"Nestled in the Canadian Rockies just west of Canmore, Alberta, Canmore Lodge is a municipal 9-hole layout that's often overlooked by tourists — and the locals like it that way. Lacking the cachet of it's full-sized counterparts in Banff and Kananaskis, Canmore Lodge still offers spectacular views of the Rockies -- without the need to drain your savings account to grace its fairways." -- Full Wedge Magazine
"A tranquil outing in the best setting that nature can provide. Unashamedly unpretentious, Canmore Lodge makes for an afternoon well spent." -- Foreplay
As the communications and marketing director of the DAM, I am unequivocally the least accomplished member of the team when it comes to design. Canmore Lodge is just my third foray into the designer since TGC 1 and, though rough around the edges, is an improvement upon my last effort - the Kamloops Desert Golf Institute. I still have much to learn, and plenty of opportunities for refining execution, but the locals seem to enjoy the course nonetheless.
Fully pinned, and offering three tees, the par 35 layout winds its way for a shade over 3,400 yards between the serene alpine lakes in the Canmore Valley. Fancy a quick nine in a natural setting? Canmore Lodge looks forward to welcoming you.
Pics to come, hopefully.
