Already watched them :-) I’ve got the links saved as they are the best full resource I’ve found so far.

All looking good so far Reeb and no problem with helping out. The OSM mapping is tricky without having a PC to do the import against the various different map overlays to see which fits best and you can also shift the map in OSM to make it line up better. The good news is my PC arrives tomorrow so that will make things a lot easier... There are loads of great courses up here to get sorted Royal Birkdale Royal Lytham Hillside St Anne's old links West Lancashire Southport and Ainsdale You missed off Hesketh.

Hesketh, Caldy, Royal Liverpool, Wallasey (which I've already mapped in OSM ). There are a lot of good courses on the Wirral too

Oh good. I've played Wallasey once and it was pissing down with rain and blowing a gale. It will be nice to be able to play it when I can see properly.

Progress is being made but I’m not really satisfied with just lining things up. Been working on bunkers and greens a bit to make them a bit more natural and to reflect the actual playing of the course rather than just the lidar/map

Well don’t mess too much with the first par 3 as that looked just as I saw it a month ago. The bunkers on the left were that steep and the green had those slopes. For what it’s vworth

I may add some sand up the hillsides a tiny bit. Also the textures are kinda of ok but still playing.

Played this a couple of years back and loved it for the same reasons you do, I think - that lovely mix between old school links and tree-lined heathland. Some of my favourite holes ever are at Formby, notably near the start and end of the round. I felt it gets a bit straight par 4 heavy in the middle of the back nine, but perhaps just due to the variety the course has near the end of the front nine. The ninth hole is probably one of the best par fours I've ever played.
