1. Planes Trains and Automobiles- Steve Martin and John Candy pair so well together. 2. Anchorman- “I’m very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. 3. Grumpy Old Men- " A throw back here to the great duo of Lemmon and Matthau.

Anchorman - I think I need to rewatch this - never connected with me, but I understand almost everyone else thinks it's great. No.3, I've not seen but absolutely love The Odd Couple. I was always worried they would carry on the schtick between them too long and diminish their previous legacy.... but I think I'll give it a run out based on the recommendation, cheers.

And both very old... more support for my theory. Ace Ventura is a very good film, but not quite a classic in my eyes - about the same level as all your notables.

1) Cheech & Chong - Up In Smoke 2) Animal House 3) Caddy Shack
I was 14 when the Cheech and Chong movie came out. Me and my best friend seriously thought we were going to be just like them when we grew up. Saw that movie 3 times in the theater in one week. 2nd and third time we were "primed" for it
LOL @ There's Something About Mary. The hair Gel - practically peed myself!!!

LOL @ There's Something About Mary. The hair Gel - practically peed myself!!! Ahh the C & C = great memories. But not actually the best constructed films in the world. Still, great purple hazy coloured memories Caddy Shack is a genuine classic - one of Bill Murray's finest perfomances, and he's had a few! "Here he is, the man from nowhere...." Animal House also very good - but not my favourite National Lampoon film.

Late shout for Mrs Doubtfire Classic Very good. Robin Williams sadly missed Tho I didn't get on with his movies all that well - just loved his Saturday Night Live performances so much, that everything was a step down form there...
