Thanks! The Press Tent will be a feature on TGC Tours where you can come in after a round or tournament and answer some questions from the press. You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Reminder: Please include your leaderboard name in your post or in the Tour Name portion of your forum profile so that our reporters can make the connection between your Press Tent posts and your leaderboard names. Thx! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!

I'm on top of the leaderboard! I know it wont last but hey this is a fun view from up here.
Highlight of round: Nothing in particular, played a solid round but all in all was just average put a few shot stiff on holes but left 2 or 3 out there. Overall happy with the performance though.
I love this course as I seem to be able to shoot my usual six under that doesnt make a dent on the leaderboard but has more gravity here. Im all for tough courses with soft greens. Id much rather have small landing areas and roll off zones where the ball can stick than lightning greens. When the wind picks up it is a beast. Great fun and hope to be around for the weekend.

An Early Finisher Into The Press Tent Is Andi Smith, MORNING ANDI, Morning, hows your nose, lol. AH EM, SO HOW DID U FIND IT OUT THERE?Suprisingly rather good thanks , a steady 64 -6, to begin, its definatly the toughest test so far this season. HOW IS THE COURSE BEHAVEING?Personally it behaved itself well , the trick is not to miss fairways here, because if you do, boy can it bite you in the tee peg , greens are receptive but a bit on the slow side for my liking. WHAT ARE YOUR ASPIRATIONS FOR THE WEEK?What a silly question, cor dear you know every week what my goals are, really? YES, REALLY, Well obviously as always stick it to Tony McGettigan and Nathan Allen, lol , but more importantly for myself to finish higher than last week, need to keep getting WGR points as the WGC is just around the corner. ANYTHING PLEASE YOU ABOUT TODAYS ROUND?Yes I finished under par, but my putting was better than usual, maybe the slow greens suit me after all, but I have a feeling that they will suit the putt smashers, Tony McGettigan a little more as he will be 4ft not 12ft past the hole, lol. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ANDI, SEE YOU AFTER ROUND TWO.Thanks that you will, and I'd get somebody to look at that nose if I was you, lol.

Q. The winds out there reached +20mph at times how did you fell you coped out there?
A.Well Steve i wouldnt say i coped, more like i survived out there!Just a slight pull shot at times and i was 60 yards wide of the target,it was hard to keep the concentration going out there!
Q.A 69 then you finished the round with must be pleasing?
A.Yea sure i would have bit my hand off for a 69 if i was offered that score on the 1st tee,but i still had chances of a few birdies if my putted had help up!
Q.7 shots off the lead then after round 1 ,looking ahead to tommorow what will be your plan?
A.All i can do is hope and prey that the winds are calm for my second round and that just maybe others out there get the same winds that i have!!

Hi Brad, you look a bit stunned there, are you OK?
Erm, yeah I'm er, well, erm, what just happened?
You just played a round of golf at Hidden Links how did you get on?
Sorry, I was miles away there. I just threw away a great round of golf is what I did. I think this is a great course, maybe I got a little complacent after a hot start?
Yes I saw that, what went wrong?
Well I was cruising along at -6 after 7 or 8 holes then everything started to unravel. I found the deepest pot bunker ever on the par three, the wind which was supposed to be blowing from right to left did nothing to my ball, it rolled in so I wasn't buried but I had to make sure I got the ball out and left it about 17 feet away and missed the putt.
From there on I was just missing my targets by inches, if you don't land the ball in exactly the right spot around here on some holes you will struggle for par. The wind seemed to increase on every new hole I played too! I made a lot of mental mistakes out there, perhaps too much practice golf on the wrong type of courses didn't help? A round that should have been somewhere in the 50's ended up being a modest 62.
So what's the plan now?
Well I'm going to have to put that round behind me and concentrate on the next one. I know I can play well around here, I just have to stop making mistakes, 3 bogies on my card isn't good enough.
Thanks for your time
No problem

Early in to the tent is Andi Smith
HELLO ANDI,
Hi hows it hanging?
EXCUSE ME?
Just asking how you are, that's all.
OH, GOOD THANKS, ANYWAY HOW WAS ROUND 2?
Well much the same as round one really, 62 -8, steady eddie as they say.
DO YOU THINK YOUR 36H TOTAL OF -14 WILL BE ENOUGH?
Well I certainly hope so, getting the hang of this making cut thing aint I? lol,
DID U HAVE ANY ISSUES IN ROUND TWO?
No not really apart from my GIR could be a lot better, i seem to be missing the greens, but only marginally, so if I'm here for the weekend that has got improve if I am to compete this week.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR NOW THEN?
Im just going to whack a few on the range and then I feel like having a sing on the karaoke, might even do my rendition of UB40'S RED RED WHINE, just for my auld buddy Tony McGettigan, but then he likes to sing when hes playing well so he will probably do a version of REO speedwagons , I CANT FIGHT THIS FEELING ANYMORE.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?
Let me give u a quick verse, ahem, cough, ahem,,,, I CANT FIGHT THIS FEELING ANYMORE, I'VE FORGOTTEN WHAT THIS PUTTERS USEFULL FOR, I WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO USE IT ANYMORE, I WANT TO THROW IT STRAIGHT INTO THE SHORE FOREVER, there u go just a little snipit, lol,
COR BLIMEY NO OFFENCE ANDI BUT U CANT SING,
>:DF*"k you, see you on Saturday if im here, bye.
OH DEAR I THINK I WILL HAVE TO DO A BRITNEY SPEARS COVER NOW, OOOPS I DID IT AGAIN, I P*@+*D ANDI OFF, HA HA, NO WONDER I GOT PUNCHED LAST WEEK, OH WELL WHOS NEXT IN TO THE PRESS TENT........

Hi there sir, how may I help you?
Sa-wat-dee kraup... ... Kia Ora? ...... You alright bro? My cousin can't make the interview, said something about being fined so I have come in his place. Sweet As? Err yes thats ok. I assume your cousin is Acid Flashback?
That's the one my bro. I am here to do the interview, so he don't get fined... truth is, he is still hurting from the binge we had in the States and the Super Bowl. Brutal week. Hes frazzled and a little lost, which explains his golf, if thats what you call it. He got off to an early start, one of the first to tee off. Was a little windy wasn't it?
Yeah, we were straight off the pane, no sleep for 2 days, Acid was mumbling some incoherent madness, something about wind waiting and making the cut. Well this course requires you be on your game, you know. All six senses operating in unison... does that make any sense cuz?
Sure, it's best not to play golf on the end of a binge?
That be my advice.
Why wasn't it?
Bro are you crazy?! Have you seen Acid on the arse end of a binge? Thats some scary stuff there bro. So Acid ended up shooting even par day one. I was quite impressed at times, I think the alcholo seeping from his pores actually transformed to a vapour which he inhaled on hole 18! He hit this massive 4 iron into about 8 feet... not special except it was a head wind of 18 mph, a hole that is 470 odd yards tansformed into a monster into the wind. Anyway, he birdied that and was on a toxic fume addrelliean rush and partied till 7am the next day and the rest is history.
Yes, a FIVE over in round two. Do you think Acid needs an intervention or maybe to drop down a level?
Hell, no. What Acid needs is to lay off these thai sticks... ill grab a few for later thanks... and practice at the golf club rather than at the bar. Till next time.

We Welcome Andi Smith into the tent, HI ANDI HOWS ARE YOU, WE ALL HEARD YOU ON THE KARAOKE?Hi I'm well thanks, did you hear me and acidflash, cor blimey that fella can party. YES UNFORTUNATELY WE DID, HOW WAS YOUR THIRD ROUND?Brilliant I could not have asked for as better round everything just fell into place, again played nice and steady eddie again , but the difference was a few more putts dropped which helped get the 58 -12, plus I hit a few more greens, lol. AN EAGLE ALWAYS HELPS? :DCertainly does, I recorded one on a par 5 on the back nine, happy days. WHAT ARE YOU HOPING FROM ROUND 4?Well much of the same really, I would ideally like a top 5 finish now if I can put a half decent round together but we will see what happens. Can I ask you something?OF COURSE Do players not like you or something because you don't interview many players in here? :'(I DONT KNOW REALLY, I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING, BEEN A QUIET WEEK FOR ME. ANYWAY ANDI THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME AND I'LL INTERVEIW YOU AFTER ROUND 4.You certainly will, see you then.

Hi Brad, you look a bit happier after rounds two and three, how did it go?
Thanks yeah, I played much better. I got of to a really hot start in round two, just like round one. But this time I didn't blow it and finished with a pretty good 58. It could have been a little better but I was happy with it. No bogies made all the difference. Then round three was more of the same, great start which included this shot on hole 5 I ended up with a 59, which again could have been better, but satisfactory I guess? It just seems to be the middle part of your rounds that you lose some momentum?
Yes, all three days I have started off very well and maybe lose a little focus in the early part of the back nine, but in the last two rounds I have pulled it back towards the end of my round which is pleasing. You have put yourself in a great position going in to the final day, what are your goals?
My goal is to win the tournament if I can? I just need to not make any mistakes and put in a low last round. There are many great players who have a chance as well if they go low. But after last weeks debacle at the Maybank Malaysian Open it is just nice to be in with a shot of taking the title here, my form has definitely improved since then. This is a great course where you don't have to to birdie 90% of the holes to compete, which I like. Smart play, rather than all out aggression is the way to go around here. Thanks for your time and good luck
Thank you

Andi Smith enters the tent for the last time this week, HELLO ANDI, HOW ARE YOU FEELING?Hi, I am as happy as a driver with a head cover on a cold day. WOW, THATS A STATEMENT, WHY ARE YOU SO HAPPY?I got another top 5 finish, but most of all I beat me auld arch enemy Tony Mcgettigan for the 1st time in 3 weeks, atleast I got that monkey of my back, lol , its now 3 higher finishes a piece, game on, lol. HOW DID YOU FAIR IN ROUND 4?Well not as well as round 3, managed a good solid 64 -6, but the GIR situation arose once again plus my putter seemed to want a day off again the lazy little thing, but hey ho happy with the overall performance, now I just want to try and follow it up at Red Diamond next week. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS NOW THEN, AND PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF MY EAR DRUMS DONT SAY KARAOKE?Ha Ha Ha , no your quite safe, for now anyway , im just going to relax a bit now and as I've already said prepare for next week, going to need a big score next week a par may end up feeling like a bogey. ANY SUPRISES ON THE LEADERBOARD THIS WEEK?In a way no because all the players in the field where top quality, but I would like to congratulate Gary Stock for his 1st top ten finish, and Tom Humphries for his second top ten in consecutive weeks, and last of all to Bradley Garcia on his maiden European Tour victory. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME THIS WEEK ANDI, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK.Your welcome, thanks and see you next week and safe travels.

Kevin, How are you feeling after that final round?
It was really an up and down round, but was able to pull off a -7 on the back with 2 eagles after an even front 9. Looking up at the leaderboard, I am ecstatic as it looks like I have my first top 25 of the season, I think I am finally turning the corner and will hopefully continue this good form in India. We will have to wait and see, but no press tent tantrums from me this week!

Tony Mc Gettigan is next into the press tent, Tony,a 20 under total for the tourney, your thoughts please? My thoughts are thank god that tourneys over . Contrary to what mouth almighty Andi Smith has said in here, i struggle on slow greens. So relieved to come away with a 20 under total in truth. Yes Andi Smith refered to u as a putt smasher, care 2 elaborate on that?Certainly. Im one of those golfers who hates nothing more than having a putt come up short by an inch having had a good read so i do tend to hit my putts firm-ish to give my putt every chance of going in, Andi Smith would probably agree with me on this,he's missed a putt from several inches before he should be named Andi 'Sally' Smith So overall your content with your weeks work in Thailand?Yes and No is the honest answer to that question, content i managed to salvage a 20 under total but also dissapointed how i placed as i ended up Tied 43rd,my worst finish of the european season so far. In hindsight though that was due to the fact the average score of the field here was quite low @ hidden links so credit to all who excelled here this week Final thoughts on the tourney as a whole?
Well i think it was a good challenging course which was welcome by most here i'd say,i like the tougher courses personally, just not the slow greens well done to Bradley Garcia on winning the event with an impressive score n to my auld buddy Andi 'Sally' Smith on yet another top 5 finish!!I will need 2 invest in a good set of ear plugs. well done also to Tom Humphries,Ian Sweeney n Nathan Allen on having a solid tourney as wellThanks for your time Tony!!Pleasure!!
