NOTE: Please do not post on rounds that have not been revealed on the leaderboard. Moderating is in effect and they will be removed. Please use the Locker Room threads to discuss rounds not revealed. Thanks! The Press Tent will be a feature on TGC Tours where you can come in after a round or tournament and answer some questions from the press. You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!

After your unfortunate DSQ last week, you must have been pumped to do well here today, how was your round?last week was unfortunate yes, especially when it was out of my control, but hey we move on! and yes a real solid round from me today, made a few crucial putts from 10-15 ft that held the round together, i also left a few putts out there, but 12 under is a great start for me.Highlight of your round?actually there was nothing stand out, seems a strange thing to say after a -12 but it was just an all round solid and consistent knock without any frills. How was the course?yeah, i love this place, it's a pleasure to play, the greens are prob a little too easy for my liking, but that will all change come the final two rounds, then it's roller coaster golf...love it!How will you relax tonight, any plans?I hear the tequila is good here, it will probably be a case of..1 tequila, 2 tequila 3 tequila.....floor!ha ha! your not serious right!umm! yeah..i mean no!Lovely and calm today the wind never got above 7 mph, will your game cope if it picks up?listen, if you want the rainbow then you have to put up with the rain...do you know who said that? umm oscar wilde? Dolly parton! ....and people think she's just a big pair of tits!

You just missed the Cut last week using an exemption. How do you feel this week will play out?
It was disappointing not to make the cut but life goes on. Hit a stellar first round of 59 this week which is much better than my 75 last week in round 1. Looking to keep this form for the second round.
Wow, that's an incredible difference from last week.
Yeah. I felt I had this course down in practice scoring from -9 to -13. Just been hitting everything the way I wanted and got the results. This exemption should not go to waste this week.
Are you liking this weeks choice of course?
With scores like that what's not to like *laughs*. The greens were a lot easier than the emirates course but looking forward to the challenge for the weekend due to the new pin placements and tee boxes. I have also heard the greens may dry out with the hot weather so my approach game will be critical.
You look set for making the weekend with the way you have been scoring. What are your plans now?
Just going to hit the practice range again and try and keep the form I have found this week.
Good Luck and hope to catch you after your second round.

•What was the highlight of your round/tournament? The back 9, had to get something going after only being -3 at the turn. Managed 8 birdies on the back.
•What was the low-light of your round/tournament? The front 9, for some reason I couldnt get any appraoch shots close. I played a practice round right before so I'd know how the 6-11mph wind would effect approach shots and I was -8 after 9 in that. Funnily enough I only managed 3 birdies in the practice back 9 so my first round proper was a complete reversal.
•What did you think of the course? Love it, rewards good shots and there's no real crazy testing sloped putts.
•How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? I was just trying to post between -10 and -12 as a solid starter, after the front 9 I was sweating.
•Who's that guy in the corner looking at the Tournament roster and checking names on Wikipedia? Oh, thats Tim. I think he's some sort of celebrity stalker. I'm surprised he hasn't asked if I'm related to Larry yet.

Catching up with Dave Mills as he is exiting from the scorers tent of round 2 at The Qatar Masters.
Dave, we missed you after round 1? -Yeah, I was in shock with all the low rounds that were being posted.
61, for your first round, right. -Hard to believe after a 61, your still a half dozen off the lead.
What were your impressions? -After almost a dozen practice rounds here after missing the cut last week, I knew that it would be a birdie fest out here this week. Any hole you don't birdie would be a lost stroke to the field. I came in thinking it would take rounds of 63 to make the cut, so I needed a fast start.
I began the tournament with three straight birdies and closed with a 30 on the front, and backed that up with 31 on the back nine including 4 straight birds from 12 to 15. 61 was might lowest career round in competition. I was mighty stoked and then saw the big board and I was tied for 30th!
So, how was it today in round 2? - A little nerve racking, I didn't want to miss two cuts in a row, and knowing that now the cut could be closer to 19 under, I knew I had to put another good round up. Started with a birdie, and then added birdies at 2,4,5,6,8 and 9, to go out in 28. I started feeling a little more comfortable, because I have always averaged better on the second nine here. Then I drive it in the bunker at 10, and make a great save to keep the round going. Shot 32 on the back nine, and my new career best round of 60.
Any thing in particular stand out? -Not really, I played solid steady golf. Bogie free through 36 holes is definitely a plus. There was the par save at 10 and another at 12 I believe that kept the momentum on my side.
It looks like -21 will be safe for the weekend, so what are your plans looking ahead? -This is a new experience, the first event I was right on the edge, and just made the cut on the number, last week, I was hoping that the cut would drop, but didn't. This week, I don't have to sweat it out. I hear the set-up for the weekend is going to be a lot different than the first two rounds, will just have to adjust and see where it goes.

Here's Andi Smith, HI ANDI MISSED YOU FIRST TIME ROUND, HOW HAVE YOUR TWO ROUNDS GONE? HI, erm, well, not to bad really, been having a few wobbles with the putting stick during practice so I was little sceptical on what to expect. Plus after I noticed me ol mukka Nathan Allen had shot a cracking 55 -16 in rd 1 it brought on the shakes, , and I was only -4 at the turn of rd1 I thought oh dear, but a good back 9 salvaged a -12. WHAT ABOUT ROUND TWO?I left the clubhouse more buoyant but when I looked at the leaderboard and seen Nath had shot another -15 for a -31 total thru 2, I abruptly stopped turned around and went and brought some new trousers, lol, anyway a good solid round gave me a -14 which puts me level with my fierce rival Tony McGettigan, so all's good so far. THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW CHANGES TO THE COURSE DUE TO THIS HEATWAVE DRYING IT OUT, HOW WILL IT PLAY THROUGH RDS 3 AND 4?Well if im lucky enough to make the cut this week, it will be a tougher test, and personally I feel this is how it should be. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ANDI, SEE YOU OVER THE WEEKEND, HOPEFULLY FOR YOU ANYWAY.Thanks.

bit like a golfing robot yes! affirmative!
ok ha ha, enough of the robot jokes! Whether we are based on carbon or on silicon makes no fundamental difference; we should each be treated with appropriate respect.
I hate my job!!! beeep!

Hi Brad, it looked like more of the same from last week out there in the first two rounds
Yes, my ball striking is right where I want it to be. I played some nice shots and seemed to have my ball under control.
You seemed to have adjusted a bit better to the new putting changes since I watched you practising in the early part of the week
Yeah, I still don't have the feel and touch that I need to make the most of my good general play, but I am definitely improving.
You still looked like you missed a few short ones, especially in round two?
I missed a couple of 7 footers with not much break, a straightish 11 footer and shockingly I missed a 5 footer, but that one was no gimme as it had about a foot and half break on it!
Just like last week, you are a few shots off the lead with two rounds to go. What are your goals for the weekend?
Obviously I would like to win, but with all these great players on the leaderboard it is going to be so difficult. I will have to play my very best golf and hope I make the putts that I need to.
The course looks like it's going to play a lot harder on the weekend as the greens have really dried out and there is going to be some tough pins that will be hard to attack.
Thanks for your time and Good Luck
Thanks

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? Uh -- that's an easy one. The double ACES and the eagle on #2 in Round 2. Yes, you heard my right. I still can't believe I aced two in 1 round!
What was the low-light of your round/tournament? Having three eagles in Round 2 and only getting to -12. Par on the other Par 5's killed me and missed 3/4 putts inside 10 feet. Really bummed I blew my best chance to jump on Highway 55.
What did you think of the course? Beautiful as always.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? T38 help and happy. Should of been higher, but at least it looks like I will finally make a cut!

Next into the press tent its Tony Mc Gettigan, Tony how do u feel sitting 26 under after 2 rounds of the Qatar Masters?Content. Putted well but still a lot of improvements to b made in my game in terms of consistency, do u mend Golf carts in here? Er, Golf carts? This is a press tent only! Why ask?Hmm i see,its just i have a heard a lot of whining coming from this direction lately, like somebody had a squeaky wheel on there Golf cart that needed repaired Oh no thats just Andi Smith, he tends to reflect lets just say on what might have being post round especially when it came to the 18th @ yebel last week!! Ah my auld buddy ANDI SMITH,you say reflect i say moan hes had nothin 2 whinge about lately, hes being playin some great golf , i supose its only natural for him to moan though, as hes a Liverpool fan and they do like to reflect, especially of days of yesteryear
Swiftly moving on as we're running short on time, wat are your aims for the season and whos impressing u thus far on the european tour?
My aim for the season is to be as consistent as i can and to make as many cuts as possible ,i need to work on my consistency for the 4 rounds of a tourney, impressing me this week is another friend of mine NATHAN ALLEN,hes 31 under after 2 rounds, hes a right snake in the grass that guy, appropriately named TROWELHEAD as when he hits with full force on the golf course it can be quite staggering ..Elsewhere another auld buddy of mine BRENDAN BUCKLEY has made a solid start to the season,he doesn't know what modesty means though, unlike me lol.ANDI SMITH mentioned already is another fierce rival and friend of mine who has made an awesome start to the season with victory in south africa, a top 5 last week and hes playin well here in Qatar again!!DOYLEY is in the hunt again though over here after winning @ yebel last week with an impressive tally.
Thanks for your time Tony and good luck for the rest of the tourney!!
My pleasure and thank u!!
