You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Reminder: Please include your leaderboard name in your post or in the Tour Name portion of your forum profile so that our reporters can make the connection between your Press Tent posts and your leaderboard names. Thx! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!
We will only have one Press Tent for WGC and majors. Host tour will host the Press Tent. Play nice everyone!

Out early on day one of the sun soaked trump national layout was jules powell (daddyjules10) . He joins us after shooting a somewhat disappointing 67, -HI JULES, WHAT WENT DOWN OUT THERE TODAY? What went down? well it certainly wasnt the ball into the cup! Man i couldnt buy a putt out there today. Off the back of a great practice round i really felt good going into round one but it wasnt to be. -WE SAW U STARTED PRETTY WELL FINDING BIRDIES ON 1 AND 4 THEN TELL US WHAT HAPPENED ON 6? Well i hit a great tee shot, leaving a perfect p-wedge into a stiff breeze. Struck it perfectly and it had one hop and dropped in for the eagle 2. -FROM THAT POINT WE THOUGHT IT WOULD REALLY KICK START UR ROUND BUT WASNT THE CASE, WHAT WENT WRONG? Well my tee to green was pretty much fault less but i really struggled on these greens. If you find yourself on the wrong side of the pin on some of these holes they can really bite back. I lipped out a putt on 8 and left myself a horrible banana putt from 5ft which i missed. That followed with another 3 putt bogey on 11. Then with the end in sight i had 7ft for a bird on 18 and i over shot it 6 by and made bogey yet again. So angry with myself. -WELL WHAT TO YOU FEEL YOUR GOALS ARE GOING INTO ROUND 2 AND OVER THE WEEKEND AS THERE WILL BE NO CUT OF COURSE? Yeah well i headed here to doral with the intention of finishing somewhere around my world ranking position and il be happy. I think this is still acheiveable if i can get something going in the next couple of rounds (maybe have a word with the greenkeeper to see if he can get plenty of water on these greens ) -WELL GOOD LUCK TOMORROW AND THANKS FOR JOINING US. Its a pleasure, thanks guys catch you soon!

Steve Sloan arrives at Trump national early in the morning to prepare for his first tournament as a PGA pro. - Hey meat get me a coffee asap!-Pardon me? I don't think you are aware of who I am. - Your not the intern?
-Um no I'm here to play in the WGC my name is Steve Sloan, people like to call me SloanerTW. - Oh I see... Never heard of you give me one second...(ruffles through papers).... Ahhh here it is Steve Sloan you must be the new guy to the tour. Your ranked 216th in the world how do you think you'll fare against the top players?
-I think I'll be ok But i have to get going my tee time is soon I'll talk to you after the round. LATER THAT DAY AFTER THE ROUND -Hey Steve! Nice shooting out there! How does it feel to shoot a 58 at the WGC.
-I lipped 4 putts and squirted twice, could have been better but I'll take it. - I hear theres been quite a bit of that going around lately. Do you think your round will hold for 1st place after round 1?
- I'm not sure there are still a lot of players out on the course very capable of shooting low so we'll see if it holds. The course is playing pretty tough and th... -One second Steve I think i see a top 10 ranked playing coming off the 18th green. I'll have to get going good luck on round 2.
-(Sigh) Reporter Runs off -THANKS FOR THE INTERVIEW!

Next into the tent is Euro Tour member Dan Turner.
Hey Dan, how was it out there for your first round?
Looks like it will be a decent opening round, but I was slightly disappointed to be honest. Not being able to birdie #1 today almost got me off my game. Had a 7 footer for bird, took the same smooth putting stroke I normally take, yet the ball jumped out like it was shot out of a cannon. Was able to salvage the par though.
You said it so I'll ask, why are you disappointed?
Let me rephrase, I'm happy with the fact that I didn't have any bogies today, but I was only 4 under through 7 and as I said, having to take par on #1 left me somewhat upset and I feel as though that's an easy birdie to start off a round. I felt like not getting a bird there was easily giving up a shot to the field.
4 under through 7 means you went 7 under for the final 11. What was the catalyst for getting your round going?
Easily the eagle on the par 5 8th. Was able to use the wind to my advantage as it was blowing in my face on my second shot. Hit a 3wood and landed it right where I wanted, the first cut between the bunkers and the green, and coupled with wind helping to knock it down, left me with a 17 foot eagle putt. That got me to -6 and I regained some confidence and helped me forget the first hole. Finished the front side with a 6 under 30.
The other shot that stood out to me was on the 1st par 3 on the back. Thanks to the wind it was playing much longer and I was able to hit my 5 wood to within a couple of feet for a tap in bird. Had the wind been behind me, the rollout would have been more difficult to control as I learned in a couple practice rounds, even when hitting a 3 or 4 iron into that green. Played the back 9 with a 5 under 31.
Was also able to avoid any bogies in the opening round which is always a good thing.
As you get ready for round 2, what are your expectations?
Have to be honest here. This is the best of the best teeing it up here. I'm using this as a learning experience and to see how I compare. I'm coming off a disappointing showing in last weeks Euro event so I would love to have a top 30 or 40 finish before rejoining the Euro guys next week. After not knowing what to expect when I started this season, my goals have shifted to wanting to qualify for this event and The Masters.
A good finish here will help give me more confidence while also letting me know what I need to work on to make sure I can secure one of those prestigious Masters invitations. I've made every cut so far but had 3 disappointing finishes across the pond. While I know you can't expect to contend every week, I need to get my game consistent enough to where I'm constantly in the Top 15-25 on the Euro Tour every week. I've shown flashes of my potential with a T-2 and another Top 10 along with 5 Top 25's. It's the other 3 that concern me and shows me that my consistency needs to improve.
Thanks for stopping by and answering the questions, good luck in round 2.
Sure thing and thanks.

Ah, another Euro Tour member Andi Smith(SMIFFYLFC79) Enters our tent, HI ANDI, YOU'RE FIRST VISIT TO OUR TENT, HOW ARE YOU?Hi I'm fine thanks, Bill isn't it? YES. Its just you don't half look like our reporter Bob. SHOULD DO HE'S MY TWIN BROTHER, BUT I'M NOTHING LIKE HIM. Thank god for that , so you wont spontaneously break into tears, phew , nice tent you have here by the way, sofa's, flat screens, makes ours look drab with just a dj mixing music for you, hey there's Brionne chilling, alright pal, gr8 first round m8. RIGHT SPEAKING OF ROUND ONE, HOW DID YOU FAIR ON YOUR VISIT ACROSS THE POND?Well all this talk of Ball Squirting, I wasn't sure of but it felt more like bum squirting to me on the first tee , then I did not catch my drive with 100% conviction , plus it went right , I though great, rough on my first drive, well done , but luckily stayed on the fairway made a birdie and thought happy days , birdie on two then made me feel comfortable, nice start. AND THEN?It all fell apart, bogey on 5 and 11 but again I never caught the shot 100% , then the rest of the round felt like watching Steven Gerrard's slip against Chelsea last season, over and over again in slow motion , I did not know if it was a bad dream or the start of a nightmare , I finished -5 67, for round one, out of contention straight away, with the field we have here, I was rather dejected Bill to honest, dummy/pacifier went flying, lol. NOT EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAD HOPED FOR THEN?Ha Ha Ha I see you ask the same daft questions as your brother, lol, no not really bill, not really. PLANS NOW AND FOR GOING FORWARD?Going to chill a bit Bill, find some food i'm starving , lol, then hit a few on the range and relax for round two tomorrow, Hey Bill? YES ANDI,Do you know of any party's arranged for this week? NO I DONT IM AFFRAID, BUT I'LL KEEP AN EAR OUT FOR YOU, AND I'LL LET YOU KNOW AFTER ROUND 2, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.Thanks Bill nice to meet you and thanks for not crying on me, lol, and i'll see you after round 2.

Ryan O'Donnell has entered the tent:
*Cuts Bill off before he even speaks*
"Who do I complain to about pace of play around here? That had to have been the slowest round I have ever played! And what is with that screaming baby that continued to scream during EVERY back swing!!!"
"Um, Ryan wasn't that your kid that was doing all the screaming? In fact we had a number of complaints about it from some of the other competitors. Why did you even have a two week old baby out of the house anyways?"
So you knew it was mine? Man I was hoping no one noticed.
"He was strapped to your chest, we are actually surprised you could even swing and that you finished your round at all."
Bill this game is hard enough between the squirts on my golf shots, and the squirts from Baby Magru while I'm trying to swing. I still somehow managed to shoot -11 which I will take given the circumstances.
"Will Baby Magru be coming back for Round 2?
He probably will be around for awhile. No getting rid of him at this point. I just hope he manages to stay quiet for the rest of the tournament.
Ryan where are you headed?
Sorry to cut this short, but I am headed to the bar. It is never to early to start him on some hard liquor to help him sleep at night. I might as well drink too, it may be the trick to quieting him and stopping the squirts for both of us. See you after Round 2.

Dan Turner enters the press tent after his second round.
Dan, you were on the front page of the leaderboard after your opening round 61, how was your second round?
No where near as good as it needed to be to stay there. It started off poor with a 3 putt par on #1, again giving away a shot to the field. Then I took a bogey on #3, my first of the tournament. Could only manage a 34 on the front.
As for the back, played better but the double on 18 really hurt and caused my 5 under pace on the back to end up at a -3 33. Finished with a very disappointing 5 under 67.
What happened on 18?
I have no idea. Maybe something was on my club face but I aimed well clear of the water and had a slight left to right breeze. Hit it on the screws yet it somehow managed to land in the lake off to the left of the fairway. Never seen anything like it before.
What can you improve on for round 3 and do you consider yourself out of contention?
(Dan lets out a laugh)You serious about the second part? Absolutely I'm out of it. Now I just want to finish in the top half of the field. This is the best of the best here and there is no margin for error.
As for the first part of your question, need better approaches and obviously no bogeys. I had 8 birdies during the round but the mistakes were costly. Again the first hole haunts me. Hit the green in 2 but then completely misread the lag putt from 70+ feet. That can't happen. Must eliminate any bogeys. That's been the main problem with my game the last couple of weeks, can't put together 4 solid rounds since I left Thailand. Right now I'm at a loss on how to fix it. I practice daily so it's not for lack of trying.
Hope you figure it out soon and good luck in round 3.
Thanks

And the for the 1st time this week we manage to get a few minutes with Euro tour player Tom Humphries.
-SO TOM, ITS THE END OF YOUR 2ND ROUND BUT THE 1ST TIME YOU STOPPED TO TALK TO US.
-Yea, i would like to give say sorry for the way i hurried right past you after round 1. Had a slight embarrassing problem at that moment so couldn't stop.
-OH I SEE, EMBARRASSING? COULD YOU ENLIGHTEN US?
- Mmmmmm........ well where do i start. Everything was fine until we were waitin to tee off at the 11th so i decided to open a new energy drink. It tasted slightly different to the one i drank earlier in the round but i had to drink is it was ever so hot out there. Didnt think much of it at the time. Then as i was putting on 15 my stomach started to rumble. I was in serious need of the bathroom by the end of the round.
- I SEE, THAT EXPLAINS WHY U RAN BY US WITHOUT STOPPING. SO WAS IT SOMETHING YOU ATE?
-Well to be honest Bob thats what i initially thought. But as i emptied my bag later i found of funny looking powder in the bottom of my empty energy drink. WE HAVE NO DISCOVERED IT WAS SOME KIND OF LAXATIVE. Then it all clicked. I was on the range hitting a few balls about when out of the blue that Andi Smith popped up in the bay next to me. He'd only been there 5 mins and then said he asked if i had any spare tee's.
- SORRY TO BUTT IN BUT WHAT TOP 20 WORLD RANKED PLAYER DOESN'T TAKE TEE'S TO THE RANGE?
- Well when you put it like that obviously not a professional one, but i had plenty with me so i told him to take some from my bag. THAT WHERE IT ALL HAPPENED, RIGHT THERE BOB!
- WHATS RIGHT THERE?
- Come on Bob its obvious. Thats when he spiked my with those laxatives.
- YOU SURE IT WAS HIM?
- Of course. Its all coming together. Every time i see him something goes wrong. I seen him in the car park at hidden links when i found my car with 4 flat tyres. I also seen him in the locker room at kobeoshi royal when i came across a banana skin in my golf shoes. COMING TO THINK OF IT HE WAS IN A PRACTICE ROUND WITH ME AT RED DIAMOND WHEN FOUND SUPER GLUE ON THE GRIP OF MY DRIVER. F&$€ING SNEAKY BA@£D. SORRY BOB IM GONNA HAVE TO GO AND HAVE THIS OUT WITH HIM!
[TOM STORMS OUT THE TENT IN A HURRY]
- WELL IM SORRY ABOUT THAT FOLKS I THINK WERE GOING TO HAVE TO START CALLING THAT TOM HUMPHRIES "ROAD RUNNER". AT LEAST WE GOT HIM INTO THE TENT TODAY. HIS TOTAL SCORE AFTER ROUND 2 IS SHOWING AS -23 ON THE LEADERBOARD. NEXT ON HIS WAY INTO THE TENT WE HAVE .............

Next into the press tent is Euro Player Andi Smith (SMIFFYLFC79), HI ANDI HOW YOU FEELING?Hi Bill, to be honest no very happy at all. OH. WHY IS IT A BAD ROUND?No not really, explain that in a minute. WHAT IS IT THEN? Its all this slanderous accusations by my so called pal Tom 'Top Ten' Humphries, accusing me of all these things against him. WOULD YOU CARE TO ELABORATE?OH YES, firstly my damn caddie never brought my tees to the range, and if Tom noticed his bottle of energy drink was on the opposite side of his bag to where his tee's are, secondly I was stopped in the car park at hidden links by another player so I was not the only one there, thirdly, again i was not the only player in the locker room at kobeoshi royal, and Lastly if Tom recalls I was late for my practice round at red diamond and he played along with somebody else. SO YOU ARE PLEADING YOUR INNOCENTS?Yes Bill I am and when Tom reads this he will realise that there was another player next to him on the range, not just me and that player was TONY 'CANT TRUST HIM' McGETTIGAN, who stopped me in the car park, who was in the locker room and who played the practice round along side Tom. So i'm hoping Tom works this out also and stops these ludicrous accusations. SO YOUR ACCUSSING TONY?Again yes, but to get a bit of revenge on Tom for the false allegations , he asked me for some headache tablets before his third round, he took two pills alright , but his third round should prove an UP LIFTING experience, lol. BACK TO GOLF PLEASE, HOW WAS YOUR ROUND TWO?Better a lot better, 59 -13 good solid round bogey free , played well, relaxed more and everything flowed lovely , so no complaints from me Bill, no complaints. WELL THANKS FOR YOUR STOP BY ANDI, HOPE U CAN CLEAR YOUR NAME, AND GOOD LUCK IN ROUND THREE. Thanks Bill, Off to see Tom now, see you after round three, oh any news on the parties? NO SORRY NOT HEARD OF ANY.Ok thanks anyway.

Runs into the tent and stops at the mic:
Hey Bill, glad to be back for round 2, what's the quickest round ever played here? Because I think I just beat it! I still managed to shoot -12 and Baby Magru managed to stay asleep the entire time!
"Wow Ryan that's..."
Impressive, yes, yes I know. I am hoping he stays asleep for the last two rounds as well...
"Wait Ryan, where are you running to?"
Bill, I have slept about 10 hours these past three days, and he is asleep. I am going to try and take a quick...
*Sounds of Baby Magru screaming in the background*
Dammit Bill!!! Now you have done it, now you woke Baby Magru and I will not be able to get my nap in! Don't be surprised if I have a present from Baby Magru to you next time I see you!!!!

Look, it's press tent regular Fred Parrow. You were in one of the last groups in, how did it go? Well my scores would say disaster, -13 after 2 rounds, but I really didn't play awful.
Dude you are in 80th place, how can you say that? You know it's a strong field this week and I had to contend with 8-15 mph winds. I hit all my fairways, only 1 bogey, and I think I handled the wind as well as could be expected. My iron play had me staring at 20-60 foot putts all day for birdie and I actually sunk a few, including a sweet 44 footer on the Par 5 8th for eagle.
So what's the plan for the final 2 rounds, you are obviously clearly out of contention. No sh%$ Sherlock. The good news is even if I come in dead last I will be banking more purse than you make in a month buddy. Just going to have some fun, maybe even take a dip in that pretty blue water if play gets backed up.
Err, I wouldn't advise that Fred, you know they have gators down in these parts. They also have a bunch of like-new ProV 1's down at the bottom all for the taking...just saying.
Allrighty then, good luck with that and good luck the rest of the way. Meh, at least I'm not dealing with that rash of ball squirts that seems to have spread among some card holders. I heard it started from one of those unquarrantined Euro's crossing over the pond this week. A late night party where things got weird with some of the guys and I would advise you to keep your shorts on until a cure is found.
Good advice!

Welcome back Dan, how would you sum up your 3rd round?
The what could've been round sums it up perfectly.
Care to elaborate?
Well I birdied the first 10 holes and 11 of the first 12, so I thought I was in for a magical round. However, I went the rest of the way with only 2 birds and a costly bogey on 18. Hit my approach just how I wanted but a gust from the golf gods Romes saw it land between the lake and the green. Couldn't get the up and down after having the par putt lip out. Finished with a 27-33 split.
Wow I see what you mean. Still great shooting though.
Thanks, hopefully I have a good final round and get a nice finishing spot.

Jeremy Blaylock Rounds 2 and 3 59 and 58 (-13 and -14)
So Mr. Blaylock, you made ESPN Sports Center last night, but it was not your good play that got you there, it was the fight that broke out on the 18th green in round 3, can you tell us what happened?
I was paired with Nick Russel, but the group in front of us, Tyler Harris and Bradley Garcia were just playing too slow, so I left the tee box and walked to the green,...
Actually Blaylock, you ran, as in sprinted!
Ya, and I was not empty handed either, I had my putter and my driver with me, dual wielding style, there was gunna be some blood. I just wanted to beat them down, then Nick Russel tried to hold me back, so I beat him down too! it was me vs those three guys, too bad they did not fight back, I felt really bad just beating them while they laid there on the green moaning and bleeding, but I kept on going. I even 3 putted for Harris and then signed his scorecard and gave it to the marshal, Garcia had already made his putt by the time I could get there. I bet those three will be nice and bruised up for the final round!
The group behind me was only one player, Brionne Beaumont-Thomas, his partner got drunk in the 2nd round at the turn, and could not finish. I think I will start a fight with Thomas in the last round, we will see who wins, who who uses a wedge that is.
