Is the export .course a quick process? I've followed the steps and everything seemed to be working fine - but when I go to export course (last step) TGC Tools goes into a (not responding) with spinning wheel - not sure if I just need to wait it out?

Also, say I make a mistake like this - and have to close down TGC Tools - is there a way to load up all my work I had done to this point after restarting the program? It's my 2nd time going thru since I thought I did something wrong but I'm getting same result on last step. Would love to be able to just reload up to the point I had completed before trying to export.

Export should be a very quick process. There are still errors or workflows people expect that I didn't anticipate.
Does the course show up in the black preview panel?
Does anything print in the cmd window that pops up with the main GUI window?

The heightmap to OSM step is designed so that you can import new/updated OSM features each time, so that part doesn't get saved. When you successfully export the course, it will save your course into the local folder working files, so it should be the same as when you last exported it.

Course does show up but I'm not sure if it's missing parts or not - I don't have any OSM features to import - it's just terrain for now- I'll take some pics this time thru
Just confirming - if I do the lidar import and mask and then I hard close the program due to it hanging at the export course step - I don't have to redo that lidar import again? When i restart TGC Tools it goes back to default/blank slate - so I've been restarting from the start of the tutorial each time

Sweet heavens, that's a lifesaver! Hopefully 3rd time's a charm!

OK, still hanging and nothing in the cmd window- can I send files over so you have a look chadgolf? If so, do I just send over the course, heightmap.npy, mask.png and unpacked folder?

A reboot fixed this issue, maybe worth a try if someone else has issues. Could be that another program or Windows wasn't allowing files to be modified.

OK just to double back - I had same issue tonight, no reboot but I did restart the program by right clicking and "run as administrator" - which then saved the course w/ no issues - in case others have basic skills like me and don't run their own computer lol.

Sounds like there's some permissions errors. Maybe your antivirus/or you're running as a "Basic" account. Either way, good to hear that you have a solution. It's not a good idea to run programs as Administrator, but you can trust mine for now until I want to take over this forum.
