I've also got the flops dialed in and I don't think I've skulled one. It's a slower swing and you can take a quick pause at the top as well. I'll flop anything between 18-40 yards and pitch between 41-80 yards.

I can flop fairly well now, but even if you get the swing down it's a bit finicky as to where exactly it will end up.

I think it's very manageable. That hop and stop mechanic means it is fairly predictable. Wish it was a bit more realistic with a higher trajectory but little spin so quite dependent on where it lands for roll out. Chips are quite OK, but the default traj should be a bit lower imo and of course the low shouldn't spin from the rough.

My advice would be to forget everything you did in TGC1 and avoid the flop at all costs. You want it to be one way, but it's the other way.

Far from being a "go to shot" - a high risk flop/lob is the last resort for any pro golfer.
HB nailed it in that regard - if I leave myself 20-40 yards with no way of getting it running to the pin it means I've made a mistake in how I've played the hole.
My advice would be to forget everything you did in TGC1 and avoid the flop at all costs I agree with this completely. I only use it as a last resort when there are no other options. Hardest shot for me in this game by far. I hate being in a green-side bunker with a wall in front of me knowing I have to somehow only flop it 14 yards. Brutal shot to pull off. Chipping is so much better in this game and has helped me recover from terrible approaches a lot. Still working out some of the longer distances with it. What used to be automatic flop in TGC1 is gone. I'm glad about that.

I feel that lofting up on a flop also makes it alot harder. Really tough to get out of deep greenside bunkers when you are short sided... Im trying to avoid them at all costs right now and leaving myself with 15 yard putts outside of the grid box LOL

From my experience, flop shots require you to be perfect perfect now during a swing. But I agree that they don't have any backspin on them like the use too

Flops are fine, you actively have to pause the swing at the top for a little bit which is counter-intuitive when using irons, woods, hybrids or driver. Not skulled one or messed one up in quite a few rounds, and the fact it spins nowhere near as much (even on Tour clubs) makes it very viable. Trying them out of the deep rough is hard, though.

Keep an eye in your lie with flops, hitting one on a downhill slope and you'll hit it further than expected even with a perfect/perfect swing

Sometimes it randomly seems to give me "very slow" or "very fast" and it is skull @!$#ed! "Very slow" will go about 2 yards. Very fast goes about 2-3x regular distance. As I understand the flop shot is one of the more difficult shots in golf so makes sense that if you don't get P/P you are going to suffer. Sometimes a couple practice swings first helps. I actually welcome this as in TGC1 the flops were total cheese!!! I have reconsidered in critical situations and resorted to chip and have gotten much better at chipping as I feel this is one area greatly improved that was nearly completely broken in TGC1.

I use Flop shots all the time (well maybe 4 times a round) . My only issue is that I keep expecting a backspin which is no longer there. It's pretty much the same a TGC1 but without the spin. It's all feel. No issue

Check the lie. Don't hit a flop on a downhill lie. Just like IRL, bad things happen when you try that one. Skull city.

Any one else having trouble with flop shots. I used to rely on them within 40 yards of the green. However 25 yard carry flop shot going 67 yards now. Am i doing something wrong ? Next time this happens check a replay of your shot, and see whether your club selection on the replay is what you actually set the shot up as. This game has habit of defaulting back to the original club selection after you've hit your shot. I am losing on average 3 shots a round with what you mentioned above happening to me. The last time this happened I changed the default 75 yard pitch shot to a normal shot, and Because I'm well aware of this frequently happening, before I hit the ball I checked my shot selection hadn't changed. My shot flew passed the pin and into the water at the back of the green, my tempo P/P. Checked the replay, and the game had defaulteded back to a pitch shot, or never accepted my normal shot selection in the first place. I've tried turning automatic shot selection off, but this made no deference.
