Been reading a lot of threads and data on how penile using Xbox on Master Clubs is in comparison to PS4 - it's pretty damning reading for an aspiring TGC Tours competitor trying to climb the ranks!
Has anyone on here switched from Xbox to PS4 and if so how did they find it?
I want to use Master Clubs but not on the basis of the Q-School Xbox data that suggests doing so gives you an unnecessary handicap.
The other option is to wait for the new game to come out but surely that won't fix sensitivity issues with the Xbox One controller unless 2k completely remodel what is a fairly good swing mechanic.
I'd really appreciate some input here before I blow money on another console!

Has anyone on here switched from Xbox to PS4 and if so how did they find it? The winners of last week's Euro ( alexandre) and PGA ( daddyjules) events on TGCT are very recent converts to PS4 (from XB1), so read into that what you will.

It's a shame because I think Master Clubs on Xbox is actually a fairly good representation of the struggles in golf i.e. the occasional duff OB - it would actually be nice if it was like that on all platforms. Unfortunately I'm a competitive golfer in real life and if I'm going to play TGCT then I want to get as good as I can - even if it's about to cost me £350 Sod's law they fix the issue a few months after my purchase!

Quick question for you Larry as I see you were quite involved with the Q-School data for PP%. Is it the same disparity with PS4 Pro versus Xbox One X? Thanks in advance

Quick question for you Larry as I see you were quite involved with the Q-School data for PP%. Is it the same disparity with PS4 Pro versus Xbox One X? Thanks in advance No idea I'm afraid, and my analysis wasn't nearly as revealing as the admins', as I was using scores only, whereas they had comprehensive tempo and straightness data for all players across the 3 platforms. I doubt their data distinguished between different versions of the consoles though. Frankly it's a mystery and probably impossible to pinpoint the precise cause, since with pro clubs XB1 players' tempo is actually a bit better than PS4 players, it's only with master clubs that there was a huge drop-off. For an anomaly that bizarre I doubt even HB knows how to fix it (assuming they would want to, but most likely they don't care as cross-platform is a TGCT issue only). As an aside, during the few days I was without internet recently I played in offline mode and found tempo to be extraordinarily easy, it reminded me of PS4 tempo in fact (I bought a PS4 last year on TGC2 just to try it out, tempo was definitely way easier but I couldn't live with the crappy visuals so gifted the PS4 on and went back to PC). So I think there may be some merit to the idea, which I always assumed was paranoid whinging, that connection issues may interfere with tempo readings in some way (perhaps due to frame rates?). No idea if or how that's an issue with XB1 as well but yeah, it's weird. I'm guessing the devs tested tempo repeatedly in offline mode and found it to be working perfectly, so it wouldn't be the best idea to start fiddling with it on the off-chance some wonky connection issue arises during online play.

Cheers Larry, I've always thought that it was a connectivity issue and would sometimes have to freeze my swing Tiger style when seeing the loading circle come up mid-swing.
It's a tough one because when playing in solo mode on Xbox on Master Clubs I shoot -6 / -7 on average but that doesn't cut any mustard on TGCT - with Pro clubs I can compete comfortably on CC-Pro but getting beyond that requires Master Clubs which I'm finding difficult on Xbox because those random V.Fast tempos go off the planet!
I was thinking of getting the Xbox One X because I hear the graphics are ridiculous on this game but I'm finding it really hard to not lump for a PS4 Pro with slightly worse graphics, just so I can whip the Master Clubs out and aim for the pro tours.
Decisions!
Thanks for your help

As a PS4 user, purely anecdotal but because my tempo with Pro clubs is nearly always perfect but on the fast side, when I try to play with Masters clubs I'm fast/very fast nearly every single shot, on top of the fact that my swing is barely straight enough for Pro and is a bit of a disaster with Masters. I'm glad I'm not good enough to get promoted from CC-A because if I was forced to use Masters I'd have to endure a few weeks of hacking around in the deep rough and missing cuts before coming back home to the CC. (Last week I finished 42nd in CC-A with Pro clubs and played the Web.com tournament with Masters for a lark - my score would have left me rock bottom of the leaderboard). Just saying that if you're anything like me, a PS4 won't necessarily solve your issues

Thanks Paul, I impulsed bought the PS4 Pro...
I'll play on this for a few weeks and will post my findings on here in case anybody is interested.
I'd say I'm a very straight swinger but just find in Master Clubs on Xbox the marginal fast's and marginal slow's mean you're outside of 15ft and rarely making birdie (this still happens with pro clubs but only once or twice a round so it's not as bad).
I'll keep you posted.
Currently in CC-D after doing mid season Q-school with Master Clubs and getting allocated CC-E, I'm about 4 events into my career so still early doors. If you see me in CC-A soon then it has been a success haha

So...
Fired up the new PS4 Pro last night and here's the early assessment;
Despite the PS4 Pro being the latest generation of console, the graphics on this console are not as good as my bog standard first gen Xbox One. Very surprised by this as have a 4k 55 inch TV so was expecting to see a marked improvement - I'd hate to see what the normal PS4 pumps out graphically.
As for the game play, it will take some getting used to the controller - I swing left stick on the Xbox so am trying to adjust to a new hand position which is creating a swing line like this (/) - very in-to-out swingpath.
As for tempo - you have to swing much faster on PS4 to get P-P, definitely prone to a P-S swings on PS4 whilst on Xbox my bad shot was a P-F. I'm thinking this will actually be beneficial as in real life I have a very brisk swing tempo.
I don't think I will be able to make a full assessment until I've spent some time on the range ironing that swing out a little but will have to chop and change with the Xbox this week as looking like I've made the cut in the True Sim event so will have two more rounds before I banish the Xbox to the draw for a while!
If anyone has any tips for switching from Xbox to DS4 controller it will be well received!

The graphical drop was pretty shocking 😱 the more i play i get used to it but cant deny i miss playing with crisp 4k. Not got much advice on the swing change, Just bare with the ps4 controller. After a few days i was getting quite pissed off and didnt feel any more consistancy with the swing. Putting line was my worse and took some time getting it sorted. Something finally clicked a couple of weeks back now and consistant tempo and straighter putting has kicked my game up that notch i needed to compete.

I was kind of shocked to read someone thought the graphics on ps4 pro weren't any good. I went from a ps4 to a ps4 pro, got anew sony top end 4k tv with HDR and the results were amazing. Games looks so different, but in a good way. Trees look better and the colors are just so vivid. I actually have the game on my laptop which is a higher end laptop and the game plays in 1080p at some ridiculous framerate well over 100...and the pro just destroys it graphically...sorry you didn't have the same result

I should probably correct myself;
I made my comments on first glance playing a HB course, since then I’ve played a few of my own designs and the PS4 Pro is definitely sharper than my original Xbox one but not by a lot. I never had a PS4 original but I gather the graphics were sh%$! I’ve heard the Xbox one x is on an even different level but after playing on PS4 Pro for a week, I’m not going back to a disadvantage, in the last week since switching I’ve not had a single very fast or very slow using Master Clubs. When I was on Xbox master clubs I would have 3-4 a round.
The difference is black and white, it’s unreal.
On Xbox I was scraping around with Pro Clubs on CC-D, just played the Web for an experiment with Master Clubs and I would have finished T-22 this week.
Here’s my conclusion after this massive upheaval;
Stop using Xbox if you have TGCT ambitions!!

Question, I just completed Q-school today on Xbox One. I have the game on PS4 also, can we play on either system? Or do we need to go through Q-school again on PS4?
For the graphics, are you connecting both systems to HDMI 1? I can't remember which system it is, Xbox or PS4 but one recommends using HDMI port 1. Once I did that I can't tell much difference between the 2. If I'm on HDMI 2 my PS4 will look like 720p vs 1080i.
As far as the swing tempo, I will say on Xbox One I will have the random very fast or very slow on the follow-thru. I do not notice this on the PS4. I use the left-analog stick as my swing stick on both systems. I do however notice on my Xbox One I can hit it almost perfectly straight up and straight down, like a perfect line (using master clubs on both systems) and on the PS4 it will vary, not perfectly straight up and down each time, but still be perfect-perfect.

I love how sensitive the swing is on Xbox master clubs for casual playing. Feels very authentic to the struggles of real golf. I do get the occasional random very fast when I know it wasn’t though.
For tour I choose to use pro clubs just so I can at least hold my head above water.
I want to work on my true sim game because I feel there are more realistic scores there
