gamesdecent ahh, didn't you add nine (9) holes to Sweetens Cove that don't exist and still call it Sweetens Cove?

The one where the real life architect of Sweetens Cove is on stream talking about how crazy it is that it looks so much like the real Sweetens Cove? Yeah, we did. You won’t hear me, or him, or anyone that plays it saying it doesn’t capture the look and feel of Sweetens Cove.
If I went into the project saying it wasn’t supposed to be Sweetens Cove or that none of my RCR’s are meant to be accurate, I wouldn’t have called it Sweetens Cove. But that’s not even a LIDAR course.
I guess my main gripe is pulling the LIDAR and OSM on a course that you say you don’t care about trying to recreate accurately, and then naming that course after the course you don’t care about recreating, doesn’t that kind of undermine someone who DOES want to recreate it accurately? Doesn’t affect me one way or the other, I’m just putting my two cents in saying I hope it doesn’t become a thing.
Maybe I’m just a little salty from somebody deleting all my Cypress Point OSM work, redoing it, and then importing it and putting out a beta before I got around to working on it.

I put some flowers and rocks around some bunkers and this is the uproar? I cannot believe I am even still listening to this. You act as though you are the only one who can design courses. Don't worry, there will be no more courses coming from me. Adios

I put some flowers and rocks around some bunkers and this is the uproar? I cannot believe I am even still listening to this. You act as though you are the only one who can design courses. Don't worry, there will be no more courses coming from me. Adios Your courses are very popular in the simulator community. Plus I’ve seen what’s coming! I’m not against planting changes, mild sculpting changes, and we all suffer with the themes, I’m sorry I couldn’t free the trees. The lidar itself is an “interpretation” of a course. We know pot bunkers and really steep features sometimes smooth, teeboxes and cartpaths got the boot in favor of greens. I would say changing the shape of a hole, length of a hole, or making up a new green contour would be too far - can’t change how the hole fundamentally plays. If it’s out of bounds and you want flowers? Fine. No houses? Not ideal but understandable. The rest is necessary artistic interpretation using two limited tools. That being said, I strongly believe Steppe is the only theme that should be used. Next patch will only support Steppe but will also bring back Winter. Patch 8.0: A Song of Ice and Steppe.

Nothing is going to be 100% exact, especially in this setting, but if you're going into the project with the intention of not trying to match the look and feel as best you can, I feel like it should be named something different than the actual course name. That's just my opinion though. I can't speak for Dwain, but I know him pretty well and I guess you will have to ask about his "intentions." It is not like he changed the layout, the holes or any of the playing areas from the Lidar pull.

The flower thing was a legitimate question because I couldn't find any pics with flowers around the bunkers, that was just me giving feedback from an RCR standpoint because it said feedback was appreciated.
But I'm sorry, your course thread wasn't the right place for me to start a LIDAR or RCR name philosophy discussion. Feel free to ignore me and take it as a couple free bumps to the top of a packed course release forum.

I have zero hard feelings from anyone. You know how much I love your work Petty and the things you come up with are things no one else can do. I do not even consider myself a member of the design community, and I just wanted to try my hand at something to see if it worked. I know a lot of people liked and this was my first opportunity at a full 18 hole course. I have one more that is almost done, and it will be just the most essential parts of the course to make it as authentic as possible.

Absolutely stunning course. I think the extra planting gives the course some extra pop. Definitely nothing short of 5 stars!
Swiftly working this into my societies schedule. Keep up the good work! Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Good lord I need to start a list of all the courses I need to play, so many coming out...... Do it. But don’t do it. Lol, it gets sad after a while. My list is always around 20 or 30 deep, including older courses from before I joined for inspiration of future designs

Brian, Dwayne. There really is only one way to settle this. 1v1 match play.
It'll draw a crowd!

I think we've just discovered who might have put a spanner in your Cypress works 😂

Really looking forward to playing this, it's on my (long) list of courses to play. This really is the golden age of course design in TGC, I can hardly keep up with all the outstanding courses being published at lightning speed every week. Good job, Dwain!

Played this on the show last night, a really challenging course as well as a lot of fun to play. Liked the personal aesthetic touches Dwain added here and there, as well. Nice job Dwain, looking forward to #3 being published!

Not sure how accurate it is but I really liked the course. Nice challenge with no assits. Looked awesome as well. Thanks for making. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190609/82c638cee918dabe907b130e5badc796.jpg)
