I guess this whole discussion is aimed more at the players shooting in the 50's or low 60's. For the rest of us mere mortals, we can use all the help we can get. I must say i played with the wind meter off by mistake when I first got the game, and thought something was wrong. I for one am glad its there. Then again I wouldn't want to play a real round with ear plugs in either. The wind noises in TGC aren't much to go on. I've started a round and heard the wind blowing, and thought it must be 12 - 15 mph winds from hearing it, only to find it was only 3 - 5 mph. The thing is this isn't supposed to be the PGA or pro golf by any means, at least represented by TGC. If you go back and read what its all about, its golf for the everyday player. Maybe theres too much calculating going on, which brings the scores so far down. The pros might have yardage tables and caddies giving them advice, but how many of us here actually use yardage tables in a real round ?. Hey everyone wants to win, but I'm out there just to play and see how well I can do. Besides If you play that way long enough, you'll wind up doing a lot of the calculations in your head anyways. Maybe we should have tournaments with no calculating allowed, that is unless you want partial credit for showing your work

Like say you get 10 seconds after the time your player addresses the ball. That could make things interesting. It would certainly show who has the quickest math skills. haha

Shot Clock is not a bad idea, but 10 seconds seems to be stingy.
