After his bogey-free opening round where he missed a ton of birdie chances and only shot -6, Victor did indeed head to the clubhouse to loosen up. He changed his clothes and wandered over to the tap room for that bubbly rum & cherry coke he was longing for, but all he got was a snorting laugh from Harry O’Johnson behind the bar, who grumbled that they only serve the finest beer and lager in Ireland. He slid a foamy pint down to Lane and said, “that’ll put hair on your balls, laddie!” Victor drank the brew to be polite, but it sat in his gut like a thick tar, and lasted the whole way through the second round. If Lane thought he had no momentum in round one, then he was purely dragging ass in round two. A -3 was all he could put on the card, and he now sat 14 shots out of the lead after two trips around the beautiful Royal Portrush. Thankfully he had a late tee time for round 3, which allowed him to sleep off the feeling of death that O’Johnson had so willingly injected in him courtesy of that heady lager. Victor had no shot at beating Darryl this week, and was even looking up at guys like Mayo and Georgiades on the board. All he could do was go enjoy the course and try to secure a top 15 finish. He never found that bogey-free consistency the rest of the way, but he did make some birdies out there, putting together a solid third round and a respectable final round, leaving him at -22 for the week. It’s hardly a consolation, but he only lost by 13 shots, so he actually gained ground on the leader over the weekend. Perhaps he would sneak away with a top 10 for the week instead? Victor headed over to the 18th green to wait for Mayo, Georgiades, and Darryl as they finished up. The rivalry crew would go on to secure the top three spots, a few hundred bucks, and some stools at the pub for the post-game party!

The Pillsbury Doughboy Open @royal Portrush Open 2019, Round 4.
Mike had put 3 solid rounds together on Royal Portrush but would need something better, something special to beat Montgomery, alas that that wasn’t to be a bogie free -3 front 9 just wasn’t good enough and without a very good back 9 he would surely loose his 2nd place to fast finishing Mayo. A birdie on 10 started things off right, but then a bogie on 11 and things were starting to look grim, an eagle on 12 followed by a birdie on 13 and 2 more on 15 & 17 were just enough to hold off Mayo -19. A final round of 63 (-8) -32 for the tournament just simply wasn’t good enough to beat Montgomery’s -35 who did enough in his 1st 2 rounds to hold the chasers at bay on what was a gorgeously prepared Royal Portrush.
Congratulations to Darryl A. Montgomery on his 5th BCT victory and thank you to Dave Woods for such a great course to play on this week.

Very nice form the last couple of weeks Mike, I’ll have to lift my game a bit to keep up 👍 Thanks it was real hard work this week that's for sure.

Thanks guys! Darryl sends his love! Onward to next week! And no, he’s not taking a week off. On top of that, he’s hiring a security detail so none of you get any bright “Nancy Kerrigan” ideas!

I’ve seen you’ve still been on the leaderboard on XBox, if that was with beginner clubs we have a challenger for Darryl hopefully 👌🏻 If you message admin I’m sure they’ll get you into this weeks event. Nice first round BTW 👍

Haven't played a golf game since TW'14; found out about this game and this TGC Community and thought "eh, what the heck. I'll give 'er a run."
What a tragic way to get back in the swing of things: +41 and a bottom-5 finish for the tournament. Yikes!

Just keep on swinging thing will improve, I hadn't played golf in a decade found this game and well I'm shooting pretty good now. best of luck and welcome.
