Now that I’m done, I’ll actually have time to play them all. I have a top three already in mind just from what I’ve seen. Now they have to live up to it. If Cypress is in your top 3, I won't refer to your course as the Poophole River Club. I was really hoping the pic of my course on WGO last night would be a toilet

My bold prediction. I will say “now here’s a ___” way less than Eric did in the WCoD. 😉 I will also say, without any knowledge of the scoring at this point, there will be some very good courses that will miss the top 10. Empire is definitely being cut. But it’s been a cool experience. You are WELL on your way Dylan! You should proud no matter where it finishes!

I just wanted to try to get everyone to know that I’m not playing around and that I’m here to win not to have fun. But I think that mindset surely slipped. So I’ll try to kick some arse in the next contest.

In my experience going in with the mindset that you're designing to win is the best way to improve in the long run, even if actually winning isn't really a realistic prospect. Personally I'd be pleased if I made the top 10 or so, but when I was in the designer I was still trying to build a winning course. The higher you aim the more new stuff you're probably going to be willing to try instead of simply trying to do the stuff you're comfortable with well. My last course (The Wolf at Copper Lake) got a tepid response at best but I did a bunch of stuff I hadn't really done before and I think I got better as a result.

Exactly, and I think as I’ll progress I will also aim for what I want in a golf course instead of what the community wants. I think this is another factor adding to the “perfection” idea. But I always feel that you are never going to make a perfect course for everyone.

So just to make sure, we basically have another full month before any results are announced?

So just to make sure, we basically have another full month before any results are announced? The plan as of now is to announce the top 3 on Twitch May 19. We will likely begin a countdown of top 10 courses in the week leading up to the final show & giving out honorable mentions to those who didn’t make the cut the week before that. So results will start to trickle in during the first full week of May. Of course, this is subject to change, but we’ve got the judges on a schedule that will help us adhere to this timeline for posting results.

Nice the official golf club Facebook page has shared certain courses from this competition. Few hundred plays for the lucky ones They've featured a few on their Twitter page as well. VctryLnSprts has done a great job getting set up where all the courses will get some love on the TGC Tours Twitter. Have no control over which ones HB in turn retweets and features, but great to see -- just like they did w/ the World Cup -- HB is giving some of our creations some love!

ANNOUNCEMENT: We will begin to reveal results on Wednesday and will have a continual stream of results daily until announcing the winner on Twitch May 19. Official results will be posted at the following link: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/19002/major-championship-design-challenge-resultsResults will be announced on the following schedule (subject to change): * May 1-11: Courses that missed the cut, one/day. I will randomly select courses that finished outside the top 12 to feature. Final positions for these courses will not be announced. Just because you're announced May 1 doesn't mean you finished last and, being announced on the 11th doesn't mean you finished 13th. Each day, I will update the leaderboard so eliminated courses are sorted alphabetically, by designer name. (NOTE: results will likely be posted either in the morning or the evening. I'd like to lock in a consistent time but I likely will not be able to with my work schedule ... Designers will be tagged when their course is announced). * May 12: The first two courses out (11th & 12th) will be revealed. I was planning on doing this anyway and, given the way the first round scoring is shaking out, this is even more appropriate. I'll just say, the numbers got VERY close right at the cutline. * May 13-19: Countdown of the top 10 beginning with 10th (May 13) and going all the way to No. 4 (May 19 a.m.). * May 19: Reveal of the top 3 live on Twitch (Exact format and channel TBD, but tentatively looking at 7 p.m. after the IRL PGA Championship). When results are posted, I will display each golfer's splash screen, highlight a few pros and cons from the judges' worksheets (I'll be looking for trends in what they said to highlight) and offer a couple of my own thoughts. We will not release full judging comments to the public, though contestants (after being eliminated) may get access to the comments for their course by PM'ing PithyDoctorG -- the judging coordinator for this contest. With that, sit back fellas! The picture of how this contest is shaking out will soon come into focus.
