Anyone else noticing the new Lidar courses are too much for Xbox to handle? Have tried playing both Purgatory and Jack Nicklaus @ reunion Lidar courses and they crash in the middle of round and sometimes do not load and crashes the game.
As exciting as the new courses are and the future looks bright, if they are not playable due to the game console not being able to handle it, then I will be highly disappointed.
Just looking to see if anyone else has noticed this or if it is just me and my xbox

We streamed an Xbox alt shot on Purgatory the other night and it took an age to load, plus crashed the game of one of our group. We did get to play it eventually, one fourball was completed while the other crashed on the 15th. Not so lucky with the Nicklaus course, just kept crashing the game while it was loading up. We gave up on that one

I have played Purgatory a couple times no issues. I did noticed it took longer to load. I do have a Xbox X and a SSD so I'm guessing that helps a lot. SSDs really help loading.
Not sure what you have though OP.
I will bring this up on the xbox forum . We have a good thread going about set ups over there.
I have not played the other course yet but I will try today.

I seem to be able to play Purgatory by myself but with any friends it crashes. Jack Nicklaus crashes no matter what I do which is a shame because it looks like a beautiful course. Is your SSD separate from the xbox or is that built into the new ones? Does having the 4K version of the Xbox help? I know my xbox does not have it but works fine on my 4K TV. I have the original xbox one so I am sure it is getting to the point where I should invest in a new one.

I bought it separately to increase load times. Mainly for PUBG. It makes a huge difference in that game with rendering. It also makes this game load faster. Let me try and load up the JN course. See if it has no issues.

I managed to play both on the Xbox although they did take longer to load up. I'm guessing if folk are having problems with crashes, that this would make them ineligible for the tours then, which isn't great.

It loaded but took a long time. The longest I have seen.
I played 3 holes with a turn based ghost and it was smooth. Don't have time to play all 18.
It could be the OG Xbox can't handle it and a SSD would help you or the X can handle it without the SSD. Be better if you could just buy the X and solve it. Be kinda pointless to put any money into the OG Xbox.
I asked some guys who have the X with no SSD over at the HB forums. Feel free to go over there.
Go to the Xbox section and there is a really good thread about the X and 4 K setups. Probably answer a lot of the questions you have about the X and 4 K.

Very helpful I will take a look at the HB forum section for xbox one and 4k setups. I may need to invest in a SSD. One last question, while using the external SSD have you noticed if any of the courses people typically complain about lag at (Kass mountain for example) if you have experienced as much lag as those of us without the SSD? That may also be answered on the other forum threads as you mentioned so I will check.

I hope it will not be the "norm" for lidar courses to require a modified setup to be able to play. Thanks for checking on your end. I myself am excited to see what creators will come out with using this new system but hopefully that means I can play them!

Comment from my thread in the lidar section:
I know Gdog managed to finish a ground on Purgatory with his XBOX.
What is the latest XBOX versions? Is it the X BOX ONE?
Anyone want to loan me an XBOX to look into things or is willing to play some junk courses so I can try to push the limits and see what happens?
Any PS4 users? Any issues?
-------------------------
It sounds like there's an issue with the "original xbox"? Is that the one from Halo? Or is there an original xbox one?
Anyway, to figure it out, I need someone who has the problem console to get in touch with me and I'll publish a series of courses of progressively more taxing resources and determine where the limitation is.
Something like: Resource meter filled from planting (a "normal" course) Various lidar terrain test courses (just plotting some mathematical functions as test cases)
If anyone is near the Las Vegas area and has one of the "original" consoles, that would speed up me finding the issue. In all likelihood, there's something about this XBOX that would crash on normal courses so if I can find what that is, I can make a minimal report and post it on the HB forums. I tested on a lower-end PC.

Oh no, there’s three?!?!? Xbox ones? Xbox one Xbox one s And Xbox one x ...... I’ll need to know which one EVERYONE in the foursome has and any ssd/upgrades you did... I’ll do my best here, but please be patient. It will be difficult to evaluate based on the possibilities and that this is all in my free time/without HB’s help.

I have the S aka slim. No bells/whistles/ssd. If you want me to play courses to help fine tune, I'd be happy to help chad.
