Managed to stay bogie-free in round 3 for the first time this week, but only scored -6. A pity, I was actually in contention for a promotion mark after 2 rounds, but think it will need something spectacular now. A quick advert: if you have finished your rounds for the week and looking for another course to play, I released a beta course last week that I'm hoping to get some feedback on: Ffrog H Beta1. If you get a chance to play and think of anything that would improve it, stick it in the thread here: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/18500/ffrog-highlands-course-looking-feedback. Advert over!

finished out -3 and -4 for -21 total, a complete waste of effort from tee to green this week. I missed at least a dozen putts in round 4 alone by an inch. not even kidding. i've never come closer to quitting than i am right now, i just can't seem to learn to putt, and its really dampening the fun of this game for me.
go ahead and watch the VOD for the worst putting performance possible, basically.

Your not alone in your putting woes if my putting was better I could be at least 10 shots better every week but it is what it is, I don’t count clicks or time beads travelling across my lines I put of feel. When I get it right I’m good but miss to many inside 10 feet.

My final score for the week was -31, started well with -12 then a couple of -7 rounds and a -5 round saw me slide down the leaderboard. With no commitments this week I'll be switching back to master clubs and will be accompanied by Bob Raker my new performance coach. I'll be catching a flight or two to get to Galway airport for the next tour stop at the scenic Ardoileán course.

Shot 59 on day four to finish at -36 and that should hopefully be a promo mark putting me at 4 marks. One away from CC-A. Great course this week, very enjoyable.

Results are in and I'm still #1 on the money list, but by the skin of my teeth - $5000 is my lead.
I really have to do better this week. Desperately need to putt better!!
I see we're on Ardoilean this week - if you haven't played it yet, this is an incredible course - and it is very challenging. Good luck CC-Bears!

Loved this week's course and my game just came together. First 2 rounds of-13 leave me at -26 going into round 3.

"We're in the middle of nowhere here"
That was Bob Raker's first words to me as we met up at the pier for the ferry to take us over to Ardoileán. Bob was going to take a backseat and just observe my game on the first round.
1st hole and first birdie of the day, but the feel good factor was short lived, as my 2nd shot on the 3rd hit the hill at the side of the green and led to a double bogey. The pain continued on the 5th and 6th as back to back bogies seen me drop to +3. A birdie on the 7th was for nothing as another bogey on the 8th, as I felt Bob's glare burn into the back of my head.
The back 9 started with another bogey which left me on the cliff edge of obscurity. Back to back birdies on the 11th and 12th led to a small climb up the leaderboard, then 3 birdies through 14-16 had me under par for the first time since the 2nd. A well executed drive and good approach on the 18th led to a medium length putt for eagle and left me at -3 going into the clubhouse.
Bob caught up with me at the clubhouse bar and told me "Cut out the heroics kid, play the course don't try beat it" as he sipped on a Guinness. If I done half as well on the front 9 than the back I'd be sitting at -9, but hey you've got to play the whole course not just the easier holes.

Not gonna lie this course is NOT for me. Feels an absolute grind. Somehow I’m at -17 after the first two rounds but that’s down to my putter being on fire. Tee to green I’ve been awful. Can’t deal with all the elevations lol.

"Tee, Fairway, Green and Hole"
These are the only acceptable positions for the golf ball during a round according to Bob Raker. Although this nugget of wisdom fell on deaf ears as my first drive landed in a bunker, but still I managed to birdie the 1st. There were another 4 birdies picked up on the first 6 holes as I took my back 9 form from the first round into the second round. A bogey followed on the 7th then a birdie on the 8th. Although I found the bunker on the 9th a nice little flop shot went in for birdie to take me up to -6 after 9.
I caught the slope on the green on the 10th twice and missed the following putt to finish the hole with a double bogey. I managed to pick up birdies on the holes I missed (13 & 17) on the first round, but unfortunately parred the rest. So it was back to the clubhouse with a -6 round -9 after 2 rounds.
The 4th and 10th holes are the only ones where I haven't picked anything up on, there's been a vast improvement on my FIR's from 57.1% to 85.7% although my GIR's have dipped slightly. Bob remarked how I was slow on my back swing but fast on my forward swing, saying I was too lackadaisical then rushing to catch up on my tempo.

Welp, that's my first ever rage quit. I can't putt anymore and I don't know why, it's gotten worse every week. It's too frustrating to be unable to make an 8 foot putt, repeatedly.
This is my first ever WD most likely, unless I can find some well of patience to finish this godawful round.
Going to have to take a break from CCB play for a while. I'm broken and miserable for choking away my #1 money list ranking, which really did mean something to me.
Good luck fellow CC-B friends.

I'm taking a break for a couple weeks, also. Started a practice round last nite, played 5 holes and shut it down. Last week was an utter disappointment as I played awful and I'm a little disgusted still this week. Gonna take a break and regroup. For the record, one of my weekly rituals was to check and see how your progress was going on the money list.

Not liking this course. No offense to the designer, it's a good course, but not working for me this week, my game is in the toilet. I'm quitting mid-2nd-round, will take the demotion mark this week. Ugh.
