The Press Tent will be a feature on TGC Tours where you can come in after a round or tournament and answer some questions from the press. You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!

Did a marathon playthrough of the Q-School today, so that I would be ready to register for Week 5. Shot a +9 over the six rounds. Not a great score, but it was my first run through all of the courses, so I'm still fairly happy with it!
Highlight of tournament? Low round of -5
Lowlight of tournament? Left a lot of easy putts out there...
What did you think of the course? Enjoyed them all! Will play again
Goal for Week 5? Just try to improve and enjoy some quality courses!

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? After scoring over-par on my first 5 rounds, I was able to shoot even on the final round. It was definitely nice to finish off the Q-School with some good golf. I think that's going to give me some confidence going into the tour.
What was the low-light of your round/tournament? It seemed like I was digging myself into some deep holes early on in rounds and then was having to fight mentally through the remainder of the holes. What did you think of the course? It was my first playthrough on all the courses and there was some pretty nasty wind on some of them. They were definitely a good challenge.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? I wasn't all that concerned about the leaderboard. I was just trying to score the best I could. Overall, I'm disappointed with where I am on the leaderboard because I knew I really didn't play the quality of golf I expect myself to play. I just don't feel like I was on my game until that final round.
What's the thing you're looking to improve on for Tour play? Short game. I feel like I gave a lot of shots away with some poor chipping and putting. That's definitely going to be the focus for my practice sessions.

•What was the highlight of your round/tournament? An ACE at Crawford Mines! Maybe number 11 or 12? don't recall...but an ace is an ace! Shot a 63 in the final round in 12-15mph winds. Was very happy with that. Also had a decent round in the desert which surprised me a bit. •What was the low-light of your round/tournament? Kodiak. All of it. That course is one that I only play if I have too (Sorry Tastegw. It's a fine track just not my cup of tea). It kicked my BUTT. Also I had a good round going on Copper Creek but had to quit and when I came back the groove was GONE. •What did you think of the course? Like some...don't others. *shrug* It is what it is. •How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? I'm on top of this month's leaderboard but there weren't many players so my score was nothing special •Ask your own question and answer it! Why did you wear the same thong under your golf pants for all 6 rounds? That wasn't a thong. Those were tan lines. I went commando.

Highlight?
Sadly, the highlight of my q-school run happened on the very first course. I had practiced the Yeti a couple of times (+10, +5) and really found my groove in my "real" round, shooting a 2-under to give me visions and dreams of exemptions. Sadly, it was not to be.
Lowlight?
Had to be the 6th and final course, Copper Canyon, i believe. I had posted four consecutive +2's to set up a heroic final round where i could go low to grab an exemption. Sadly, that dream died quickly, as a 4-putt and a pitching nightmare put me 5-over after 4 holes. This really continues to highlight my weakness on long putts, and also highlights my need to improve my approach shots to avoid those long putts!
Courses?
Nice variety. Yeti was my favorite, probably as a result of my score. Simply hated that the greens wouldnt hold a single approach shot on the 5th course. Really made birdies impossible for me.
My own question: thoughts heading onto tour?
I am very new to the game, but my weaknesses right now are glaring. At least that gives me a place to start. Also, i am thrilled to see the new flighting system - looks like it will keep things interesting for the many levels of play that golfers will find themselves at within this game. I simply marvel at the scores (-52?!?) that i am seeing on the PGA tour - i certainly have a long way to go!
