So essentially, you want to play at a high level but you want the game to be easier for you than it is for some of your competitors? No offence meant, but is competing with someone who is playing a more difficult version of the game to you really an achievement? If i was missing cuts in whatever tour i was on because i wanted to improve playing the game on Tour, and there were people making cuts just because they took the easy way out and used Players, i simply wouldn't bother. All this has done is turn every PGA/Euro thread into a new "Which Clubs" debate. I feel like Doyley is trolling us lately The game can be just as difficult with player clubs as it can be with tour clubs. That's the wonderful thing about golf, nothing is guaranteed. I don't care what clubs a player uses. If I were to be on excellent form with the tour clubs (which I was for a while) and somebody beat me using standard, I'd actually say well done. You've beaten me with the lowest club set, giving yourself a severe disadvantage in regards to distance especially. We could both play on a course, you on tour and me on player....tee shot over water splitting the fairway, tour clubs can carry but player won't. Depending on the size of the body of water I could possibly have to club down 2 or 3 clubs. This straight away gives me the disadvantage as you have a shorter approach than me. You have a much better chance at sticking the green than I do as I couldn't carry the water off the tee. That's one example of how player clubs don't guarantee an easier time out on the course. As I said, I can use the tour clubs. But lately with not being able to play as often as I'd like, my consistency has greatly dropped with them. Why should I HAVE to use the tour clubs and be that miserable playing my rounds that I don't want to play anymore? I worked hard to get to the European tour as I said, so why should I, which is basically what you're saying, go back to the Web tour if I want to use player clubs? I don't get to play as often as I'd like due to real life commitments, and I'm therefore not as consistent with the tour clubs now and would prefer to use the player instead....so I'm no longer welcome in the European tour? If I want to play on tgct using player clubs I've to go back to the Web where I started back in season 1? You said it yourself. You have good rounds 30% of the time with Tour, 70-80% of the time on Players. So you're choosing Players clubs to make it easier to score The marginal extra distance doesn't make up for the fact that Tour clubs brings 7s and 8s into play on tough courses. Numbers that generally aren't in play with Players clubs. Everyone is welcome at whatever level, but yes, IMO, someone who shoots the same score as you using Tour clubs with you using Players, they are a better player than you and should be playing at a higher level than you. Especially on tough tracks with narrow fairways and water everywhere. If you make enough cuts to keep your Euro card using the same clubs as everyone else, you deserve to be there. If not, back to Web it is. What you are basically saying is you want the admins to make things easier for you so you can maintain your current level, rather than you putting the work in to maintain your current level. Even after you worked hard to get to that level in the first place. Makes no sense ps - this idea that everyone ahead of you on the leaderboard is there because they spend all day every day practicing and you can't is just wrong. We all have real life stuff going on

What if said player laid up with a 5W or 3W on that hole? 3 wood 245 vs 255. 5 wood 225 vs Might be missing something here. Are you talking about what you see if following someone's ghost in game or what the API gives back in terms of distance?

You not requesting going back to the PGA with player clubs then? Honestly, on a personal level, I don't care what happens. I'm gonna play Tour Clubs regardless of where I am and the rest of the community can take over complaining about stuff. Just gotta make sure I have enough popcorn for the show.

I'll leave it at that, as it's been done to death. Fair play to the rest of your reasoning.

I was talking about ghosts but once they play from the 1st tee they cannot change between tour or players clubs. I was just throwing an idea out as a possible easy check method.

I'm happy to play whatever. I've never hit a single shot in this game with anything other than a tour club and I ain't about to change now. And to be fair I'm at a stage now where on most courses I think I would have an advantage over someone using Players clubs. All of the people I play with use Tour, all of the ghosts I load up use Tour, I really don't think this is a massive issue.
BUT, for the life of me I can't understand why the Rocher Tour can police itself but the PGA can't? What's that all about? I get that the API doesn't pick it up but this is possible to police via the community. And to say the Rocher is the hardcore players is just plain wrong, there are players in CC-Z who turn up week in week out, they're as hardcore as anybody.
