I guess people are boycotting the SB. That's a little extream. Halftime at Superbowl usually suck. How about you get 1 challenge for pass interface per half. Supposedly people have been boycotting the NFL for 2-3 years now. Yet somehow the conference championships are drawing 50 million viewers.

I wouldn’t necessarily go that far, but they certainly seem to have gotten worse over the last decade or so. Other than the RHCP cameo in Bruno Mars' 2014 show, the last one I throughly enjoyed was probably all the way back in 2010 with The Who.

Imho, the last truly great SB halftime show was 2007, Prince. I do remember Katy Perry's show quite keenly tho - we host her website - and boy did it @!$#ing crash

Can we marvel at how good NFL kickers have gotten? Zuerlein nailed it from 57 yards with plenty to spare right down the middle. That's after nailing the tying kick also right down the center. I don't care that it was in a dome, the margin for error on that kick is still tiny with a ton of pressure.
As for the interference call, I don't think it was quite as blatant as most people think it was. In real-time, it wasn't all that obvious that the defender arrived before the ball. There are lots of ways an official could miss that call - not the least of which is an expectation the Saints might run the ball to force the Rams to use their final time out.
It was a missed call for sure, and it sucked for New Orleans to have a pivotal officiating mistake swing the game like that. But the Saints still had a chance to stop the Rams offense. Failing that, the Saints got the ball first in OT and had a chance to win it.
The call wasn't even the football equivalent of Don Denkinger's blown call in the '85 World Series. It's the equivalent of Kerry Fraser's missed high stick in the 1993 NHL Campbell Conference Championship. Wayne Gretzky caught Doug Gilmour with a high stick in the first period of Game 6, cutting Gilmour. By rule, Gretzky should have been ejected. Fraser missed the call, Gretzky scored a hat trick, and the Kings defeated the Maple Leafs in 7 games.

Defense defense defense.... ... still wins championships. And somewhere Janet Jackson is pissed. No football fan needed to see a topless Adam Levine. But it was a stark reminder as for why I don't have any tats. I'll keep my art in a frame on my walls, thank you lol.

I enjoyed it until the 4th quarter. Quite happy to see a good defensive battle but there comes a point you want someone to do something!

I enjoyed the game a lot. was like watching a good chess match!
I'm not a fan of Maroon 5, but I like that they didn't seem to put any stupid political statement in which is all the rage these days. They just played their music and that was it. Dude needed to keep his shirt on though, lol.

I've heard sane people say Maroon5 was more enjoyable / exciting than the game... To be fair they actually were very good, or at least the show was. Not my bag either but fair play.

The game would not have been exciting to people that were just halfway watching for a big play, and only half paying attention.
If you were watching it for the game itself, and paying attention to what the defenses were doing, a true fan of the schemes and what Phillips and Belicheck were doing to try to outsmart each other, it was very exciting.
Suh, Donald and Fowler were dominating, and Hightower was just wrecking Goff. But it was their coaches that were outsmarting each other to free them up.

I walked my dog at halftime. When i came back dude was shirtless on my tv. Who the hell wanted to see that during a football game? I had to change the channel. Bad enough his voice sucks, i didn't sign up to watch a male strip show too. Thank goodness for the power of a remote control.

I've heard sane people say Maroon5 was more enjoyable / exciting than the game... I enjoyed the game. I love great defensive play. Nothing better than seeing great offenses out on lock down by great defensive schemes. It's like watching Nolan Ryan throw a no-hitter. Every play was a question of whether who was going to break first. Brady to Gronk to the 2 yard line was the play. And what a great play by McCourty in the end zone to prevent a TD. Wasn't even his guy to cover. There was a lot going on in the trenches in that game. The Rams' right tackle Havenstein (#79) was getting his ass kicked most of the game. If you've ever read John Madden's book "One Knee Equals Two Feet", he talks about how to watch football - look at the center and O-Line before and right after the snap - you'll see and appreciate so much more the game that way.
