Day 1 Total Stroke Match 2Gimbel & Butler V Rainford & Morris The match started with the first two holes halved before the ROTW team going 1 up on the 3rd. With a pair of birdies on the 4th it was even then USA took the lead on the 6th. That was immediately pulled back by a Rainford birdie on 7 then a Gimbel birdie separated the teams on 8.Another 2 birdies on the 10th seen the ROTW guys pulled them level, but birdies from both Brandon and Hunter took USA to 2 up. It was clawed back by another couple of birdies on the 13th then a Morris birdie on 14 brought it back to all square. With both ROTW players carding birdies on the 16th and the 17th halved it went down to the last hole. On the 18th 2 birdies from ROTW seen them clinch the match and their first point of the competition.ROTW wins 2UP

Day 1 Fourballs Match 1Vereen & Petty V Anderson & Van Niekerk A birdie from Vereen on the 2nd hole put USA 1 up then both Leon and Marc hit birdies on the 4th to level it. It wasn't until the 9th that the teams were separated again courtesy of an Anderson birdie. Another Anderson birdie put ROTW 2 holes to the good on 11, only to go back to 1 up as Avery birdied the 14th. An eagle from Leon on 17th bettered the birdies scored by Vereen and Petty to win the match and pull ROTW level on points for the competition. ROTW wins 2&1

Day 1 Fourballs Match 3
Knight & Ciboch V Gale & Bridgen The ROTW pairing got off to a flier going 2 up after 2 holes, thanks to a Bridgen birdie then both hitting a birdie on the 2nd. Taylor and Justin traded birdies with Jamie and Digs over the next 10 holes and the scores remained the same. Then both ROTW players birdied 13 followed by a Bridgen birdie on the 14th stretched their lead to 4 holes. A pair of birdies on the 15 pulled one back for the USA team but with a halved 16th the ROTW win the match.ROTW wins 3&2

Great scores from all of you, just shows what a bit of competition can do.
