Why this is scheduled in December I don't know but a little snow never hurt anyone.
GL all!

The Chastener @ Bridgegate will reward players that think through their round, especially when playing the greens’ slopes on the approach shots, but get out of position off the tee or around the greens and you’ll struggle to make pars.
Although there’s no light rough on this design, you will find that many drives will bounce back toward the middle of the fairway when you’re using the contours to your advantage. Likewise, driver isn’t always the best play off the tee. Strategy is king at the Chastener!
Good luck everyone!

Meh 66 in the first round. Seem to be pushing my drives a bit right pretty often, found a bunch of bunkers. Putting was a mixed bag, made 2 very tough par putts but missed a 6 foot par as well. Birdied the first 2 but didn't birdie another until 9. Only 1 bogey though. Second round I birdied the first 7 holes. Rest of the round wasn't as good, missed a 9 foot birdie, left a chip 9 inches short and another about that far left. Several approach shots that went dead straight despite a double digit crosswind. Finished with a 61.
Started the third round with 2 fast downswings which got a bit lucky and a lip-out on the mid-range birdie putt, gonna leave it there for now.

Finished up cus I've got nothing else to do on a Sunday night and hit -11 -3 for a -23 total ... speed golfed the 4th round while chatting to my housemate so I better not make the cut! Haha Good luck all those left to start and finish and don't play on a Sunday night if you wanna compete for a win

-3 -2 will not get me through to the weekend. Just couldn't get any tempo or make any putts. Going to finish just for the practice.

I don't even know how to swing anymore. I've tried everything. The more I play the more confused I get.

XBox. All the joy has been sucked out of this game with the last patch. The one remaining fun thing was to bomb it off the tee with f/f & f/p. And they took that away. I was pretty good in TGC2 and really enjoyed it. This version is just psychologically demoralizing because of the seemingly unmerciful relentless tempo randomness.

The game is now technically easier I guess, but they have taken away so many varieties of shots I used to navigate around the tempo issues. And on top of that, it's harder to keep the swing in the blue. So on the offchance I do get a p/p, it still goes off target.

Karma (not vic, the other karma) rounds for me When Eric released the original course as national treasure for Russia I enjoyed it as it was a funny and excellent course, but it played shorter than this version, so I asked Eric to make it a bit longer and challenging. And he did it so I could use it on tour. Now, one year later I find myself playing the course on tour and ooooooh, what a surprise, the changes I asked him to do really killed my rounds. I could not make a putt even if I tried.... lovely. Good luck everybody and VctryLnSprts I do love the chastener

Well... A very frustrating first two rounds leaving me on -8 and a missed cut. I then played the final two rounds at -13, -9 for a -30 total but I don't think the last 2 rounds will count... argh!

-6, -9 for -15 at the cut. I think it’ll make the weekend but we’ll see. Despite the relatively benign conditions still a tough course. Found myself long with a tricky downhiller regularly. Made some and missed some. Definitely left a few out there but I’ll be curious to see the scores come in. Quite different from last weeks round 2 hurricane. Fresh off the new patch makes it quite tricky as well. I definitely feel like that increased by proximity to the hole stat. Nothing major but what would have been a 5 footer became a 12 footer. Definitely cost a few.
Huge fan of the course. Must be smart and accurate off the tee, and very tricky around the green if you short side it. Tempo issues severely punished compared to last week where you probably got away with it for the most part.

Had to play early this week. This should be a challenging course as you are tempted by the risk on so many holes. I didn't play very well the first 2 rounds, but held it together to be -12 through 2. Played much better on the final 2 rounds, and finished the tourney at -32. Hoping -12 makes the cut, as my last 2 rounds should have me sitting on a good paycheck. My early cut prediction would be -11.
Good luck out there!
It was never mentioned in the Patch updates, but I swear something has changed with putting. The greens seem faster, and the putter more sensitive to distance. Those uphill putts seem to really be rolling out much more that previous version. I blew a couple by the hole by more than 10 feet, and even sent one off the green once.

I noticed this as well. HB are adamant they never had any 'braking' effect in the new game, but whatever it was there absolutely was a difference compared with TGC2, the ball seemed to slow down as it got close to the hole. Some people called it 'stickier greens', others a braking effect, I called it a weird gravity widget, doesn't matter what it was but we all saw the difference, I didn't have to fear putts escaping off the green if I hit it too hard like happened so often in the previous game. Since the patch, it seems whatever they did before has gone and it's more like TGC2 again - here's a vid of me giving it a little tappy on a 187 green, I guarantee that would not have happened pre-patch but it happened all the time in TGC2: I've usually believed HB when they say they haven't done X or Y but after 350 hours in TGC19 I am 100% certain that the slow-down effect has gone and distance control is tougher and more like TGC2 now. Not the worst thing in the world, just have to get used to it, but it's really weird that only last week HB claimed there was no difference in putting to TGC2 when we could all see it with our own eyes, and now post-patch the greens are slippery again.
