I know. It's pretty easy to get lost between the 2 courses as well. The first few times you play there you can easily find yourself teeing off on the wrong course I've roughly mapped out the first 9 holes in OSM if you want to have a look at them and see if you're happy with the level of detail. I know there are discussions on the amount of points used for mapping as some people will move the splines around once you are in the designer. I've gone for relatively few points in the fairways so you can move them around easily however I've put more effort into getting the right shapes for the bunkers and greens. Let me know what you think and I'll finish off the back 9 Andy

haven't touched this at all but it's off just a LITTLE bit. I'll mess with the offset to get it right. I'll also mess with the trace as the scale seems a little off on some tee boxes and greens (just a little wide). I'll see about fixing it from a spline width first though. Could turn out fun! some pretty flat holes to start but things get fun later.

Holes 7 and 8 are pretty interesting with the elevation changes you get from tee to fairway and then back up to the greens

I’ll pull the new file in when I get home. I’ll post some unaltered pics when I get the terrain matched up.

I played this course a month ago and can't wait to play your version, looking great so far.

it'll be a fun project to finish. This is LITERALLY just a first import of the entire course. Been doing bits and pieces and tweaking. Likely will need some championship tees on some holes to make it viable as a tournament track but it'll make for a fun match play course for sure.

Formby Golf Club
Why? I just kinda dig the look of the place. :-) seems like my wheelhouse and could be fun. Thoughts? Did my PGA training course at Formby Hall (next door). Playing this course soon with a few mates. It's very highly regarded, as are all the courses in Southport.

All looking good so far Reeb and no problem with helping out. The OSM mapping is tricky without having a PC to do the import against the various different map overlays to see which fits best and you can also shift the map in OSM to make it line up better.
The good news is my PC arrives tomorrow so that will make things a lot easier...
There are loads of great courses up here to get sorted
Royal Birkdale Royal Lytham Hillside St Anne's old links West Lancashire Southport and Ainsdale

So...what I'm finding so far is that there is a LOT of tweaking needed to make these things work properly. THat's ok as a lot of the heavy lifting is done for you. However, some courses are not as plug and play as others it must be. HA! I found some good visual info on Formby and getting the right look is going to be hard but doable. Should be a good time though and good practice for more to come.

Reeb, Mark Crossfield did a series of videos of playing the course in 2015 which will give you some good looks at various holes and the general flora and fauna etc.
