I have been looking at courses played by the PGA and was interested in doing TPC Harding Park (there is no version on the TGC courses list). There is level 2 Lidar for it, and someone else has already done a pretty good job drawing in the features on OSM, with it seems the correct tags. Nobody from the TGC designers seems to have claimed this course on the Lidar Course claimer sheet. Is there anyway to tell who did the tracing? If not, what should you recommend I do?

I traced it months ago, (you'll see my name in the bottom-right in OSM), but haven't got the skills in the designer to make the course, so I gave up. It's no problem if you want to use it, I even roughed in the 9 hole course in the centre of the plot. I did feel that after looking around the lidar plot, ithe actual course was a little flat and bland, but I'm sure a decent designer could make it work.

For info - there is a non-Lidar version of TPC Harding Park in the game - which plays decently (except for 2 dodgy pin placements). No idea if it is actually accurate or not though.

Thanks to both of you for the updates. I admit that in this instance I did not look in the game for the course, only the TCGTours accepted list. I will check the course out. [edit] I just did check out the course, and you are right it seems pretty nice, although pretty flat, with fairways having little variation. Whoever made it has never gotten a course accepted (or even submitted) at TGCTours, and Harding is the only one with many plays. Since this is going to be used for the PGA Championship in 2020 the schedulers at least have a viable option, so maybe I will move on.[edit] As for flat, I just published Crooked Stick Lidar, and that course DEFINES flat, but it is still interesting. I actually played the original Harding Park course as a young man back about 40 years ago, and it was a tough track then. I do not know if you remember reading about this, but the fir trees lining the fairways are one of the major hazards on the course - many errant balls in past pro tournaments became lodged in the foliage and never found. I will consult with the PGA scheduler and the Korn-F**ingFerry scheduler to see if they are interested in a version; the PGA plays it next year.

As the TST scheduler - if you do a good version, we will be playing it on TST as the PGA venue for sure......
