Releases Thursday and I'm pumped. I liked the first one but it had alot of flaws. Pcars 2 has a massive career mode, almost 200 cars and 60 tracks! This game is great for online leagues as well. Will be getting this on PC

Enjoyed the first - but Assetto Corsa mostly won the battle for play time over the last year or so.
I'm interested in online if there is a ghost racing mode - online tends to be just too crashy bashy when dropping into random rooms. Mostly not on purpose (tho there are obviously the same 5-10% that are dicks as you get in all other walks of life) - but still really kills the fun being swiped out of a race. By far the best races I've ever had online were in ghost mode.
Will check in after release to see your thoughts.

What I found interesting is that online mode now has a racing certification system, similar to iRacing. Clean racers will be rewarded and matched up with people with similar skill and safety record.

Well that sounds encouraging! I had an iRacing membership for a couple of years, but the expensive payment model for the tracks and cars was a bit much on top of a regular subscription payment. In addition the game engine is getting so dated now - it's almost 20 years old, really starting to show these days. But for actual fair racing, not much competes with it.

Getting this on the PS4. Seat & wheel all set up & ready to go. Got project cars but couldn't figure the tuning or save more than one tune. Looks like its going to be easier to tune the cars & you can save more than one tune on a car.

I feel like if I had a nice wheel and pedals I'd really enjoy this...but I'm not sure I wanna lay out for those right now.

Always felt Forza was the best of the console racers over the years. Don't own an xbox anymore tho, so missed the last version all together. May pick it up on PC if I can play my Xbox mates!

Need a wheel for this game freaking amazing though I'm in the market for a new wheel. It's a toss up between the t300 or the Fanatec CSL Elite. I got this game yesterday and it took me 2 and half hours to install it!! This was from disk, it would have taken way less time to download and install it through steam. Then a further 2 hours getting my brothers T150 to be recognized in game. I tried a few different drivers, even tried to get it to recognize my old t100, which it wouldn't? That's what really bugs me about PC gaming, it's never just install and play, there's always some BS that you have to deal with! I'll get it for PS4 too, so I can play hassle free. I got it working eventually, but only played for an hour or so, it felt very good and I can see that this is going to be a great game. I also played it in VR which was a blast, the only issue is that I can't play that way on my couch as the PC is in another room and running cables that far will render the sensors useless I would imagine. Playing while sitting on a chair that tended to move about a bit took away some of the immersion and spoiled the sensation a little. I can see the potential in this game though, I'm thinking of getting a proper cockpit setup with my Swingcast winnings. With everything solidly in place, this game will be on another level. A shame that my lowly driving skills won't match that level though

A shame that my lowly driving skills won't match that level though I have a T300 - the wheel itself is very nice indeed, but it does have two problems, both of which I needed to manually address; 1) The pedals set is not the best - a little bit lightweight & no practical gripping system - I needed to add some carpet gripper rods to make sure it didn't move. Might not be an issue if you're mounting it. 2) The wheel desk mount is very poor. I needed to grease it to be able to get proper purchase. As I left this too late, the ball socket had got chewed up and I needed to file it back to smooth before greasing - was a bit of PITA. With both modifications done, it's great. Personally love the belt drive, after having a direct drive MOMO before - the smooth feel seems better. And also noise is a consideration for me - belt driven is quieter. Totally get you about PC vs Console - but you do get some nice bonuses for all that hassle On VR - Rift or Vive? I have Rift, so assuming it's solid in there, I'll probably be buying it today based on your quick first impressions.

Do you use virtual desktop when using your rift, or anything similar? I haven't tried it, but taking the headset on and off to use the keyboard and mouse is a little annoying at times. It was pretty comical at first when I had no idea how to change the camera and I was sitting mid bonnet for a while If I do get a t300, it will probably be with the Thrustmaster T3PA-Pro pedal set. I'm guessing that the Fanatec would be a slight improvement on the T300, but it does quite a bit more.

Nah - I gets a little hot and sweaty strapping two smartphones screens to my face - so appreciate the breaks to remove it every 20mins or so. I went ahead and bought it - it's a pretty hefty download - will post a time or two later, for you and Crazycanuck1985 to go after...

I ended up refunding it. It's a decent game but with Forza coming out on PC next week and me being able to run the demo at 60fps in 4k, I only have time for one racing game other than F1.

That's a shame - was looking forward to challenging you to a TT!
Haven't seen anything confirming/denying VR support in Forza7 yet - have you Andre?
