Two questions, all seems fairly simple and well thought through. Will the API pick up club sets so we KNOW everyone is using the right set? What will happen to people who use the easier club sets and qualify for the pro tours? I’m using the Master clubs (and will regardless), but suspect I’d qualify higher using the easier sets. I’m hoping that anyone using the easier clubs will be restricted to the CC-Am leaderboards. Thanks for any answers 👍 1. Yes 2. Pro/Beginner clubsets can only go as high as CC-A out of all Q-Schools (even if you only use them 1 of the Q-School rounds)

I’m new to the forum and this might seem like a dumb question, but does this update involve buying a new game? Wil TGC2 be useless now?

Assume that in the CC-Pro and CC-AM divisions, if wanted, we can turn off all aids and these are not going to be locked to on? Wind meter, green grids, scout cam, putting marker? Just the way I like to play. Will be set to Any - meaning if you want to play with green grids off etc you can. Good stuff. Cheers Doyley!

I'm digging the changes that are coming! 1. So +/- 1500 Tour members, 50% (750) will be using Masters Clubs. Top 450 make Pro tours, which leaves the worst 300 Masters users scattered about the CC Tours. Given the new slow promotion and being integrated with Pro Clubs users- there will be a lot of Masters users stuck deep in CC and looking at a minimum of 4-6 months to work their way up to Web. Puts enormous importance on Q-School (Dont sh|t yourself during Q School folks!).
2. What if you miss one of the two Q-Schools (Vacation, work trip, hospital stay, whatever) will there eventually be make up Q School tournaments?
3. I haven't heard an answer on the re-setting of the WGR rankings as well.
4. Folks crying about level playing field and being penalized for using Pro clubs... go turn in your Callaway X-18's or Ping 35s for the old Nicklaus Wilson blades with the sweet spot the size of a nickel if you want to understand the difference between Pro clubs and Masters clubs.

Fully agree. Special tournaments that have some entry level exclusivity should also exist within the tour structure outside of PGA Open qualifying for the US Open and Open Championship are still in Season 5 where all of TGCT has a shot of getting in. Same with CC qualifying for Masters/PGA Championship - a few slots will be available there. Outside of that there aren't any plans of doing anything other than WGC events, Tournament of Champions type stuff on the PGA Tour. Fair enough and noted regards Open / Masters Quals... I can only imagine how much extra work it would be in honesty. It's a bit of a shame that in or around the time of certain Majors that there couldn't an opportunity to mirror proceedings further down the schedule IMO.Just replace that weeks scheduled event with a mirror of the Major. No pissing about with extra points etc, but at least a copy of the course and format for the amateur tours. Just my 2p.

Happy with the changes. Thanks to Doyley and co for their continued hard work.
Im currently on holiday and not returning until 2nd October. If I miss the first round of Q school when will I get another oppurtunity?

This place is still meant to mirror the real life tour structure as closely as possible. Obviously liberties are taken in some places, but dumbing down the majors is a big no from me

The system is operating on a sliding scale - you'll add/subtract marks - you'll never have both promotion and demotion marks at the same time. I'll give a scenario to help clear up any questions.
Scenario - Pro Tour (user on European Tour) W1: Finish 34th W2: Finish 8th W3: WD (rage quit - didn't complete full event) W4: Win W5: Finish 5th W6: Missed Cut W7: Win W8: Win
Promotion/Demotion marks at the start of the week: W2: 0 marks W3: 1 promo W4: 1 demotion W5: 1 promo W6: 2 promo W7: 1 promo W8: 3 promo W9: 5 promo (promoted to PGA Tour)
Once you've earned a Promotion Mark you're trying to make cuts (Pro Tours) or finish 70+ (Challenge Circuit) to keep them Once you've gotten a Demotion Mark you're trying to make cuts (Pro Tours) or finish 70+ (Challenge Circuit) to begin to remove them.
Below it's broken down into all 3 scenarios per Pro Tour/Challenge Circuit.
PRO TOURS 1. Member has no Promotion/Demotion mark(s) Win - earn 2 promotion marks Top 10 - earn 1 promotion mark 120-139 - get 1 demotion mark 140+/DQ/WD - get 2 demotion marks
2. Member has Promotion Mark(s) Win - earn 2 promotion marks Top 10 - earn 1 promotion mark Miss cut to 139 - lose 1 promotion mark 140th+/DQ/WD - lose 2 promotion marks (sliding scale)
3. Member has Demotion Mark(s) Win - earn 2 promotion marks (sliding scale) Make cut - clear 1 demotion mark 120-139 - get 1 demotion mark 140+/DQ/WD - get 2 demotion marks
CHALLENGE CIRCUIT 1. Member has no Promotion/Demotion mark(s) Win - auto promotion (unless on CC-A and not Master Clubs) Top 20 - earn 1 promotion mark 120-139 - get 1 demotion mark 140+/DQ/WD - get 2 demotion marks
2. Member has Promotion Mark(s) Win - auto promotion (unless on CC-A and not Master Clubs) Top 20 - earn 1 promotion mark 71-139 - lose 1 promotion mark 140th+/DQ/WD - lose 2 promotion marks (sliding scale)
3. Member has Demotion Mark(s) Win - auto promotion (unless on CC-A and not Master Clubs) 70 or better - clear 1 demotion mark 120-139 - get 1 demotion mark 140+/DQ/WD - get 2 demotion marks

Flops are my night nightmare lol. Giving myself some 15/20ft+ putts most of the time lol. Pitching has been a bit better for me, but damn, one fast downswing and you turn that 52yd pitch into a 65/70 one haha. Sweaty hands with pitches and flops. I much prefer a full normal shot haha. Same. I loved the pitches on TGC2, finding myself leaving 100 now if I can. Course management? Holy s**t, what is this?!?!

Yes, same as this past season - there will be a weekly Q-School run out of CC-Pro for all new members or old ones that didn't get a card in the mass Q-School3. I haven't heard an answer on the re-setting of the WGR rankings as well. Let me discuss with Tim - some logistics here that may affect what we do

If anyone misses the initial Q-School, you'll be able to register for our weekly Q-Schools that will start the first week of the regular season.

Scott - are you planning to add a column on the leaderboards for what clubs each player is using (should be able to do so easily directly from the API)?
This will be a huge deal in CC-A with regard to promotion marks - people there using master clubs will need to know which other players they are actually competing against for these (while those players using pro clubs won't be competing for them)
Personally - slightly disappointed that Q-school is mandatory - I spent the whole of last season working my way to WT, and now I've got to do it all again (although the aim is to do it in Q-School)
I'd also say that there should be a maximum amount that a player should be able to drop from their S4 tour level (eg 2 levels) - if you were a top player in S4, then you will (Eventually) also be one in S5 - and it's somewhat unfair for those in CC / Web having to face people who should really be in a much higher tour......
