My two biggest peeves are: 1. When I'm coming up to a red light and want to turn right, and someone changes into the right lane in front of me just to go straight and make me sit through a 2 minute light sequence 2. Similar as above, but when turning left and you get an arrow, the first cars don't move until you need to honk or it turns yellow, and then they zip through leaving the rest of the line stuck another full sequence. UGH! Here in the UK i see both of them a lot. People who move off very slowly for a bit then floor it drive me up the wall. Green is green. Green isn't wait 5 years of my life then move off like a bloody tortoise then floor it to piss others off behind as well as make everyone wait again

Experts are people who have devoted the time to study and understand something. They are the people who know more than you or I. Listen to the experts instead of some guy who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Or your "feelings".
I've run into way too many people who claim to be experts on something, and I know for a "fact" not a feeling that they are total idiots. Yet people believe them because they are called experts.
fact.
proven.
I know what I see and hear. You don't know what I know, see, or hear. cause I don't know you and you aren't around me every day. or any day.
But we each have our opinions, and thats ok! we could argue about it all day, but it would be a waste of time and eventually rile us up, so lets get back to playing some golf!

I have been in a couple bad accidents because of morons behind the wheel but certainly been on the other side when I was young. Never caused a accident ( that I know of) but certainly could have. Lucky I lived to be honest. I don't even really speed anymore. Maybe 10 over max if do speed I think once you hit about 35 you slow down a bit.
I don't drive as much as I used to and live in a small town now so I don't get exposed to a lot of traffic. When I travel it's mostly highway so it's not that bad. I can drive 12 hours and that's my max. 8 is about perfect. It is actually relaxing at times. I have had good ideas come from long periods driving.
My numero uno thing I hate is when someone pulls out in front of you and then makes a quick left. That drives me nuts. Really you could not wait?

A 3 hour drive in the UK is long. I can't imagine driving for more than 4. It would be torturous.
It is why i would fly from where i am in the south of England to Scotland if i ever went there.

I was stationed in the UK while in the USAF. The first thing I did upon getting set up in country was to buy a car and travel as far north as we could. Took us forever but man o man....that Island nation is quite something to see from a driver's seat. 3 hour drive is long...I agree but you want long...2 trips, one trip from So. California to Yosemite (trip taken 12 times in 8 years)...average 8 hours across mostly desert like land (less time if you don't stop at all). The second trip...west coast to east coast in 2 1/2 days, driving straight through with my brother (pit stops/fast food drive ups only). Google says: 43 h (2,983.5 mi) via I-80 E and I-90 E On the cross country trip we were somewhere in the midwest and it was raining so hard we just stopped at the side of the road (as best we could) . I put my hand out the window and it disappeared in the rain. it lasted about 15 minutes and when it stopped, there must have been well over 100 cars just stopped everywhere.

My dream is to travel all over the states to all the theme/amusement parks in one trip. That would cost an arm and a leg. The travelling would be insane.

In my post when I talked about driving long distances it's usually for work unfortunately. Of course I have traveled for fun as well. But with young kids now we fly. It's to hard on the monkeys to sit in a car that long.
Two that stick out was from California to Indiana.
The other which I have done from a couple different places is the drive to Key West. I love Key West. If you have not been go.
The worst drive ever is Houston to Odessa TX. OMG it's like driving on the moon. There is nothing !

Would like to travel to Key West but I am not a Florida type guy so it would be just a visit. I agree with the southwest driving...moon/Mars take your pick it is a very monotonous drive. Come over a slight rise in the highway and the road just stretches out forever.

From universal to cedar point, carowinds, Hershey park, kings dominion(island?) to name a few from that trip. Before great adventure got kinda ka but it's on my list now. Also something over 500 feet is coming to Orlando soon so that will be interesting

I have managed to do Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm and both California Disney parks. I am off to visit Carowinds on the 13th of April and cannot wait. Fury 325 has been on my bucket list for a while now. I just cannot afford or have enough holiday to do massive road trips around the states. It is so frustrating when it is what i love doing and i have been solo on all those trips i mentioned and for someone with social anxiety it really takes something special to get me out.

I don't think anybody has mentioned people who jump red lights. That's is highly annoying as well as illegal. The most annoying are cyclists who don't 'try to nip through' but blatantly go through a red light to try and get through the junction while other lights are on green. If you're cycling on the road, you follow the same Highway Code as everybody else. I once nearly ran a cyclist over because he went through a red light like how I mentioned. Of course he got angry, to which I replied "if you won't follow the Highway Code by going through red lights, don't expect me to follow the Highway Code and give you room".
You have to be a lot more careful these days with how more people have cameras on their helmets/bikes/in their vehicles.

This is the one that gets me...
Most of the lights on our main thouroughways are timed so if you do the speed limit you'll most likely hit all the green lights. But there's always those people who wont do the speed limit but blow through red light late. Boggles my mind. You'll only do 53 in a 60 but you have no problem speeding up to dangerously go through an intersection late...and as an added bonus they get the vehicles behind them to have to stop to cause they figured that 7 km/h wasn't worth it.

Here in the UK we pay road tax and they should pay some sort of bike tax if they want to ride their bikes on the road, simple. I am guessing a lot of people here ride bikes and i don't mean to offend you but when cyclists run red lights and then complain about how CAR drivers are driving then please just bugger off and break your bike in half, thanks

I thought I was a good driver at about 30. Had done advanced driving courses before getting my licence (thanks mum and dad, every parent should do this), got my CAMS (Motorsport) licence and had driven rally cars for 3 seasons for a guy who realised after my first year of co driving that I was considerably quicker and safer than he was.
At 30 I went back to Uni and became a taxi driver at nights. Let me tell you, doing 500 city km each night will sharpen your skills like nothing else. I had a mate also drove and he told me when I started that it would improve my driving. I figured I was already a better driver than him and dismissed it, but what he said was right. It’s a skill that a lot of people don’t practice, and should.
One big one I can’t understand is people falling asleep behind the wheel. Id work Friday night, get maybe an hours sleep then go to cricket on Saturday, play all day then work the Saturday night - and it would still take me hours to wind down and get to sleep once I was home on Sunday morning. If you’re relaxed enough to sleep, you’re not concentrating on the road.
