HBS gets data about all kinds of things when you play your rounds. Birdies, pars, bogies. FIR, GIR, and lots more course data like that. They also get data about how straight the swing is. Now in TGC2019 I don't know how it will differ, but in TGC2 they can tell down to like 9 decimal places how far off of perfect center the swing is.
HBS shares this API data with TGCTours.
TGCTours came up with their own (known specifically only to staff) filter for Society events where they deem a swing too far out of the norm and will flag a user. They would be removed for that weeks' event, and alerted by email. The user could use the forums (Fair Play Policy sub-forum) to work to make sure their swing was back within acceptable limits.
Just so you know, don't intertwine the word cheat and the above. They are rarely one and the same.
Cool! Thanks for the info. I am sure HB and TGCTours are laughing at my swing LOL! I know I am. I have just been flagged, I’m using the Xbox 1 controller I got with it when I purchased it been fine for 3yrs now been dq from the exhibition event we just done. No idea why. Or what I’m expected to do about it

I have just been flagged, I’m using the Xbox 1 controller I got with it when I purchased it been fine for 3yrs now been dq from the exhibition event we just done. No idea why. Or what I’m expected to do about it Lots of people been flagged but some have had a 2nd email telling them to disregard the message as there is an API bug. I was flagged as well, but I didn't receive a 2nd email instructing me to disregard. When I read the email, I thought, "Yeah. Think that DS4 is getting worn out." I had noticed that I was getting quite a few of what looked like completely straight line. I was just thinking that the lines might be close, but no way could there be no deviation. Then I get the email and "Oh boy. Not good." I do NOT want an unfair advantage. Such lessens and cheapens any victory I might achieve with such an advantage. So I went out and purchased another DS4 controller. Yep that old DS4 was definitely getting worn. I played my 1st round at Q-school with pro clubs and couldn't keep a straight line to save my life. Went to the range and after some practice and experimentation, I can usually keep it within the cone, but very seldom do I get completely straight lines. In fact, I don't think I've had a straight one yet. Close, but it always seems to drift just a bit looking very slightly crooked. Still in the cone though. I'm still going to play the rest of Q-school with master clubs even knowing I will be placed in a CC division. That's where I want to be anyway, but no matter what, St. Bedes is not designed to be played from the tips with anything but masters clubs unless you are one of the greats, which I am definitely not.

Doyley I'm sure this question has been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it... In CC-A... do players need to be using Master clubs to earn promotion marks? or can they earn promotion marks with Pro or Beginner clubs and get promoted by earning the final promotion mark using Master clubs?

It's in the rules page of the site. Yes, you must use Masters clubs in CC-A if you hope to have promotion marks.

If I'm in CC-G, is there any point me continuing to is master clubs as i have throughout Q-school? Will i get rewarded for using them or just continue to get my ass kicked by players using the easier equipment?

The latter for the most part sh%$. It may be, but if you enjoy the challenge of masters more, then you’re at the appropriate level to challenge with them at least.

In CC-G, you're being grouped with other players who scored about the same as you did. How they got there is immaterial.
If you get better, you'll beat them.

The latter for the most part sh%$. Yea it kind of sucks for those of us that enjoy using Master clubs but end up buried in the challenge circuit. It will be tough to climb your way through the ranks using Master clubs while others are tearing it up with Pro and Beginner clubs. I wish there was more of an incentive for CC players to use Master clubs... like double promotion marks if you finish top 20 with Master clubs.

Where, in CC-A, players will switch from a high % of Pro/Beginner club use in Q-School to Master clubs in the season to try and nab promotion marks...
In CC-B on down you will see the opposite. Players who used Master clubs or even Pro clubs in Q-School will move "down" a club set during the season or even two to try and earn promotion marks quicker just to attempt to get to CC-A where they will then switch back.
Of course, it may also be course dependent and I also think the majority will not fiddle much, if at all with switching.
