It's pretty simple the Australians needed to cheat to win so roughed one side of the ball up with sandpaper to make it swing in the air, obviously this is not allowed so they tried to hide the sandpaper in various crevices but got caught out by the TV cameras. This resulted in I think 3 players being banned for several months including the then captain (warner) and vice captain (smith). Unfortunately they didn't need to resort to such measures to beat us this ashes series cus we were ssshhhiiiiitttt 😂😂

Played Rounds 2, 3 and 4. I don't think I have ever cursed so much on one course, even though I love the course lol. I tried to cut into the +5 first round and get it back to Even par.. I had a really great 2nd round finishing at -3. I then followed it with a bad 3rd round, the high winds pushed me to a +4. The final round was much better and I finished at Even par.
R1 (+5) R2 (-3) R3 (+4) R4 (E)
Total (+6)

Horrible rounds 2 and 3 lol. I’ve never barely missed so many short putts, it was infuriating watching the ball roll over the edge of the hole over and over. Went in the water both rounds on the par 5 with water in front of the green. Once because I foolishly didn’t look at the hole position and just shot, the third round I don’t know what happened but I got a very slow backswing..,,ugh. I think I went I went +2/+1, dropping me back to -5 overall. So disappointing after a really good first round.

I think the flop shot can be penal and rightly so with off tempo shots out of the heavy rough. It needs to be a high risk shot to be realistic. They certainly have improved it from before with all that ridiculous arcade like backspin out of heavy rough.
Ahhhhh, so even though all the factors say it should not go as far, if you hit your tempo wrong, (which I do often), then who knows what the ball may do.   Sort of like in real golf if you make a mistake.  That actually makes a lot of sense and I didn't think about it that way!
Its like on those chip shots where I try to hit it not 100%, thinking it will go just a few yards, and it somehow goes 15 yds and keeps rolling.  That didn't make sense to me until I remembered that even if you hit a chip shot softer, (in real life) if you don't hit it smooth or follow through, it will just smack the ball low like a punch shot instead of going up and soft.  Â
Next time you’re on the practice fairway, hit a flop with a very fast downswing. It reproduces hitting the ball skinny and can fly 80 low and fast depending on your lie, which was always my bad shot on a flop IRL.

Should've stopped playing after round 1 especially since I've been in the pub all night but I hate this course so no difference to me 😂😂😂

Bancroft for using sandpaper. Warner (vice captain) for telling Bancroft to do it and Smith (captain) for not showing the leadership expected of an Australian captain. 2) Michael Atherton (English captain at the time) was fined by the ICC for lying to a match referee and using dirt to change the condition of the ball. The English board neither fined nor banned him. 3) South African captain Faf DuPlessis was caught using mints to change the condition of the ball. The ICC fined him and the South African board did nothing. 4) Indian captain Rahul Dravid, on seeing the Du Plessis incident said he’d done it for years, the Indian board did nothing. 5) Pakistan played Shaeed Afridi was caught BITING the ball and fined by the ICC. The Pakistan board did nothing, along with overruling an ICC ban on fast bowler Shoib Aktar for performance enhancing drug violations. Being the moral compass of cricket isn’t easy, but someone has to do it. Bancroft Is the only player that was close to an ICC ban, and he didn’t get one. WE banned our players, because the game is bigger than winning. The game is sacred. {in Forrest Gump voice} ...and that’s all I have to say about that 😂

They actually didn't beat us, it was a draw Just like the final of the World Cup. #Bazinga Agree crazy rules of Cricket, why didn't it just go to another over. Imagine if the Open was still tied after a playoff and they gave it to the golfer who scored the most birdies 😅

Knocked out rounds 2 and 3 both at the same -4 that I achieved in the first round. Sitting at what looks to be 1 back of Eddie on PS4, I may have a real shot if I can manage a nice final round.

Bowed to recent pressure and had a crack with Masters clubs. +6, E, +2, and a rushed +5....+13 total. Even with shot feedback turned off, majority of my shots looked off tempo, which at "the course which shall not be named", is not recommended, particularly approach shots. Still scratching my head.....

HA. I can get a +13 in ONE round with my master clubs!
wait, thats not how its supposed to work is it.
welcome to the master club!
That off tempo on approaches happens a LOT to me, and most often on the most important approaches. But I wouldn't trade my masters for anything at this point.
