So if I don't have my tempo P/P it hooks left. Every time. My shot line can be inside the cone and it hooks left. My shot line is a bit off to the right, it hooks left. I purposely make my shot line outside of the cone to the right. Straight down the middle. I don't wanna pick up the habit of compensating. So what gives? Just more practice? Frustrating start to the game.

That's the controller I use - my only suggestion is to forget everything you learned from TGC1 since you could have the worst swing in the world and it would give you a straight line...and start from scratch. Try anything and everything with regards to controller angle, hand placement, thumb angle etc - until you start straitening it out.
I had trouble for the first few days when I first started playing - i tried a lot of methods before finding one that worked slightly consistently.

Thank you for your insight. Like I said I purposely had my line go out of the cone to the right and it went exactly where I aimed yet. I feel like that will be a bad habit. As far as forgetting everything. I've noticed lol. Cheers. Happy Canuck day hoser.

Did you go into big picture mode and calibrate your controller, or make sure the steam controller settings were configured to select "Xbox support" instead of steam/ps4/general gamepad? I had to do that with my ps4 controller, and it really helped, but I still feel like I'm getting some deadzone play coming into effect maybe 5 to 8 shots per round (random, wildly sideways swing paths and very slow/fast downswings). Since my controller is very experienced (not that old, but not new), I'm considering trying to switch to the xbox1 controller that I've barely used at all - especially since the reason I didn't use it in TGC1 was because I got way too many sub-100 swings, which seems to be what you should be trying to do in TGC2 compared to the feel of 1.

No, I haven't done that - but will look into it

A fast downswing will always yield a pull hook. Try to shoot for at least fast/perfect which means starting your downswing earlier than the top. I would just practice starting your downswing at about 70% back and go from there. You just have to slow down your flick up on the controller. A fast/perfect will still get your ball in the vicinity of where you want it to go.

I think I'm having the same problem as the OP, I play on PC with Xbox 1 controller. Where do I find this big picture mode and calibrate my controller? Is it in the game menu or steam settings.

inputmapper.com/downloadsIs your friend. I use a PS4 controller on PC thru that and have no issues. Try it, its built for XB controllers too.

Open steam, look in the top right of the window and you'll see an icon that looks like a controller. That will open big picture. Once you're in there, click on the icon at the top right that looks like a gear (settings), then go to the controller settings on the left side. All of that said, I connected my xb1 controller today and didn't see the "calibrate" option that I have with ps4. Regardless, you should at least make sure you have the proper type of controller support selected, which you will see in that controller options menu. Hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone's input. I play on xb1 so I don't think calibration has anything to do with me. For the guy who called me a yank. I'm actually Canadian and was just being polite about our 150 coming up this weekend..

Thanks Justin, you're a bloody legend mate. I was able to configure my controller. I'm still a bit of a novice gamer when it comes to steam (long time console gamer).
