Aluminium Cup Series - Elite 8 (Carinthia Club) #1 Brian Ayers vs #9 Jason Hansford Brian Ayers (Theopen) Round 1 (Gold #4) score: -14 Round 2 (Gold #1) score: -9 Total: -23 Well, I had a better than expected first round ... got a little over-confident ... hit two in the water in the 2nd round, but managed to scrape back for Par on both. For some reason, I didn't learn anything from those and still tried to go for it on 15 - hit it straight into the canyon ... almost cost me the match. Nicely played jhandz92 ... although, I really shouldn't have looked at your score before I finished my rounds ... I was on-edge the entire time

Also, these are incredibly frustrating ... (first is from round 1, second is from round 2) On a side note ... I felt like the game screwed me over on the wind settings. Medium wind usually falls somewhere in the range of 6 mph to 11 mph (so can usually expect around 8-9) ... it gave me 13-14 for some reason. High wind is usually in the 9-14 range ... it gave me 17 for most of my second round.

So barring a miracle of biblical proportions from xcltaff1980 it looks like the top 4 seeds have made it all the way to the semi finals

ACS Elite 8 Final Scores Alert:
#2 Donald Tagariello defeated #7 Frans Melissen -24 to -22
Round 2, Hole #15.....par 5. Would you go back and change your strategy Frans fransslabak ? That's a tough pill to swallow for sure, especially as your two round score would get you a win many times on any given week. Still though, you played fantastically well all season long and you continue to show the talent of an A golfer in this league and tournament. What say you and xclgizman08 bring home a team championship maybe? TAGROCKET moves on and the Final Four is going to be an absolute dog fight.
#4 Johan Ahlmark defeated #5 Zach Bilchik -23 to -19
The competition only gets tougher each round and Zach CoinHen77 was very aware of this. I think the common denominator here is that mistakes can't happen and for the most part, his cards were clean. Maybe some missed birdie opportunities? What say you and daveok1919 bring home a team championship maybe? (Can't play favorites, you know!) Johan hojen had one blip on hole #13 of round 2 but seemed to own the AF course otherwise. Great effort sir, moving along like a well oiled machine. We could very well have a #1-4 ACS group but our Cinderella jhandz92 threw up a great score that may well have Theopen suffer from an occasional yip out on the course. Will have to wait and see how that match ends. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but at least I've still got the team competition! I'm honestly happy to have even made it to the Elite 8 this year and looking at the competitors that are left, I can walk away knowing that I was in pretty esteemed company. Jason, this society continues to be THE BEST. It's well run, organized and the course selection is seriously top notch. As I said at the start of the season, this is my favorite society (sorry LEFTY79 NFL comes in a very close 2nd) and can't wait to compete again next season. Now before I get too nostalgic, daveok1919 lets go get that team trophy!! I seriously don't know the right words to say here, but thank you for the kind thoughts Zach CoinHen77. As I always say, I do my very best to make it fun, interactive, throw some personality into the mix and I feel it DOES show. I would argue with you and say that Tyler LEFTY79 runs a better non-Society tournament because he seems to be very tech savvy with all of the graphics and such. I think the common denominator is the TGCT community and within the community of people that know each other, we have some amazing societies to take part in.

ACS Elite 8 Final Scores Alert:
#1 Brian Ayers defeated #9 Jason Hansford -23 to -21
Nearly an upset special! Brian Theopen waited for the field to play out, which many times is exactly what I like to do as well. He moves into the Final Four while jhandz92 walks off the course and gets a comfort hug from IGolfBad , who has been on 24K vacation for quite some time, much to the happiness of the rest of the group!
#3 CF Gibson defeated #11 Craig Thomas -28 to -21
A kick to the groin, to be honest. I can't even imagine Brian or Donald beating CF CGib2 with a score like this. Unfortunately, that's what Craig xcltaff1980 was up against. When Craig mentioned in a post to just send him through, I got the impression that maybe he wouldn't play his rounds. ACS being an individual tournament, I could certainly respect that mindset but it also goes against the spirit of competition too. Knowing Taff though, he turns down no competition. (This can be good, and bad for him!) I think it's the competitive juices we all have while playing this game. We all WANT to win. Can't fault that mindset at all. He gave it what he had, and was well short. EVERYONE would've lost this round against CF though . Proud of your effort and dedication Craig.
