I have narrowed down my issues. In TGC2 I looked at my thumb during backswing and transitioned to the display as I downswing. In 19 the audio of the swing is not consistent so the audible cue is off. So with the quicker swing in 19 I don’t have the time to get my eyes on target consistently and my transition is sporadic. When I solely watch the screen I can get much better tempo but I can’t contsistently hit a straight line, I get a good amount of diagonal. If they would incorporate the backswing feedback realtiime such as TW14 it would be a perfect system.

So how do you get less then full shots? If i wanna hit a 75% shot I would need to start my downswing quicker. But by doing that you get a fast backswing. Is that ok if you are in fact trying to hit a 75% shot? I guess what im asking is: can you have a perfect/perfect 75% shot? Tempo has ruined this game for me. While I like the added realism. I just cant get the tempo to cooperate over 18 holes.

Fast backswing = you didn’t even get to the top of your backswing before starting your downswing
Slow backswing = you paused for too long at the top of your backswing.
Also I might be wrong

I am getting p/p now. Controllers vary quite a bit in this game. I have 3 controllers and every one gives a different result. They vary in tempo and in straightness of the line. It’s crazy. My newest one cannot give me P/P without slamming the stick on downswing but it’s the straightest. Another gives me p/p but line zig zags and finally the 3rd and can get p/p and the line is not straight but in the cone. It plays good enough so at least I can compete now. These are DS4. Now to figure out putting and why it feels like I’m not connected to the putter. Feels like it’s lagging behind my actions and it feels unresponsive. Maybe this is the way it is? Also, I adjusted the audio volume sliders around and II can now hear the backswing. Not perfect but it works

In TGC2 I watched the stick to keep the swing straight, but in 2019 I'm finding it better to watch the golfer as getting the backswing right and a smooth transition is more important than being a bit off on the swing plane.
That said, I'm three days in!

I watch the club head, it's all about the transition, concentrate on that rather than the actual speed you move the stick and you'll definitely come good

Tempo on PC is a lot like spinning a roulette wheel with your home mortgage at stake. Virtually unplayable with master clubs

Tempo on PC is a lot like spinning a roulette wheel with your home mortgage at stake. Virtually unplayable with master clubs I have the pro clubs mastered so decided to go back to master yesterday. Had one great round where the tempo was perfect/perfect most times. Then the next few rounds fast/perfect, very fast perfect...after an hour or so of that..start button..exit...went to kitchen, grabbed a steak knife and stuck it in my eye...more fun. I don't have the need or desire to shoot 59's all day long but have no desire to be constantly playing from hazards and or taking drops. The PC version needs a patch to fix the tempo problems. I've seen several people saying ps4 is much easier. Hardly a fair playing field if the 3 systems don't produce a consistent result between them. I'll go back to pro clubs.

I strapped the Huggies back on and put away my big boy pants too. Don't care...Masters are broke on PC and the tempo is too random on that setting. I can hit P/P 95%+ of the time with Pros. Something definitely wrong with the game on the PC format.

Ok I think I get the backswing tempo idea but the downswing I'm not understanding, any tips there?

Chipping - Can you get P/P with a less than 100% shot? Are they trying to make it all about loft? Are you meant to allow for the squirt or just try to get everything that's less than 100% as F/P?

I usually get Fast/Perfect. Enjoy how it works though - far more likely to get a perfect downswing (and thus hit it straight ish) on a shorter swing.
Finding some of my best chips are just little 65%/70% nudges forward with an 8/9 iron, get it on the green and let it roll. Just like real Golf.
Definite improvement in this area

Haha... Crazy game! I have had a really straight long game since 2019, yet I can't keep chips and putts straight! Actually changed controllers last night to see what I could make of it and I can now chip and putt straight but my long game isn't as straight. It's workable though Will persevere!
