Hi guys thanks as always for all the work you all put in I just thought I'd post my observations on the format change. I like it in theory but I think it's a format that favours the naturally better players. Obviously the lack of warning didn't help this but I'm sure that wasn't anyones prefered but as someone who has to practice a fair amount to be able to compete with everyone on the tour I felt the differences between the courses were too great between the rounds. Pin location, tee location, green speed and on the 18th a different layout I felt were to many changes and made it feel like I was playing 2 different courses. Also I wonder if a tour rather than a tournament would be better as having 2 separate tournaments kinda made it feel a bit more disjointed. That said I certainly think with a bit of tweeking the idea is a really good one and i do appreciate the fact the guys running this are looking for ways to make this fantastic tour even better so thank you for that and I hope I haven't come across as just whining

Felt like I was back at qschool trying to hold some of them greens... Kept having flashbacks of my nightmare rounds at Kodiak and son gual. Makes for an interesting final 2 rounds tho!! Will certainly decide the cream of the crop!!

Appreciate the feedback guys - keep it coming! We'll learn quite a bit from this event and work to improve on it should we choose to continue down this road in the future.

Personally, not sure about the change in green speeds but would love to see different pin positions (and maybe tee locations but that's not as important) wherever possible - would add a whole new level of realism
This is from a guy who is 99% certain he won't make the cut lol

I think it's a brilliant n much needed move changing the pins from round 1 n 2 to more tricky n testing pins for round 3 n 4 with the greens a little faster as well.. it's added a freshness to the tourney @ powderfinger n also more intrigue..I personally would welcome pin n condition changes to all tourneys at the half way point like we're seeing at powderfinger. For those questioning the timing of tgctours announcing these changes i would say, although it came as a surprise so soon before tourney started u still have till Saturday to post rounds 1 n 2,so u do have sufficient time to practice if u so wish on round 3 n 4..I myself have already completed all 4 rounds n I enjoyed the tourney as a whole.. Good luck to all of u in the Qatar masters n beyond!!

I don't mind the changing of tees and pin locations but do question the adding of a mound to the 18th fairway and to some extent changing the rough. Only thing that should change is tee markers and pin locations, with green speeds to a lesser extent. Course layout changes or additions to holes should never happen.

For what it's worth, this is where my opinion lies as well. In the future, I can see us mainly using multiple pins and tees (with advance notice) but having the remaining course and conditions remaining the same.

Great stuff, now all we need is HB to let us set the wind speed and maybe the direction too. Oh and to make the green grid big enough to cover the whole green so you can make the green large enough for multiple pin locations.

BTW, in favour of multiple pins locations for these tours whenever it is possible.

It does complicate the creation process so my best guess is that it wouldn't happen more than once on any given week. We'll definitely need to plan it out and coordinate with designers and then spread the love to all tours.

I like the idea of changing pins also. Maybe you can notify the designers a few weeks to a month in advance of the course announcemnts so they have time to set pin and tee locations and they can get approved.

Exactly, thats why the whole green needs a grid as when you tuck the pin away at the back of the green theres normally the front half with no grid which is what causes people to chip/flop on greens.
