Mike Georgiades took to tee for his 2nd round with only his pride left to play for with low scores being handed out by the golfing gods like candy on Halloween, one can only imagine how Darryl & Victor must feel yet to tee off, with the #MustStopDarryl movement in full affect. Mike would start off with a par but would bogie the 2nd to again be +1 after 2 in what is becoming a theme this tournament for him, he would go on a tear making 6 birdies on the last 7 on the front 9. Speaking of themes hole #10 would once again bring him back down to earth with yet another bogie, Mike would go birdie, eagle, birdie on 11 through 13 and par 14 & 15. Then on 16 things would get interesting in more ways than one, with Mike in middle of his tee shot a lady in the gallery would yell out in middle of his swing “I LOVE DARRYL” causing Mike to miss time his shot and send it towards the creek, as luck would have it he would hit the bridge, get a great bounce that would turn into a 301 yard drive and go on to make birdie, birdies on the 17th & 18th would see him finish with an -11 2nd round, pride restored. A picture of the lady in question is pictured below who obviously run out of ink for her t-shirt (will Darryl stop at nothing in his quest for a 3 peat here on BCT)

There’s a buzz on the grounds of Timbercreek this morning because TV crews are getting into position for Darryl A. Montgomery’s 9:30am tee time with Victor Lane. Twitch will carry a live feed of every shot this duo takes. Paul Drislane has taken a commanding lead at -38 through three rounds, with Daniel Waring at -31. Looking through the leaderboard we see Justin Chantres at -29, Jeff McCord at -28, John Gripmore at -26, Hector Vazquez at -25, and Mike Georgiades at -23. Let’s not forget Preston Winthorpe III, now known as PW3, sitting at -26 after only two rounds, so he’s sure to be a factor for the win this week. One thing is for sure... the BCT is hot right now! After Darryl and Victor take the course there will be over 100 participants in this week’s event, numbers this tour hasn’t seen in ages. Seems like everybody wants a “Slice of the Action” gdog!

After opening rounds of 67 & 61 Mike would tee off in the 3rd round at -16 and try to avoid the bogies that have plagued him all week on the 1st 2 holes and we wouldn’t have to wait long at all, shooting bogie on the 1st again. He would grab that shot back on the 2nd with a birdie and also go on to make birdie on holes 5, 6 & 8 to be -3 at the turn. Mike would gain measure of revenge on Hole #10 shooting par on it in place of the 2 bogies from rounds 1 and 2. He would go on to shoot birdie on 12, 13 & 14 to be at -6 with 4 left to play but would only manage one more birdie on 17 for a 3rd round score of 65 -7 and now -23 for the tournament.

On to the 4th round, starting at -23 & tied with Victor Lane in equal 17th, would try to keep himself in the top 20 while just maybe getting the better of Victor Lane. Mike would start with birdie on the 1st but go on to bogie the 2nd but instead of succumbing to the pressure would Birdie 3, 4, 5 & 6 to be -4 after 6, Victor on the hand would start off slow only making birdie on holes 4 & 6 to find himself 2 back after 6, it would be now or never for Victor if wanted to catch Georgiades, Victor Lane would now use his vast experience to show why he is one the favorites every week. Mike could only manage par for the next 3 holes, Victor Lane on the other hand would birdie all three to take a 1 shot lead at the end of the front 9. Mike Georgiades now under all sorts of pressure in this mini battle with Victor Lane would have to tee off on the 10th a hole that he had only managed to par once thus far, an errant approach shot cost Georgiades again on the 10th as he made bogie to hand Victor a 2 shot lead after his par. They would both grab a birdie on 11, and then on the par 5 12th Victor would deliver the coup de grâce with a brilliant eagle, a blow that Mike could recover from even thou he would make his birdie. Mike would go on to make birdies on 13, 16, 17 & 18 in a valiant effort to force Victor into error but Victor Lane would simply match him when needed shooting birdies on 14, 17 & 18 to emerge Victorious in this thrilling little battle in the final round of the Sultans Of Swing Shootout by 2 shots with a final round -11 61 to Mikes -9 63.
Hat tip to Leo Bailey the designer of Timbercreek Canyon G.C. for making such beautiful & fun course for us to play on this week.

It wasn’t the best of weeks for Victor, as he just couldn’t get comfortable on this course right from the start of practice on Monday. There’s not a thing wrong with the track, but it just didn’t match his game apparently. The tone for the tournament was set on the first hole when Lane stuffed his approach to five feet, then proceeded to miss the birdie putt. He missed an 11-footer for birdie on hole two, and the rest was history. He did keep his FIR streak going until the middle of round two, but Timbercreek Canyon even took that from him, after playing ten and a half rounds without missing the short grass. Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Another streak that ended was Victor’s bogey-free streak, as he started R3 with a bad hole, and then made another bogey on hole 7 with a terrible three-putt. He was overheard yelling afterward at Captain Morgan, his caddie, “if you keep giving me bad reads I’m going to shove this putter right where the sun don’t shine!” Apparently that fires the duo up, because they went -17 over the final 29 holes to close out the event. Hopefully that gives them some momentum heading into next week, because yet another streak that will end is Victor’s top-ten finishes run. He’ll be lucky to crack the top fifteen at Timbercreek.

Finished at -35. Round 3 I played rather poorly, 29 putts ain't gonna get it done. Was cruising in Round 4, -10 through 14....and then, um yeah, I don't wanna talk about 15. Let's just say I played the whole spectacularly wrong and was lucky to escape with double bogey. Finished up with par par birdie to close out the week. Probably lose ground on the money list to McCord and Rogers. But honestly, only way anyone is gonna have a shot at catching McCord will be if he decides to not play for about 6 weeks.

Hi guys. I don't normally sign up to forums but I've been an avid reader of this Tour and seen the growing numbers recently and with the positive banter in here, which is a rarity nowadays(!), I thought I'd pop by and say hello.
Good luck to all on the BCT, especially Preston Winthorpe III in the current tournament who is looking good for his maiden victory with one round to play.
All the best.

After coming to the unfortunate realization that he wasn't going to win again this week, Darryl A. Montgomery fired up the RV and headed directly to the next tournament, but not before offering Victor a ride to save him some money. Lane was feeling pretty down in the dumps after a 15th place finish this week, so he gladly accepted the hitchhike to the next event, especially since his paycheck was barely high enough for the two bottles of rum and 12-pack of cherry coke that he was about to smash during the drive.
It's true that the last few weeks have been a decent start to their BCT careers, but this week Preston Winthorpe III was having none of it, getting downright nasty with a -52 to earn the victory. Furthermore, Paul Drislane put up a huge -48 for runner-up honors and was seven shots clear of third place, while BCT superstar Jeff McCord also finished with a nice score to grab a top 5. All of the "noobs" were scattered around the leaderboards this week, as Darryl A. Montgomery, Justin Chantres, Daniel Waring, Hector Vazquez, and John Gripmore all earned top 10's, it left Victor Lane and Mike Georgiades too far behind to be noticed.
Things won't get any easier in the weeks to come, as Jeremy Mayo has recently gained BCT status and will be making his debut in next week's event. The popularity of the BCT has never been higher here on TGC Tours, as the action is heating up! Congrats to PW3 on a great win!

It's difficult for Darryl to be upset with -41 this week. But when the competition shoot -51 with 3 rounds in the 50's, Darryl is allowed to feel a little upset. Ya, it's true that Darryl only arrived no less then 12 hours before his tee time and was seen partying in the RV until the sun came up. This probably didn't help his chances. A reporter quoted him as he was leaving this weeks event saying, "Ya, that behavior has to stop...it probably won't, but at least I realize that it should, right."
Meanwhile, congrats to PW3 on a great tournament that squashed Darryl's opportunity for 3 in a row. Here's hoping he only has 1 good knee-cap for next week ;-). Nice looking top 10 and good luck next week, kinda.

Um, we're all rich after this week, anyone check the payouts? We can maybe afford to go out to eat this week instead of brown bagging it the whole tourney.

Yea, not sure what’s up with that. I hope Darryl and Victor don’t get abusive with the extra funds.
