is it cheating if you go to practice the tournament and notice the winds are calm then go play the tournament. no, it is smart, 95% of everybody else is doing the same thing. i'm firmly in the 5% the only time i would wait would possibly be 23mph on a links as thats close to unplayable, and yes it's prob smart to wait, but as the arnold palmer proved, it's damn boring too, first round -17 calm conditions, prob the most boring round i have ever played, i was actually thankful for the breeze after that, just to stop me from falling asleep. i'm more concerned with the amount of easy courses being used on the pga, c'mon guys there has to be tough courses out there, a course will have done its job when you look back and say "what could have been" i cannot remember what course was used for the arnold palmer now but i do know i will never play it again, beautiful course but too easy, kinda course you play on auto pilot.

I have a life as well, kids, work, lots of work, but I do manage to play TGC most days for an hour or so. It keeps me sane and allows me my "me time" (I hate that expression). However, I'm averaging about 50/50 on the cut week after week (my current joint second on Euro tour will not last passed round 2, believe me). So if I'm heading out to play an official round and the winds blowing 15/17 mph I'm afraid I'm gonna sit in the club house and wait it out. Shoot me... On a side note, when can I cash out my winnings, I'm skint and could really use some of that 70k....

My main wish is that HB Studios would allow tgctours to control the wind in each tourney so that the wind waiters would play by the same rules we do. If not fixed, I believe that this could be a serious drawback to the continuity of the tours as some will eventually get tired of seeing people wait and get the low scores. I feel like the wind waiters are NOT true golfers.( at least not in the true spirit of the game )

It would be a shame if we never see the wind in at least 50% of rounds once hb amend it, every win and every personal best will be well earned, not only that it makes the game so much better and way more exciting, i could never bring myself to play in calm conditions when playing tiger 08-12, i always had to have it at least breezy, lol it's the only way i can keep my concentration for a full round.

I don't care what the wind is as long as its the same for everyone, at least broadly speaking. The best case scenario re: HB's 'fix' would be the ability to set a wind range PER TOURNAMENT ROUND, rather than a global range for the whole tourney. Every day could and should then be set differently to make playing 4 rounds on one course a more interesting and challenging experience.
