Why are some people so obsessed with club choice. In real life professional golfers can play with whatever clubs they feel comfortable with. Because the Club Sets are out of balance. From the tee, the balance seems fair. From outside 94 yards, they seem fair. But get close to the green, and there's a big difference. It makes recovery from off the green much more difficult when you have Master Clubs compared to Pro Clubs. This goes for chipping, pitching and flopping. It puts the game in this weird state where it's caught in between balanced min-max choices, and true difficulty levels. The decision of the admins to force masters on all pro tours, and the stipulation that only master club users can earn promotion marks in CC-A put that tour in a weird state where the outright winners get a trophy, but players who might not have scored as well but used Master Clubs get the promotion rewards. Couple that with the fact that the 451st-best Master Club user is playing against the best Pro Club users - players that are presumably better - week in and week out. These just lead to a lot of really strong opinions on the matter. What you mentioned above regarding the difficulty level around the green with Master clubs are the reason why I dropped to Pro clubs. I've played this wonderful game of golf since I was 11 years old, I'm now 63, so it gives you an idea of the number of years I've been playing. Driving and long irons shots were the most difficult for me to execute, but my short game around the green got me out of trouble so many times. In this game with Masters, it's the total opposite. I can drive and hit long irons fairly straight, but miss the target by a mile from as little as 20 yards away - it's a joke.

Why are some people so obsessed with club choice. In real life professional golfers can play with whatever clubs they feel comfortable with. I finished 3rd on the Q-School CC leader board using Pro Clubs and the players above me were using Beginners clubs - So What! If this happens week-in-week-out on the tours, I won't be complaining that I'm at a disadvantage because people are using easier clubs..... I just want to enjoy playing this game with whatever clubs I'M comfortable with. This site offers a place for all players to compete in weekly tournaments for FREE. All difficulty levels have a place to compete, and zero money exchanges hands. What exactly are people missing out on? Nothing restricts users of the lower difficulty levels or non-TGCT players from joining the societies and enjoying the game as much as anyone else. I still feel that people are missing the point here. I will start the new season probably in CC-A, if after a few weeks of playing I'm constantly falling behind others using Beginners clubs, I've have a choice, either live with it or drop to Beginners and join them. That should be the same choice whatever flight you're are in.

That way everyone knows where they stand in relation to the skill of everyone else, and nobody has to choose. The current structure is a balance between everyone getting an opportunity to compete and a method of determining the best players in the world with all conditions equal. People will complain no matter what, but in the end it’s a free membership. The club difficulty levels are not balanced, especially the scoring clubs.

^^ THIS ^^
Can't sum it up any better. The club sets are difficulty levels, period. As such, the pro tours play masters clubs, there is no "should" argument to be made here. That's the decision of the admins and it's a good one. There are literally 8 additional tours where no club set requirements are placed on anybody, so there's a place here for everyone.
Send the dead horse to the glue factory and put the club away for the year, this argument is over.

Just a heads up
On CC-A The Top 20 Master Club users (and ties) within the top 70 overall will earn promotion marks (as indicated on the leaderboard now). For now only winner of event can auto-promote (master clubs only). We'll monitor.

Noticed there are positive marks projected for the top PGA leaderboard, is that for minimizing the negatives for those players the following week should they get negative marks? Or was/ is that simply an oversight since PGA has no where to go up?

So at the CCA, direct promotion with master club, only winning? The best master wins only one point of promotion, like the other 19 following? It will be difficult for some master to win. It has been proved that good players with beginner or professional clubs have been very well placed in Q-school. They would have a place in the PGA ...
I also noticed that at the moment there are some players with a master club in the CCA, without the green mark, but in the top 20.
