I’ve played 11 Lidar courses produced so far and not one crash on an Xbox One X From the comments in this thread, I think it is those of us with the original xbox one that suffer the most, your experience definitely adds weight to that claim. I've got the original Xbox One and have only had problems when trying to play against/with others. So far...

By the way, I notice Chief Banks has scheduled a Lidar course in the new CUCC season starting soon (Xbox only). That'll be a good test of whether we might have a problem.

Yeah, i have played this one with no problems (solo) there has been multiplayer issues with it but i think it should be ok in the society. Im expecting it to be fine. We will see.

I loaded up Cabot last night, loaded up fine in about 1 minute. Strange how it's having different effects on different people with the same equipment. Did you see Yeltzman's tip in the shoutbox yesterday about clearing your cache? statelyowlI’ll give it a shot tonight and see if it helps

Ok so the experiment was a success!
After unplugging from the wall for 20seconds and loading up a normal course, I was then able to load up both Nicklaus and Cabot.
So guess the unplugging frees up some Xbox cache or memory to enable this to work.

It would be an interesting workaround, but a welcome one.

And if at all possible, please be strict with the procedure and all do the same things. If you have time, I’d love for: 1) Clear cache exactly the same way. Use a stopwatch for 30 seconds? 2) play a “practice round on the course on your own” sometime before the event 3) clear cache AGAIN right before the event, all timing the same time - 30 seconds again? 4) immediately power on, launch the game, and go through your round i know it’s a lot to do and be sure of, but if there’s a chance this works, I don’t want anyone to get discouraged or have different results because we weren’t on the same page about when and how to clear the cache.

Update:
I am going to give my xbox a good test of strength this coming weekend since it will be raining and I will not be able to play golf IRL...I will try clearing my cache as well before hand.
I will be trying to play the following Lidar courses as a test to see which ones my xbox can handle. Again as a note, I have the original xbox one, no external hard drives.
- Jack Nicklaus @ Reunion - Musket Ridge - Merion East GC - Fishers Island Club - Sunday River CC - Cliffs at Olympic (9 hole course) - Purgatory
I have attempted to play a couple of these with friends in private match play and had issues with crashing, when I play them by myself they take ages to load and sometimes more lag than usual during play. I am going to play all of the above by myself and also attempt a few with friends to see what happens.

We'll let you know Success, we had the 2 x 4 man alt shot matches running on Sunday River. Key was everyone had unplugged the Xbox from the wall prior to clear the cache. gdog you may want to call this out on WGO so more are aware of how to make Lidar work on Xbox.

Sorry this is necessary, but I'm glad we're seeing some success. For now I'd recommend everyone doing this prior to every round on lidar courses. Thanks for being careful and getting good results, statelyowl !
