean feat I might add'cos Bill's added a bit of weight in his latter years) and they go to the turn all square. Paul continues his run and goes 1 up on the 10th. Bill forces his way in front again and pulls away before Paul reels him in again (poor bugger must be tired now) and once again it's all square going into the 18th. Phew! What a titanic struggle! Paul's birdie putt on the last lips out and Bill's goes in. All over red rover - win to Bill and NA 1 up. Great match fellas. Pete Bogeyman reporting from Rotal County Down.

Thanks to you all players for making the inaugural Dirtbag Ryder Cup a smashing success!!When an idea is being bandied about there are many things to consider. We took on the DRC knowing it would be a lot of work. More for some than others. With that said I have some special thanks to a few people who have made this an unbelievable event. catcherman22 We asked, and you delivered a perfect course for our competition. Celtic Wolf How could we not play well after Pat's opening video. A job well done Pat. The write up guys aka IGolfBad Mark's press corp. A cracker jack job in all the write ups and I have read all of them. Thanks to Pete bogeyman , Johnny evilgrin72 and Kevin E up mup kupen nup . sid snott Paul who does most of his work 'behind the scenes' organizing pairings and anything else needed to be sorted. SkyBlueBen Ben, as you know, works tirelessly for the Dirtbags and seems to love every minute of it. A final thank you to NA captain Hunter Hunter B and sid snott Paul Row captain and all the assistant captains for your work on this season ending event. Sometimes it is hard to gather volunteers or to get some to do the little things to keep our league running smoothly. That was not the case this week. If I have missed thanking someone, please let me know and I will correct it. Today's final match is an ending to a competition that has checked all the boxes, and exceeded everything I imagined.
The best thing about all of this for me is to see the enjoyment that all have had this week. A great day to be a Dirtbag and another feather in the cap for OUR Dirtbag league. I still believe the most fun place in all of TGCT land.

I want to thank everyone thatβs been involved with the running and reporting of the event what a fantastic job you have all done. If season 7 goes the same way it will be great which Iβm sure it will.

Imagine the two golfers leaving the dressing rooms & making their way to the 1st tee as this fanfare soundtrack blasts out from the mega speakers perched behind the packed grandstands overlooking proceedings...... Good luck gentlemen - may the best golfer prevail >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

MATCH REPORT DRC - FINAL ROUND SINGLESErnie (really old fart) Copage representing NA vs Kevin (plsdontfukitup) Everard representing ROW (and I'm not touching that surname with a bargepole!) cappy1 up mup kupen nup
Final day singles match here this morning folks between that wily old fox Ernie and the young up and coming (plsdontfukitup) Kevin - should be a good match and final day conditions are near perfect for golf. Ernie rockets out of the blocks and races to a 4up lead at the 4th. Wow! Can Kevin respond? He grabs a couple of birdies and gets it back to 2 up. Ernie responds immediately and it's back to 4 up at the 13th. Unlucky for some and unfortunately in this case it's unlucky for Kevin for despite another couple of birdies the match is lost. NA wins 3 and 1

Dirtbag Ryder Cup Day 4 - Match 20 Evil Johnny (NA) vs Saint Pat (ROW)
Soon to be teammates Johnny and Pat faced off as the NA team were edging their way back into the contest. Pat made his trademark, at least for Royal County Down, fast start was soon 2 up and grinning. Pat reached for his mobile skimming through Glasgow Celtic gif's to use to celebrate his impending victory. Birdies for Johnny on the 5th and the 8th soon wiped the grin off Pat's face and the evil grin was back. Pat went sloping off into the rough on the 9th and suddenly Johnny was 1 up at the turn.
Pat, still obviously distracted was now picking up gif's of the despairing Celtic defenders after the last Old Firm derby as the evil one again took advantage of another slip up by Pat to go 2 up on the 10th. The 11th, 12th and 13th passed with Pat putting the pressure on with birdie's only to see Johnny match his great play. Finally a Pat birdie on the 17th to Johnny's par cut the lead to one.
The par 5 18th, Pat needing at least a birdie for a half. It just wasn't to be. Johnny proved to be the dog's bollocks and held his nerve as they both carded par's after both birdie putt's agonisingly slipped past the hole.
They departed to the bar for a well earned Guinness and a Bushmills chaser to plan the downfall of their opponents in Season 7.
Johnny (NA) wins 1 Up.

Coverage for the DBN (Dirtbag Network) is testing their stream and audio. Pending no other dogs waking up and needing to go outside, we are hoping for seamless coverage. Just a few minutes until the first tee of the 3rd round (the one that doesn't matter)

Waking up to this, and wow!!! What a storm of a comeback!
Ashton, I won't be able to watch unfortunately, as I'll be heading to Bloomington for the IU game this morning. I will be checking here with high anticipation.
Play your game, let the rest take care of itself. Two dirtbag OG's, and always top competitors to decide it.
Bring it home, Mr. Fox!

Dirtbag Ryder Cup Day 4 - Match 20 Prince Chuck (NA) vs Crazy Marc (ROW)
Billed as the final match of Day 4, both sides put a big hitter in. Chuck fresh from his exploits in the glamour of the Euro tour where apparently you only have to play 2 rounds each week against Marc, hoping to take over Art's mantle of the pin up boy of the Kentucky Fried.
Chuck's great form from the first 3 rounds decided to leave him flailing in the face of the mighty Croc as Marc eased into a lead of 3 by the 8th hole. On the 9th he was that confident he was swinging the club with one hand while signing autograph's for his growing band of grouplies. Big mistake. His shots started going all over the shop and Chuck went for the jugular taking 2 back on the 9th and 10th. Game on!
Marc steadied himself with a birdie on the 11th and the 2 prize fighter went toe to toe, shot for shot until the 16th when Chuck pulled it back to one with a glorious birdie of not the type that were following Marc. After a lovely drive the Croc man weighed up his approach to the 17th green. The rest is on YouTube.....
Marc (ROW) wins 2 & 1
