How are you on hole 16 allready? Well, I really don’t have anything done. But I had a good idea of what I was going for, routed everything, put down basic green/fairways/bunkers and have just been tinkering from there.

Lookig like a decent start. Word of advice, be sure to smooth out your cart paths. I like to use them as well and found with my first publish you can't just lay 'em and leave 'em. It's one of those things that draw the eye if done right, but will also stick out if not, and judges tend to remember when it's not!
GL in the competition!

Paths are a lot more time consuming than I anticipated. Pretty tedious to get smooth.

They aren’t too bad when you know how, just leave them till the end of the rest of your sculpting as there’s nothing worse than having to redo them. In terms of how, in case you aren’t sure, take fuzzy brush (top left of page four) on landscape flatten at 0ft, go high to low and go really slowly, bit by bit keeping the brush about twice the width of your path. Lots of single clicks and it’ll look the way you want. Good luck!

But since it’s a rookie design contest, learning is a part of it. I actually scratched this entire project. I also learned about the heavy rough and fairway interaction from another thread. Well I had that on 18 different fairways. I was aiming for a pretty traditional course but IMO if I go that route, planting really should stand out and that’s def not a strong point for me. So switching it up to something more in line with the type of courses I love to play. So we shall see how it goes.

I’ve always loved rugged highland courses so I’m giving that a whirl. Hopefully I can stick with this one.

Ended up changing outta highlands but feel pretty good about how the course plays from the golf standpoint. Still have a ton to do on terms of looks. Hole 1 Approach on 2 Tee on 3 5 13 If I read correctly, we can upload the course do get people’s opinions? If so, I might post something tonight as I wouldn’t mind some feedback before I start the planting/aesthetics. Some good looking courses out there. Don’t really expect to go far, but I’ve learned a good amount already so I’m getting what I wanted outta this contest!

Yep, you can post a beta any time you want and definitely go for it, as there are loads of people who will give good feedback. For what it's worth, I really like the idea you've got with the approach to 2 and the sort of secret green feel. Sightlines are looking clean as well, good job!

Really starting to like another course I am working on more and more after applying things I learned from the first build...
