Nicely sculpted bunkering , they look like tough holes, keep away from the bunkers on 7 and a very small landing zone on the other Par 4

Nicely sculpted bunkering , they look like tough holes, keep away from the bunkers on 7 and a very small landing zone on the other Par 4 Thank you. It seems like I design backwards/differently. I typically just route and design the 18 holes. Then go on and fine tune the sculpting after multiple tests. Then it’s planting time. So those holes DEF are not done. Are blind shots just completely frowned upon? And if so, why? For example that second picture is pretty uphill. The landing is to the left of second bunker. Then you can’t see the green from the second. I’ve seen people speak negatively about them, but they do exist in real golf. I understand gimmicky ones and TOO many, but are on an occasional few “ok”?

Nope, totally fine when done intentionally and well. It’s the unintentionally blind ones that are frowned upon (I.e. where you can’t see anything when addressing the ball but only through scout cam).

I design the same way as you, because the planting is the bit I enjoy least and find the hardest, a bit like the kids leaving vegetables till last at dinner! Blind shots (and this is just my opinion) ought to be avoided if possible

If blind shots can be avoided then in my opinion they should be, often they can’t, but for example if you have an expected landing area then can you lower the area between this point and the green? The one that bugs me is a downhill hole where the front of the tee or a lump in the ground obstructs the view, all the work you’ve done can’t be seen!!

Looks good. Certainly needs a bit of smoothing out for the "rough cart path" because I know I would hate walking on that with my push buggy LOL

Man, I could see how designing courses could drive some people absolutely insane haha. I could imagine the designers of the best courses out there could still find stuff to fix after publishing.
If one did want to submit a course, how do we go about doing that?

Publish and create a thread in Completed Courses, with Rookie Contest in the title. I'd tag ErixonStone as well. Simple as that

Oh, I see. If that's the case, go to www.tgctours.com, 'Courses' at the top, then 'Submit a Course'.

Yeah kinda mistyped there. I did mean what b101 said but also was curious on this so it worked! Thank you both.

Well submitted my course, Arbor Pines. Had a lot of fun with this and learned a ton. I wish I could have done a little more but with some life things, I just wouldn’t be able to. Give it a go, let me know your thoughts, and I look forward to playing everyone else’s!
Thanks again for everyone’s help!
