I played a No Training Wheels Tour yesterday and loved it! Going to play the tournaments.

Also this was the first time I have ever played with the aids off and it was a lot better than I thought it would be.

I've played the 1st 2 rounds of NO TRAINING WHEELS@ La Vallee Glaciale, and shot E for rd1 and -2 for rd2 and like last week I still believe this is the best way to play.

Didn't get to play the no wheels tourney the past couple of weeks cause i was putting extra time getting my Par3 course done....looking forward to playing it this week at the beautiful Glacier Valley.....lets see if I can match my 56 scored with all aids----for 9 holes w/o......hahahaha.

I'm interested in trying these out.
"No Grids" I'm assuming is no putting grids.
Is "no training wheels" no scout cam, no wind meter and no putting grids?

I made the putting look impossible on that front nine... Had a "Rory" moment (you remeber his 4-putt?) that led to a double bogey and +5 (I think) after 8. Managed to claw my way back to a +2 finish in the end with some good approach shots and sinking a couple of 15 footers on the back. Still in contention with that score. Just love that you can actually recover from a bad hole when playing with no aids.
And as for the impossible green-reading - played frist round through a PS TV on a 21" monitor with a crappy HDMI->VGA converter in between that left the image somewhat less than perfect. Still had no big issue reading putts. Sure - a 60" TV makes it a bit easier, but effect is smaller than I expected.
Saw that Trowelhead completly lit up the back nine. Impressive!
And Denis - crazy guy - went no training wheels on my "PROTOTYPE LINKS 0.5" - made to defend par against good players with aids on - and almost beat me.

The No Training Wheels tournament has become my most favorite time playing TGC. I enjoy this more than the current TGCT tour. The course this week is absolutely stunning. I love watching the hole fly over, especially since it can help you now without any aids on.
