+++ DRC Day 3 Match Recap +++Randy RHMIII (NA) vs Les lessangster (ROW) We are halfway through this season's Dirtbag Ryder Cup here at Royal County Down and we have experienced some very close matchups during the first two days of team competition. Heading into the weekend, ROW holds a narrow lead of only 1 game against team NA. The whole week, Les has been in a remarkably good mood. He took photos with his teammates on the course, smiled at the barkeeper, and willingly gave autographs. "The rules for this week are such that every player has to complete their first two rounds by Wednesday. Ben did that for me. Not having to wait for those late bloomers is so refreshing! I have to give him flowers. He likes flowers", Les said during the pre-game interview. At the first tee, Les pulled an empty Kraken bottle out of his pocket (as you can see on the posted photo, Les' blue jacket has big pockets), which slightly confused Randy. Les explained that Royal County Down is not only known for its dead bugs, but also for an immense diversity in flowers, and that the bottle was the best approximation to a vase he could find. "I love flowers, too", Randy replied, "let me assist you!" And so the outcome of the match only played a secondary role. "Frans told me everything about tulips", Randy said, "They can be found on holes 2, 4, 14, and 15!" Les is not that much of an expert when it comes to flowers, but he spotted some dictamnus albus from the family of the rutacenae on the right of the first fairway. "Oh, yes, dictamnus albus are adorable, but very rare. You can only find them on holes 1, 10, 16, and 18", Randy intervened. Both players agreed that it was a good idea to collect the flowers while playing, and so Les' tee shot landed right in the deep rough next to the dictamnus plants. Needless to say that he lost a shot to Randy, but his bottle contained a first bunch of flowers. On the next hole, Randy added some red tulips, and since tulips don't tend to grow on fairways either, the match was tied again. But that didn't matter, as neither of the players paid attention to the match score anymore. In fact, the atmosphere was so peaceful that all of a sudden three violinists appeared and accompanied the contestants on the course. The Kraken bottle got fuller and fuller, as both players progressed, dancing hand in hand under a soft pink sky. "That's it. The bottle is full", said Les after adding some more dictamnus on the 16th hole. "Wait a minute. What about the plants on the final hole?", Randy replied, realizing that he was behind, "you should try to add them." "Nah, the bottle is full. We can focus on golf now." At that point, the violinists instantaneously burst like soap bubbles and the sky turned grey again. The players waged war against each other on the two final holes, but Les eventually was able to defend his narrow lead. +++ Team ROW wins 1Up +++

Match 17 - **RECAP** - Mark vs David K
Badly needing a win and a point for the N. American squad, Mark started quickly with an eagle on 1 to David's birdie and jumped out to a 1 up lead. The pair then matched scores hole-for-hole over the next 4 with no movement either way until Mark birdied 6 to David's par and suddenly, the lead was 2 up. David battled back on the very next hole, however, dropping in a birdie to cut the lead in half. The 8th was split, but a clutch birdie on 9 pushed Mark's lead back to 2 up.
The NA team and captains began to drive their carts over to this one, anticipating a crucial point. Missing however, was Johnny Bollocks who - when realizing his day 3 score wouldn't count for singles - got caught up with some local trim and a jug of scotch and went AWOL. Most recent reports indicate that his hotel room was rife with spent prophylactic devices and preternatural amounts of vomit. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
Perhaps the appearance of the bulk of the NA team rattled Mark, as he started the back 9 with a par to Dave's birdie, and just like that, the lead was down to 1 up. The next 3 holes were halved and things were still looking good for the NA side when suddenly - lightning struck. David went on an epic tear over the next 4 holes by dropping birdie putts on all 4 holes. Mark simply had no answer, parring all 4. On 14, the match was squared. On 15, David went 1 up - 2 up on 16, 3 up on 17 and in the blink of an eye, all was lost for the NA team. Dejected stares and muttered expletives were the order of the day for the North American team as they simply couldn't process this run of brilliance from David.
ROW team (David K) wins 3 & 1 over NA (Mark)

+++ DRC Day 3 Match Recap +++
Kevin M lions67 (NA) vs Ben SkyBlueBen (ROW) Two singles matches have been played by now, and Team ROW has been dead serious right from the start of the singles campaign (special thanks to bogeyman for that valuable bit of vocabulary), cashing in on both occasions. Thus, the standings are 8.5 to 5.5, as we head into a highly anticipated matchup between Bogey Basher Kevin and Charlie's Hells Angel Ben. "Indeed, it is a highly anticipated match between those two rivals", said Hulk Hogan, who suddenly appeared in the commentary box. "Both players already met twice in singles matches during regular season play, and they even split the points in their latest encounter in week 8", he went on and began flexing. "Get out of my commentary box! You already had your fifteen minutes of fame when Johnny allowed you to assist him. Also, there is no camera to flex for. This is a written recap." Mr Kupen Nup was visibly annoyed. Unfortunately, he is only four leeks thick (no muscles) and hence couldn't do anything against the dominant presence of the famous wrestler. By the time Mr Kupen Nup was able to focus on the match, three holes had been completed already, with Ben taking over the early lead due to a birdie on the first hole. On the fourth, Kevin's tee shot landed right in the area to the left of the fairway where Randy was collecting some tulips earlier on. The landing spot was a mess and full of mud, so that Kevin only managed to get out on the second try. This earned him a Humphrey, as some future former dirtbags say, and the ROW lead was up to two holes. "Humphrey is the term commonly used by Arthur Vandelay when referring to a bogey", Hulk Hogan insisted, "because the surname Bogart actually sounds a lot like -" "What a funny wordplay", interrupted Mr Kupen Nup. "Thank you very much Mr Hogan for this background information which my readers have no interest in whatsoever." Moving on. The remainder of the front nine was characterized by both players winning two holes each in an alternating way through birdies on par 4s. Thus, Ben was 2Up at the turn. "By the way, have you noticed that Ben is wearing a flower chain? The red and yellow ones are tulips, and do you know what the others are?" Hulk Hogan asked. "No, but you can surely tell me", Mr Kupen Nup replied, rolling his eyes. "Yes, indeed, I can", continued Hulk Hogan. "Those are dictamnus albus from the family of the rutacenae. Such adorable flowers, but very rare. You can only find them on holes 1, 10 -" "Okay shut up!" interrupted Mr Kupen Nup, "You know what? My readers appreciate my basic reports written in a simple, slightly uninterested manner, capiche? Let's just leave it that way, okay? Thank you." The back nine started less turbulent, with a sequence of birdie-par-birdie by both players on the first three holes. Kevin started feeling some pressure, which even got bigger as he could not match Ben's birdie on the 13th. The NA contestant now was three behind with five holes to go. "Speaking of Kevin: Do you know why he has the number 196776 in his username?", Hulk Hogan asked. "Okay, that's it. I'm done!", said Mr Kupen Nup. "I quit!" And he left the commentary box, slamming the door and leaving a slightly perturbed Hulk Hogan alone in the tiny room. +++ Team ROW wins 3&2 +++
