Catching up with the announcement and the changes - a little surprised about QSchool but I agree its the best way forward. I like the Promo/Demo system, I think its going to be good.
Great work Doyley and the rest! I can't wait for Season 5!

Same. I loved the pitches on TGC2, finding myself leaving 100 now if I can. Course management? Holy s**t, what is this?!?! Also much better chipping. Haven’t had one of the random ones that just stops dead yet. Have made a effort to not overplay this one too much too early, and ramp it up leading into Q-School. Can definitely see the merits of it (Q-School) with so many new players. There’s a heap of newbs on XBox scoring well. Would like to see us keep our WGR points, it’s realistic for new people to have to play for a season to get their WGR points up to where they’ll end up.

Wish there was a bigger spread or more overlap with the wind. Just been playing one of my courses with different wind strengths and didn't notice more than a 5mph range up to the high wind setting.
Have a feeling we're going to go from wind waiting in TGC1 to wind watching in 2019 where people are going to know the exact course conditions, wind strength and direction then go practice it to get the best fit club on long par 4's or par 5's. Had a situation just now where I was into a 12mph wind, the 1st time of playing I used the 3H and hit the bank in front of the green and stopped but the 2nd time around I used 3W and that flew the green. Knowing that I'd put a 2H or 4W in my bag which would give a good eagle chance.
Would have preferred if selecting high wind you had a potential from 5 to say 20mph during the round rather than just 10 to 14 or 15mph. Either that or once you start a tour the course is blocked out in game so you can't keep practicing from round to round.

So my question. Lets say there are people on CC-A tour who simply do not want to use Master clubs. By the rules they can stay on this tour indefinitely. These people may end up winning spots 1-10 for example. Now you got 5 people using master clubs finishing 11-15.
Ideally those 5 folks using master clubs should be considered top 5 for purposes of gaining a promotion mark, otherwise it can very well be very difficult for people using Master clubs to rise up to the Web Tour if the people placing the highest in each tournament are those folks who are very good at Pro clubs and who never want to move up?
So what happens then? Do you ignore people with Pro clubs in promotion marks at the CC Tour level? Do you ever auto promote someone who doesn't want to move up to Web but who are continuously winning the CC-A tournaments?

No pissing about with extra points etc, but at least a copy of the course and format for the amateur tours. If you're going to do that you might as well make the Masters a 750 player tournament.
This place is still meant to mirror the real life tour structure as closely as possible. Obviously liberties are taken in some places, but dumbing down the majors is a big no from me
I get what tire saying, but if you’re playing in the Masters via the traditional entry method, then that’s obviously the only “real” event. Just seems a that the CC-ers, that don’t follow a real life schedule as far as I know, couldn’t play a 4 round tourney on the same track in the same week as a prestige major.

I think the changes mentioned promo marks for the top 10 master club users on CC-A, so is it safe assume that is regardless of finish position?

I just hope they don't turn on the "ScrewTim" setting this season. Not even sure it's in 2019, I've looked around but can't find it, hopefully its not in this version. I think its in the same place as the fist Marc Foley setting? Right seamount4life ? haha yes!! That is always toggled to "on"

Too lazy Doyley to look through all the pages but are we resetting the WGR as well? We're discussing it - it's the most complicated code on the site so it's not an easy yes/no.

Challenge Circuit has its own set of four major events: CC-ProChubbs Peterson Memorial Bushwood Open Romeo Pasar Invitational Ty Webb Classic CC-AmEli's Tournament Drive for Show Putt for Dough Championship Payne Stewart Memorial Gord Downie Memorial Additionally, CC holds two qualifying events: Masters Qualifying - always at Augusta/Magnolia, and PGA Championship Qualifying - in S4, we played Pebble Beach.

I think at that point it is pretty simple, you auto promote and force them into Master clubs. Sorry but if you are winning CC-A events its time to move on up per the rules. If not go find a society to play in.
I know it's a crappy answer for those that want to use Pro clubs but for the sake of competition, the rules, and decency to other players, it is the right thing to do. Hopefully this will be a rare occurance.

The gist of what will happen is the CC-A leaderboard will be sorted via Master clubs, then promotion marks given out (likely behind the scenes/internally). I may still auto-promote the top Master Club user (non-winner) - that discussion hasn't happened yet.. If someone wants to play CC-A on pro/beginner clubs we're not going to stop them (other than their progress up the tours).

Alrighty.... I happened to have two societies using the same course (different pins I think) for a 2 round event. The first event I had already completed using player sticks and shot I believe a -9 total. On the second go around last night I decided to give peace a chance and work with these Masters clubs I have been hearing so much about. After spending some solid time on the range I headed into the event and much to my surprise it was not a total sh%$ show. There were a few errant shots off the tee but in all...not that bad. I finished up E and -5 when it was all over and the scores honestly could of been better with some better putting. I would like to petition to be able to keep my Player putter. Given this small sample size I am somewhat encouraged and to be honest....a little more excited about the upcoming season if what I did last night would be considered the norm. On the flip side....if this doesn't end up working out and I need to relegate myself back to a CC level of enjoyment then that is what I will end up doing. It's not ideal for me because of the competitive side in me and it surely will not be for a lack of trying using the Masters clubs in this years season. The admins poked the bear with this decision and I would like to thank them for it because I decided I needed to make a honest effort with the new clubs this time around. If things continue to progress slowly then I hope Sloan, Smedley, or any other top dog won't mind giving up their seats in a few months. Just keep it warm for me.
