Just spent a pleasant hour racing the Caterham 7's around Brands Hatch Indy GP - those cars are so happy being sideways, it's impossible not to have bags of fun Early impressions good - graphically very nice, force feedback - better that Assetto Corsa An early time for you to shoot at if you fancy blueorfe ...in TT mode, 1:31.179 - no tuning. Feel free to post a car/track combo of your choice and I'll have a bash at it...

How is this game on the PS4 with controller? I had Project Cars 1 on PS4, but with controller almost unplayable, its more a game for steering wheels, shame really cause I like the concept of the game. Dont have the money for steering wheel.

I told Canuck the other day: I sheepishly asked my wife if I could buy a wheel (I'm nearly 40) she replied "Can't you just use a plate"? She thought I was pretending to steer. Crazy fool.
I have always been good on racing games but I couldn't master this with a pad. Funny it seems a bit like my relationship with TGC2 right now. It's technical and I just can't figure it out. Maybe it's my age. Anyway, I've sort of pencilled in Gran Turismo for a future racing game. The first Grid game I loved, it was a spin off of the old Toca games which were great. Sadly, Grid 2 was sh%$.

Upgrading to a wheel soon, I’ve been on Forza on console but will be playing 7 on PC I expect. The graphics difference in Horizon between PC and XBone was astounding.

Yeah, I had a quick go on the demo last night. My Jaw was on the floor! Mind blowing graphics in the race when there's a storm blowing.

I just had a quick go and the best that I could manage was 137.341. I found it too difficult to keep it going sideways, I would always over steer too much when correcting the slide. I ended up just keeping it on the track rather than spinning around all the time I've driven that same car in Driveclub VR and it felt much nicer there, maybe I was expecting the same solid performance without the tune? It felt very floaty to me in PC2.

Hehe - it is currently world best time in that car - tho not many have run it on that track yet.
That's kind of how they are without tuning - plus Brands is very bumpy. I enabled "enhanced force feedback" - got a real good feeling where the grip would disappear and come back - it's why I chose this car first - always use it to dial in wheel settings on a new game. It could be with all the hassle you had with setting up your wheel that it's not giving good feedback? On the T-300 it was pretty plug and play, aside from personal preferences.
Feel free to pick a car/track you like if you wanna post a time.

Hey Brad, so what do you think, PC2 or Forza7, im thinking about getting one of these, not sure, this will be my first racing game, i have a t150, not the best wheel, but its ok, just wondering your thoughts, i saw canuck playing on pc and he shut down PC2 and got his money refunded.

I think it depends what you want out of a racing game really. I was using a T150 with PC2 earlier and it felt pretty good. If you're into the tuning side and are prepared to put some time in with setting your car up, then Project Cars 2 might be the way to go. I think that has more modes too. I'm not a fan of the tuning etc, I just get my brother to sort all that out and give me the info He loves all that kind of stuff, it's amazing how much quicker you can get the car to go around a particular track with the correct setup. Some of the cars feel horrible without being tuned, but I had a race earlier in a GT3 car (can't remember which one atm) and it felt pretty good straight away. As for Forza, I'm really not sure as I've only had a quick go with a controller, so I can't compare the handling of the two yet. It looked like it will be very good though, I enjoyed my brief time with it. You could just download the demo of Forza here www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/forza-motorsport-7-demo/9p2xh29364lh to see what you think. I've played the older versions of Forza on xbox360 and they were very good, so I would expect the new one to be very good too. EDIT - You should be able to run both games with that setup, how high you'll be able to push the settings though, I'm not sure?

Another time for anyone that wants a crack, ( Crazycanuck1985 ?) TT mode, still no tuning... Circuit of the Americas GP, Mclaren P1 GTR - 2:01.860 Real change of pace from the Caterhams Currently sitting as the worlds best time on that track - in an untuned car It seems the scoreboards are not yet uber competitive...

What graphical detail will depend on resolution, but at 1920x1080 I would guess you'll be high @ 30-60fps.
