Oregon is awash in pot, glutted with so much legal weed that if growing were to stop today, it could take more than six years by one estimate to smoke or eat it all. Now, the state is looking to curb production. Five years after voters legalized recreational marijuana, lawmakers are moving to give the Oregon Liquor Control Commission more leeway to deny new pot-growing licenses based on supply and demand. Supply is running twice as high as demand, meaning that the surplus from last year's harvest alone could amount to roughly 2.3 million pounds of marijuana, by the liquor commission's figures. That's the equivalent of over 1 billion joints. Retail prices in Oregon for legal pot have plummeted from more than $10 per gram in October 2016 to less than $5 last December. This is a problem ...

We need more weed smokers. Maybe government can include weed with their handout packages. Just give it away to people.

Supply vs demand, hardy a problem to me, especially considering how damn easy it is to grow any dumb pot head could eventually figure it out lol. This is like complaining real estate values are too high, some people will just never be happy. $5 grams does sound pretty incredible.

It is a problem insomuch as there will be people who go bankrupt after leveraging everything they had into marijuana production.
A possible temporary solution would come if all states legalized marijuana use, but restrictions to limit producers would need to be put into place to prevent similar situations across the country.

Well if someone invested too much $$$ into growing pot that’s their fault, any idiot can see you can grow it in your own yard for virtually free (that’s what I do, grow outside all summer and harvest enough to last until the next bud cycle). Free market economy mate, driven by demand (the way it should work). Last thing we need is more governmental control and taxation on a “weed” that grows in the dirt. I have a medical Rx and the State tries to tax me on my meds lol good luck with that. Can’t wait for Michigan’s market prices to bottom out, I would have a lot of fun trying various $5 gram strains.

Feds need to legalize it but one has to wonder why they don't.

Actually, it isn't a problem. Opponents to legalization try to use the argument that it would create more people running around high all of the time. This information proves them wrong. As in proof, not theory. I think everything here in Nevada is going as expected except for the money not reaching the schools. But our new Governor is all over it to get there. If the Feds ever got cannabis off Schedule 1, you guys could export to Canada ..... hopefully w/o tariffs

Solution?
Canada’s cannabis industry is finally starting to shore up the chronic shortages that dampened excitement around recreational legalization, according to a BMO Capital Markets analyst.
“It appears that the industry supply is improving sooner than we had anticipated,” Tamy Chen wrote in a note to clients on Thursday.
Government retailers and private pot shops alike have suffered consistent supply issues since Canada legalized recreational cannabis on Oct. 17, 2018. The issue prompted Ontario’s government to slow the roll out of private retail stores, and Quebec’s province-run stores to reduce the days per week they are open.

Amazing plant I should admit:) I’m quite new to growing cannabis and starting a grow indoors for my personal use. Try to keep myself educated with resources like WeBeHigh.com. Any other decent resources to follow?

I quit drinking a couple of decades ago but I can say this much...having my "supply" on hand, vacuum sealed and stored in the root cellar, has been a very good thing during this crisis.

Are you serious??? I didn't thought about it. You are absolutely right dude. I was suffering from the terrible headaches. Thanks to my friend who was a vaper. He said me that there are some cbd juul compatible pods, which help to fight with pains knockoutcbd.com. I can say that this really helped me a lot to fight with the anxiety and simply calm down. My sleep also became really better. And due the good sleep I feel myself better during daytime and at the work as well.

Barr is a corrupt baztard. Period. Those clowns want the states to do and pay everything when it comes to covid. But states with successful cannabis industries get hated on. More political than anything else because I believe every state with legal rec and med are all blue states.

All drugs should be legal. Would greatly reduce crime and defund the popo. Win win right? Although it might leave certain people with no jobs. Like the ones you vote for.
