Hello Acid Flashback, or should I say Flacid Assbanger! You got pounded out there today son, what happened? I pulled a hammy, then developed a nasty chaff from all the damn sand! That wind was just blowing it everywhere and I mean everywhere. Tip for young players - best not to go Commando in Qatar.
Commando? You mean like in the movies haha. "I'll be back" haha. I like you Sully. You're a funny guy.
Sully? Thats why I am going to kill you last. After my caddy that is. And my manager. And the person who dressed me this morning.
So... what do you think of our beautiful country, this magnificent golf course and our gracious hospitality? Alright. The course is looking great - well watered though the wind looks to be drying it out quickly. I have been here a week enjoying your luxurious accomodation and bar... it is free right? Anyway, so I had played 3 or 4 practice rounds here and I was feeling confident I could have a go at a low score. But then comes game day for the GBPs (Green Bay Packers), they're 16-0 up, the sun is shining, all is good with the world. I tee up on the 1st, a breezy 9mph crosswind warns me but all is good, GBPs are going to the Super Bowl. Then I hear over the wireless that they lost! 2 touchdowns let in within 1 minute. This does not help my game. I'm one over after the 5th hole and I know my tournament is in jeopardy. I eventually managed to fight back to card a 67, but not enough.
Would you like a tissue? No, can you please pass me that mallet. You know when I said I was going to kill you last? I lied.

Wait one second, I will just grab the man we have been talking about... Steve... err Acid! One moment of your time. You have possibly posted the worst 2nd round score, ever, at the Qatar Masters, could you explain your round to our viewers?
Wow. Should have seen that coming. To say I am a bit gutted would be an understatement. Those winds didn't let up one bit. I was just uncomfortable really. Scoring Par here is awesome for the weekend golfer, but you know, shucks, I'm a pro. True story. I have a card... want to see it, it's right here...
That's enough air-time from that "professional", quotation marks for the deaf, we will now move onto more replays of Tim's two, yes TWO, hole-in-ones!

Joining us here in Qatar this week are a few sponsors exemption players and I've just spotted one now... Rod have you got a moment to spend with us? Sure. How have you enjoyed your week here in Qatar? Well aside from the warm temperatures and even warmer desert winds I've loved my time here and obviously a special mention to my sponsors TGCTOURS.COM for making it possible. Ok great, why this week and what are your expectations on playing this euro event? Well my last performance on the Web.com Tour was solid and gave me a lot of confidence in my game that I felt I could step it up and compete so it was now or never I guess.... I see you have posted a midway total of -21 talk us through that? Opened with a satisfying 58 so I was feeling good and then overnight and heading into round 2 I guess the excitement and nervous tension got to me and I really struggled to -8 for the round and that in itself was a great total as the winds were gusting 10mph and out of the north which is one of the worst directions being into the wind on most holes it feels like especially 3 of the par 5s keeping them out of range and then everything was brushing the holes on the greens to and staying out. We should know pretty soon on your fate for earning your tour card shortly as a lot of people are joining the scorers tent. Presently you sit T32 and looking good!! Fingers crossed. Thanks for your time and hopefully see you over the weekend Rod? Yeah me too. Thanks.... Now where's the bar???

Dan, coming off your first Top 20 finish, how do you sum up your play for the first two rounds?
In a word, solid. No bogies and no misreads of the greens. Had 3-4 lip out over the 2 rounds but I know I'll be here for the weekend.
Anything you're disappointed in?
Well in practice I've been as low as 56, so I wanted both rounds in the 50's, just couldn't get hot enough with the flat stick. Like I said earlier, didn't really misread any putts, had a couple lip out in the opener and had 1-2 need another roll or 2 to drop.
Seeing some of the early scores posted, I knew I was up against it and could feel some tension. Think the cut is going to be between -19 and -21, so wanted to get to -21 to feel safe. Hit -22 so I will carry on.
Do you think you have a shot of winning or at least a top 10?.
Well the course is drying out and greens should be quicker for the weekend so you never know. I just want to keep improving, keep making cuts, and keep earning money. Way too many good players capable of going low each and every time out so I can't concern myself with what others do. Just focus on me and each and every shot.
Thanks for your time and good luck in the final rounds.
Thanks.

Well well well, if it isn't Daniel Quade. Nice to finally get a chance to catch up with you, missed you at the first two events. What happened?
Oh I played em Bob. However, I was clicking the auto start on my Tahoe from the 18th tee at both events. Sheepishly snuck right out of the back of the scorer's tent after both round twos and in the Tahoe to get... on to the next one...
Well getting on to the next one so quickly to practice must be helping out, you at least sniffed the cut line this time around eh?
Ya, was really hoping to get that 1st cut under my belt this week, -15 had me feeling hopeful at first. But, my hopes started dwindling pretty rapidly when I peeped scorecard after scorecard coming in super low. Heck w/ the PGA Tour, European Tour: These Guys Are Good.
Any highlights from round 2 out there today?
Not a one Bob.
Heading to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic from here?
Yessir! I'm determined to be playing on the weekend very soon, TPC Scarpacci West may just be the place to do it.
Last question, and I'll let you head off to tackle Scarpacci West. You seem pretty intent on just making a cut, you're not playing to win?
I came in as probably thee worst golfer on tour. After a few practice sessions on the Q-School courses I was aiming for +25 thinking that would assure me a no sweat ticket onto the Web.com tour. Ended up kind of finding my swing mid qualifier, went +5 overall and boom, the sweat was on, but for the European Tour cut line instead. I was as shocked as anyone to see I hit the cut line right on the number and found myself on a big boy tour.
So just making a cut and I'll be ecstatic!
But ya as for winning a tournament? Let's focus on making a cut first. Baby steps, Bob. Plus, I got a family to feed here, need to at least start earning some monies.
Hey, that gives me an idea, I might just roll into the Dubai Desert Classic bumping that Busta Rhymes song... I'm gettin' Arab Monies.
Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
No?
Live under power lines?
No, why?
Just wondering... good luck next week!
Thanks.

hey doggz' quick word for us....you didnt pull up any trees in round 3 shooting -6 was not quite what you wanted, no not at all, i left a few shots out there, i was expecting an eventful round and it turned out quite boring and steady, needed something to kickstart the round and it just never happened for me.
any chance of a top 10 finish now prob not mate, -9 was my aim today and 3 shots off that would have dropped me down the board quite a bit.
I see you had a woman caddy today, what happened to your regular caddy? oh lol that was a story...we had a tequila drinking contest last night and he walked into a cactus face first, needless to say he was feeling a bit of a prick this morning so i decided to rest him.
So why a woman, i've never seen her before look man when you pay 500 dollars for a hooker and you are are lets say...too drunk to enter the fray, then you have to get your monies worth somehow.
She didn't seem too happy out there have you tried walking powderfinger in high heels...it was hilarious!
haha good luck in the final round cheers pal

We welcome Ewan back to the press tent after his third round, didn't go quite as well as the first 2, any comments?
Yeah, I bogeyed the first 2 holes for my third round which does not bode well for the rest of the weekend. Got some bad news after I came of my second round, but after making the cut and earning my tour card told myself to finish the weekend so I wouldn't be DQ'd. Was glad to hold onto a -5 score after that.
What are your views on the new course layout for the weekend?
I'm surprised they got as much done as they did overnight. I like the different pin placements and further back tees but I have absolutely no idea why they put a mound in the middle of the 18th fairway.
This should be your first earnings on the tour, any spending plans?
Yeah thinking about getting a new driver and also think ill throw Mr Acid a few notes to get himself some underwear for the next event.
HAHAHAHA! Yeah, I don't know what to make of him.
Me neither, but he seems like a cool cat. Doyley even made reference to myself looking like acid before the party started. I am not 100% sure on what to think of that because that must have been one hell of a party.

Hi Brad, you looked like you were in a battle out there today, but you managed to post a decent score n the end
I was struggling with my long game today, I kept missing my intended areas and leaving myself in awkward spots. I wasn't striking the ball as I did the first two rounds.
Conversely though, your short game looked pretty solid today.
Yeah, my putting was great for a change. I two putted well from distance, holed a few clutch putts and got it up and down on most occasions when I needed to. Disturbingly I had to pull out my wedge on the green three times during my round as I ended up snookered and felt that it was the only option that I had, these greens can be brutal if you land in the wrong area.
You do know that shot will be outlawed starting next week don't you?
Yes I got the memo, a line has been drawn, whether you like it or not that is the rule and we're all going to have to abide by it. Rules change from time to time, I'll just accept it and move on, it's the same for everyone. So I am going to have to make sure that I do my homework on the upcoming courses so that I don't leave myself in those situations again.
Are you going to work on anything before tomorrow?
I need to hit a few on the range to try and regain my timing, I hit too many loose ones today.
Thanks for your time and good luck.
OK, no problem.

Entering the press tent is Andi Smith, HI ANDI, WE DIDNT CATCH UP WITH YOU AFTER ROUND 3?Hi, Erm no well I had to change the bearings on my Golf Cart as it had a SQUEEKY WHEEL. OH, I SEE, WELL LETS SPEAK ABOUT ROUNDS 3 AND 4. >:DDo we have too? AFFRAID SO WHAT HAPPENED?Well to be blunt I played like a complete and utter wally, I think Nathan Allen's caddy switched my caddy's notes at some point , but I have no proof, but I was also informed by a course marshall that Tony McGettigan was snooping around my bag, think he switched my putter but again I have no proof of this, its all speculation. NOT A GOOD WEEKEND FOR YOU THEN?You could say that I did not play well at all, but hey that's golf got to take the rough with the smooth, and concentrate now for next week. I SEE TONY AND NATHAN BOTH FINISHED ABOVE YOU? >:DYes u have good eye sight I see, u can obviously read as well? HOW DOES THIS MAKE YOU FEEL?Honestly, Wounded, congratulations to Nathan top 5 finish, class , as for Tony, well the thing is you have to let him him finish above you sometimes or he gets a bit dis-heartened the auld boy. DID YOU ENJOY THE COURSE CHANGING AS IT DID?Yes I did it was a proper test, I just got some unlucky bounces here and there and there and there, a strange mound appeared on the 18th fairway over night Friday, they must have some very big MOLES ( )in this area. THANKS ANDI, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK.That you will, I'll probably find something to MOAN about , Thanks.

hey DoGgz where do you start on that final round...that was crazy dude! well there was def some sh%$ creek action going on after the 2nd hole!
+3 after 5 holes was certainly not the start you wanted, that 7 on the 2nd will haunt you for a while no doubt. well it will make a welcome change from being haunted by the mother in law, yeah the 2nd was a case of fine margins two chips up to flag which were a tad too strong then to over putt back to the fringe was frankly unforgivable...these things happen i guess.
so +3 after 5 you would have been forgiven if you gave up the ghost, but kudos to the fact that you finished -6 for the round, amazing grit shown there! I think it was that 65 ft swing put on 8 that got me back into gear
incredible putt yeah, the albatross on 17 was pretty special too yeah that was a fun shot for sure...however my targets were -9 or -10 foreach of the last two rounds, and to fall short was disappointing, but after playing rnd 4 in testy wind conditions then i prob got to expect not to trouble the leaders.
Decent tour though, well played cheers

Scott Doyley R3 61 R4 58
Noticed you skipped the media after your third round? Yea, it was all eyes on the prize - after pulling to within 1 stroke I had to head right to the range and prepare. I'll pay the fines, just skim it off the top of the earnings!
So lets just get it out there, looks like you played well on the weekend, what were the keys to your success? I had a few strokes to make up heading into Saturday. Looks like the course was toughened up by a good 5 or 6 strokes so my goal was to try and shoot 3 strokes off my first two round scores. Coming in with a 61 on Saturday was a good start - picked up a few shots on the leaders. Just a solid round with few mistakes, well one mistake really, I'll get to that later. I'd rather talk about today's round. Wow, what a great day! Caught fire and couldn't miss! I made some great putts, lots of chip-ins (from off the green!) and even nailed the pin from 185 yards out. Didn't go in, but the 2 foot tap-in bird was a nice consolation prize! Pressure was on me as I missed my approach shot on 18 and had a testy putt coming back up to the pin. Managed to snake it in for the 58 not knowing how the rest of the field would shoot. Now it's time to scoreboard watch!
So with all the great scoring, there weren't any issues out on the course? No, I didn't quite say that. But there weren't many. Only two shots I'd like to take back from the weekend. First one was during R3 - I had a good distance to flop in a PW but a mental error switching from a pitched LW and I ended up with a Frankenstein'd flop-LW. So my shot came up 10 yards short and I wasn't able to make bird. The other mental mistake came during R4 with a short 4-foot tap-in for par that I rushed. Ended up lipping out for my only bogey on the card that day.
You sticking around for more European Tour events? After gaining exemption status for the next two years after winning the HSBC Golf Championship I felt it was a good time to extend my stay. Unfortunately, my wife has demanded I return home (sorry I didn't bring you honey!) so I'll be returning to the PGA Tour for Week 04. I would like to thank all the members of the European Tour for being so hospitable. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return a few more times before the season is out. OK, I'm off to pack and watch the last few golfers trickle in. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on Tom Morgan who is within striking distance!

So Tony, 40 under total @ powderfinger!Your thoughts please!!?Well i'm content overall, first two rounds played solid.3rd n 4th round things got a little bit trickier with harder pin placements n firmer conditions but i personally welcomed the changes for the 2nd half of the tourney,it adds extra intrique n kept the tourney a little more fresh as a result i fee.l Were u happy how u dealt with round 3 n 4? 3rd round yes, shot a 62, 4th round no.Made a few silly errors, salavaged a 66 though. Its key i feel to try n scrape outta score n hang in there when things arent goin well in a round! True.It looks like you might squeeze a top 10 finish this week, you gotta b satisfied with that? ,Of course i am. Very pleased. A lot of great players here in this week,a top 10 finish is very welcome Did u get a chance 2 see any of the other competitors play here this week? Not really, the temperatures saw to that, i just kept on the move out here,if i didnt i probably would have melted such is the level of heat here.Keeping on the subject of melting for a sec,my auld buddy Andi Smith had his own struggle with R3 n 4 i can hardly keep a straight face .Finishing above him has made it the trip out here VERY worthwhile ive had quite enough of his gloating this past few weeks, well guess whos gloating now? , i've heard hes being "reflecting" again in the press tent, more like...WAH! WAH!! n ........WAHHH!! U 2 have quite the rivalry huh? Ohhhhhhh yes... Final comments on the Qatar Masters? Enjoyed the tournament,a lot of great golf on show as the leaderboard will testify to. Fair play to my other arch rival n buddy Nathan Allen, Looks like hes grabbed runner up spot here this week, great scoring with 47 under total!!U cant beat lucky golfers!! Thanks for your time Tony!! Pleasure!
