Is a slower tempo easier to repeat in real life on the golf course? You can slow your tempo irl by slowing your backswing, most pro's hit a 3 to 1 ratio. Mine is 2.5 which is too fast been working to slow my backswing down. Some pro's use a 4 to 1 ratio. The idea is to have a consistent tempo because you swing speed will be faster for your driver than your irons So what I'm saying in this game, is that we should be allowed to choose what works for us. 2.5, 3, or 4 to 1

But a slower tempo would be easier to repeat. It's called tempo in the game but it really is a fixed swing speed for backswing and downswing.Your tempo irl is a ratio of you backswing to downswing speeds. There are many different swing speeds url but not many different ratio's to those speeds. 3:1 being the most common. The tempo/swingspeed works really well in the game in my opinion Is a slower tempo easier to repeat in real life on the golf course? Also remember in the game its a fixed speed not a golf measured tempo

I think a lot of people are hitting it left (myself included) as a hangover from TGC1 - where you could pull the stick back as slowly as you like, then slam it forward as hard as you could to guarantee 100% power.
What's helped me in TGC2 is speeding up my backswing, which means by the time I get to the downswing I naturally lose a bit of momentum and it goes through perfect most of the time, and just fast and not very fast when I get it wrong, so the miss isn't as bad.
Still doesn't actually resemble a real golf swing. But knowing where your potential miss is and planning accordingly is part of golf I guess

Maybe it would be too complex to implement. Your downswing speed is where you get your distance in golf

In my opinion, there should be a way for people to choose their own tempo. Their deviation from their own tempo is what should cause errant shots. So many golfers have so many tempos. If they're going to implement a tempo system, at least let people choose their own tempo. There should be a "groove your swing" mode where you find and calibrate your own temp, from there, straying from that tempo should cause issues. Suggested exactly this multiple times in the past. It makes sense.

I’m getting a perfect backswing but a slow downswing. Anyone know how to fix that? Also my shots are relatively straight. Playing on PS4

I'm having very little problem with tempo perfect/prefect and I only use my peripheral vision on the TV. My issue is getting my thump to go straight. Still working on those delicate issues.

All, I think I may have figured out an issue with xb1. I have an elite controller that I always use for all games. I have it setup to suit my racing games I play. I've never had to change it for tgc1. With that said, I have been struggling with the tempo on tgc2. Nothing was working. I was about to throw in the towel. I just went in and set my controller config to default. Went to the range. Perfect/Perfect almost every swing. Please try default config on your elite controllers and let me know that it helped or that I'm just crazy.

Random question: Did anyone have random tempo problems yesterday and the day before? I've never had temp be a problem at all since I purchased the game, but the last two nights it seems like every other shot had fast or even very fast temp with no noticeable change in my swing. It seems to be back to normal today and haven't had anything but perfect temp in 4 rounds. Could your swing tempo be effected if there are server issues? The game itself seemed a little "hitchy" while it was happening as well.
Like I said, all seems well now, just wondering about the server/tempo correlation if there is any.

Is player confidence a factor?
