how do some of you guys figure the elevation on these courses I cant get close or hit the green some times

how do some of you guys figure the elevation on these courses I cant get close or hit the green some times most people divide by 3. 21 feet up, add 7 yards. 33 feet down, take off 11 yards.

My problem has been with larger drops with short clubs. At what iron does the 3 stop working and what elev.

I use it for every club, but tgen tgeres the wind to take into account. Roughly - headwind ร1.5 & add to distance, tailwind ร .7 & take off

I have no idea what x1.5 and x .7 means I hit and hope when it come to elevation that's why I need help

Example
You've got a 150 yard shot, hitting into a headwind of 10% with an elevation of -21
10 ร1.5 = 15 yards (add) 21รท3 = 7 yards (subtract)
150 + 15 - 7 = 158 yards in total
Hope that helps explain
P.S. dont forget that is just carry of the club, you've got to account for any run/roll

The 1.5 is just the decimal value of 150%, which is the suggested value for calculating the required distance adjustment. In the example you have headwind of 10mph, you then calculate the distance adjustment by x 150% (1.5). 10 x 1.5 = distance adjustment of 15 yards Remember this is just the wind factor adjustment ;-) Good Luck in game.

so its the wind times 1.5 does this apply for downhill also just minus yds
