I know everybody loves that 2 yard edge of light rough around the fairway, but I’m about ready to never design a course with light rough again! The way those little indents come and go no matter what you try to do with the handles and waypoints is wasting so much of my time, I’m nearly ready to quit.

Instead of messing with handles, just overlap another spline with just two points - one on either side of the indent.
Splines are amazing. Gone are the awkward transitions between brush shapes.

A cold shiver just ran down my spline...

What about around curves? Check this out...

Yes, works round curves fine too with some trial and error, no messing with the way points are ever needed.
Watch this video.

Start taste's video at 6:45. That's when he starts talking about how to remove those kinks.

I'm with you, can't stand the splines....still lay down my FW's with brushes. If you line up the edges, there aren't many awkward shape transitions.

Wow, how did I miss this? I’ve watched a lot of Taste’s videos and somehow never saw this one. I’ll definitely try that!

Another hint. Use too many waypoints. Then smooth path. Then delete extra waypoints around the corner. You may have to smooth again but that should handle it,

Wow just tried the splines for the first time and man is it faster! I started a course soon after release and im noway near finished after maybe 70+ hours (probably was a bad idea to start with trying to make an RCR of the local course, but im sure most people did that) and pretty much had given up. Did check some videos at that time and splines seemed like an headache then. But after watching this last night i decided to start on my second local course and try out splines (but also dont bother with an RCR and just do an "inspired" version and that might also be the reason) and after a couple of hours i had the foundation for 9 holes more or less finished, quite the time difference

thabks for this. I’m doing the additional splines to remove kinks but it seems I’m not doing enough. I will revisit it. Thanks again

Thanks again You have to keep in mind the width of the spline path you're trying to fix. I'l explain it. If I'm fixing the fairway I always leave it in the standard width (2.5 yards), which is also the width of the spline I'm using to fix the kinks, so I place those two points in the middle of the fairway path. But if I'm fixing the rough, which I usually have in the 4.5 yards width range, I can't place the second splines in the middle of the first cut, because it won't get to the edge I want to fix, so I place it more or less just inside the fairway boundaries, so the new 2.5 yards wide spline "touches" the outer edge of my desired first cut

I should clarify .... by not doing enough I meant I’m leaving some undone. I am getting to the edges by moving the splines out to the edges.
