I think that I am going to switch back to Player Clubs and play the PGA event and win that just to prove how easy Player Clubs are and the overwhelming threat that they pose to the "players" on the PGA Tour.... (tongue firmly in cheek...FYI) I may actually do it but I will have zero chance of winning...Nobody with a WGR in the top 10 could win on the PGA Tour using Players Clubs...All this complaining about Players Clubs on the top tours is pretty comical. Anybody got more fuel left? Dug good luck coming even remotely close to sloaners score and yes I wish u the good luck

Dug well at least on of the most vocal people in this thread has stated couple of times that they probably won't ever advance past the CC levels, so yeah people like to just argue

Assign blame wherever you want. Blame HB for turning this into a difficulty setting as some suggest. Blame TGC powers that be for keeping this decision quiet until the eve of the tours. If you dont wanna read it...dont. If you are want the thread locked...lock it. You point me in the direction of facts that support this decision that are from a real, unbiased sampling and not inner circle opinion and i will be the first one to say i am wrong. I could give a rip what anyone uses or what is mandated. I love the tours and will abide by the rules established. I dont think anyone disputes the fact you can conceivably get into less trouble with player sticks for a tempo or swing result that is not perfect. Nodody really knows how much. I dont think anyone disputes the fact a high level tour club user can possibly score "better" with player clubs either because they may have a more refined swing....or fudge the intregrity of the game if you want to go down that path. Nobody knows if tgat is 2, 4 20 strokes. The billion dollar question remains is will the any clubs produce unrealistic scoring like tgc1 and is the differences between the sets that egregious to warrant dismissal. Until you seriously analyze this in a controlled environment like tours, not society crap, over a prolonged duration, will you ever definitive proof one way or another. So on we go...and this debate will never end. It will continue on every level until its put to rest. Put in the work now during this hodge-podge season to get results so we can start anew in S4 with a lesser amount of bullshit.
Or...just come out and say we decided this because of X,Y, and Z. It might not be whats best for everyone but at least everyone hears the message.

I would like to think the decision wasn't arbitrary or based on a few elitists amongst us, but it came across as one or the other. Besides, there's no season going on, so why not poke the bear now and then? I'm enjoying the banter and I find this all quite entertaining. Plenty of fuel in Rhino land....

The cool thing is: We can play any way we want without "being worth anything". But when we put statistics, tournaments, leagues, etc. - the thing changes its shape. For me, The Golf Club is any game - but with TGCTOURS, it gets much, much, much better and more realistic. I have not yet adapted to the swing, and apparently I will not. I would prefer The Golf Club swing. But I remember a lot of people complaining about the unrealistic scores (-21 per game), and with the change, that's hardly going to happen. On the other hand, anyone who does not adapt to the swing, can give up playing and go to another ...

66-64 in a society event today, and both of those could've been better. I'm telling you, some days this game is glitchy, some days it's not. And I'm not saying that just because my scores are better. It is incredibly obvious in the way the game performs. My scores in Web exhibition were 72-71-69-76, certainly not very good, but they were absolutely my fault. I don't just go blaming my poor play on other things, as some are suggesting.

Lmao...i generally do not get involved in drama here. More often than not i miss it since i dont spend a ton of time on the forums in general. I have NEVER been shown any reason to doubt decisions around here nor do i necessarily doubt this one. The mere fact that tour guy wants this shut down and admins have avoided speaking at all to me says something. There are just too many moving parts in this new game not black and white that you cannot ignore.

The debate will always be there because there are options. If there were no options on what clubs we could use everyone would adapt or move on.
I must say once you get the feel for Tour clubs...the game comes alive. I believe that is what HB was aiming for by making them so hard to hit. Achieve that level..and it's an entirely different game.

It gives anger, right ??

I spent my whole time playing tgc1 missing the 3 click swing of past golf games because with 3 click everything wasn't so automatic and straight. You still had to execute the shot. Never thought HB could improve the swing so much but they have for me. Hazards that never really came into play on the great courses before are very much there with an unwanted fast or slow downswing. I have already been in more fairway bunkers in tgc2 than I have in 3 years of tgc1

I have already been in more fairway bunkers in tgc2 than I have in 3 years of tgc1 When you get to the level that you can play the ball and get the P/P swing in the 90-95% range..when you hit a bad shot...you know it's all on you. In TGC1 if you hit a bad shot it was because you didn't do the right math and didn't loft to the right level. That's not gaming...that to me is just finding a loophole and exploiting it. I'm sure there will be loopholes eventually in this game too, but the achievement of actually being able to play the game as it's meant to be played really makes one feel pretty good once they get there. I know I feel pretty good chalking up a 60 or a 62 with Tours...better than I felt doing the same with Players. I also feel pretty shitty when I screw up a round..because I know it's all on me...not my ability to loft and interpret a chart. The game can kick your ass in TGC2..and some people just can't handle that because they had the golden pacifier to suckle on in TGC1..and now it's gone Mind you this opinion is when the game is performing as it should....throw lag and a glitch in and the game is still incomplete as it stands. But performing as it should...It's pretty fun.

At the end of the day, this is ultimately a video game. There are some people that may play once or twice a week, and those who play every day, grinding their thumb movement until it becomes 2nd nature. I may be wrong but the last time I checked video games were meant to be an enjoyable experience, not a competitive experience to see who has the biggest shlong. Regarding the issue of tour Vs player clubs, why care so much? There are too sides to a coin, and there are two sides to this, you either want to make the highest tours completely elitist for those who have the time to perfect the game, and then there is the flip side, you are here to play a casual game, enjoy it, and still be able to compete against people around the world, regardless of ability. It is my general consesus, although being new to the game, that for those who do not have hours a day to spend playing this VIDEO GAME, that making the top flights almost unplayable for some people isn't right. If you are good enough to play tour clubs, and still compete, then great, and if you have such a problem with the player clubs, why not play them yourselves if you feel they give you that competitive edge that some of you seemingly strive for, with the difference being night and day between the two *Supposedly*. Seriously though, what is the point in playing a game if you cannot enjoy it, simply because you are not or cannot be as invested in the game as others. I seriously feel for those who will be shifting between web.com and the top tours, on the assumption that many Web.com players will be using player clubs. Being messed around, constantly shifting up and down tours, going through stages of playing well and competing for wins, and then down into deep ruts of being at the bottom of the leaderboard on the major tours because you simply dont have the time, or in a lot of cases (No offence, Me included - simply are not that invested in the game to make the jump to tour clubs. Now i ask those tour club players who have such a big problem with player clubs - do you not think you are being slightly selfish, prohibiting some people for competing in a tour they could possibly compete in, granted maybe slightly easier due to their clubs, but when looking at nett difficulty, those playing tour clubs will probably be of the same ability and consistency with those clubs as someone who plays regularly, but not constantly with player clubs. If you have such a major problem with it, i am sorry for suggesting this, but maybe it is time to split the tours, to those who really want to be the world f*cking number 1 and those who just want to be at the top of the leaderboard even if it is with player clubs. Maybe the future is having a separate top flight tour for those playing tour clubs and those playing player clubs, if seemingly the tour club players feel they are losing such an edge when facing those playing player clubs. I mean come on, we don't all have that much time to spend on the game, and we aren't all incredibly gifted, let the player club players compete, and if they really should be good enough to be using tour clubs, then thats on their own heads, and they will feel the guilt, and those who have played hard with the tour clubs, please, feel happy with the fact you have played a harder, purer game, and be proud of your efforts. Of course there may be people who feel there is an advantage in playing player clubs, but really, if you are playing tour clubs, you are probably good enough to deal with player club players, you will have a greater understanding of effects of certain lies and rough, wind etc, green reading, so really in reality if there are some who (cheat) by using player clubs, thats on their own heads, if they shouldnt be using them, but does it really concern you, play your own game, and be pleased with how you perform regardless of difficulty.

It's amazing how much better the RCRs play on TGC2, it's like this game and the Tour Club swing was made for them. I think a large part of the problem is people don't enjoy struggling. Real golf is a b%&!
