In my opinion, there should be a way for people to choose their own tempo. Their deviation from their own tempo is what should cause errant shots.
So many golfers have so many tempos. If they're going to implement a tempo system, at least let people choose their own tempo.
There should be a "groove your swing" mode where you find and calibrate your own temp, from there, straying from that tempo should cause issues.

My natural tempo (I'm a RH player) ends up resulting in a perfect/fast, resulting in a wicked draw almost every time. Does that mean I'm pushing the stick too fast forward? Or that I'm transitioning too quickly to the downswing? Having real issues even with Player clubs. Any help appreciated!

With my own game so far, I am learning that I tend to do a couple thins wrong that lead to issues
1) Rest my thumb on the stick for a sec before starting my swing, club moves ever so slightly while resting said thumb, causing slow and very slow backswing according to the game.
2) Reverting back to my PS4 days when I pulled the stick back, pause slightly and push forward hard - causing fast downswing and major hook issues. (When I moved to PC, frame rates and lag improved and I no longer had to jam the stick forward)
3) Pulling back the stick and starting forward before at the top of the swing, causing either slow upswing or fast downswing or both.
I am ok right now with player clubs, and pretty bad with tour clubs. Hoping to fix that in time. But so far the best "tempo" swing I can use on player clubs is a nice relaxed swing like in TGC1. With tour clubs, I am finding I have to slow my swing a bit from what I was used (and was comfortable with) on TGC1. This causes me to not move the stick straight.

Here's the secret...
Thank me later...
Just shot -23 over 2 rounds at St. Andrews using this technique...
Take the club back straight and feel like you're swinging up and left on downswing.
Works wonders.
You're welcome. 😏😏😏

FWIW, this is my problem as well. I may have to start playing the fast/draw, there's no way I'll be precise enough to make the amount of birdies required to compete on PGA this way though. On PS4 the 'perfect' downswing feels farcically slow. I was a slammer on TGC1.

For me, I am almost constantly slow on the backswing. I usually hit perfect on the downswing, sometimes I'm fast. It's definitely a challenge, but one I'm looking forward to. The last year or 2 of the Tiger games also implemented tempo and I eventually got a hang of it.
I would also love to see a personal swing calibration for each of us. It would add a huge variety and realism aspect to the game. My uncle who also plays, actually said this very thing on Tuesday.

It's called tempo in the game but it really is a fixed swing speed for backswing and downswing.Your tempo irl is a ratio of you backswing to downswing speeds. There are many different swing speeds url but not many different ratio's to those speeds. 3:1 being the most common. The tempo/swingspeed works really well in the game in my opinion

You can slow your tempo irl by slowing your backswing, most pro's hit a 3 to 1 ratio. Mine is 2.5 which is too fast been working to slow my backswing down. Some pro's use a 4 to 1 ratio. The idea is to have a consistent tempo because you swing speed will be faster for your driver than your irons
